That would be a Great laptop. I Love ASUS, They are one of the top brands and you can get A Lot more for your money over Alienware. I don't like when they make things so hard to work on and Dell is notorious for making laptops that you have to take completely apart just to change the hard drive and RAM etc. I am REALLY glad you are looking at the AMD CPU and Graphics. You get a lot more for your money when you go with one of the Laptops with and Ryzen CPUs They are kicking Intel's butt right now. The specs you listed sound great for the games you are playing. If you get one join me in some Mech Warrior On line or MWO for short. It is free to play. You are in these Big robots and battle each other. I get stuck on the game when I play. With all this drama going on I just have been Dis-hearted and I haven't spent the same amount of time on the mag, I have been playing MWO instead. I would Love it if some of you would join me..... Let me know if anyone is interestedThe G-series laptops are a bit more expensive than the ones I was looking at. I’m thinking about doing an ASUS Tuf 17.3”. It’s AMD Ryzen 5 3550H CPU and Radeon RX560x GPU. They have an Nvidia GeForce equivalent build, but the amd series are built to military grade durability specs. I’m not trying to play anything crazy, just wow and Starcraft. The AMD build is $800 the Intel build is $890 and only 15.6”
PM sent.Hey PC, I’ve got another computer question for you. The Asus Tuf gaming laptop I bought is this model ->FX705DY
I’ve watched a few review videos and they say that it has an empty M2 SSD slot. The reviews also say that adding a solid state drive adds a ton to the performance of regular tasks. Could you suggest an M2 SSD that I can buy to install in my new laptop?
I am sorry if that came across harsh about desktops over laptops, That wasn't directed at you I was just making a comparison. I really Love the Laptop you choose and if you use it while lying in bed playing games I totally get that. I have been thinking about getting something they call a lapdog which is something you use on a couch or in bed and it holds a keyboard and has an area to use a mouse they just have to be wireless of course. I want to get one so I can use my computer in bed too. I have a Nice little ITX build I did that is Really small. As small as an X box but it has an Ryzen 2700x 8 core CPU 32gb 3200mhz. ram an 1tb Samsung 970evo M.2 SSD and a RX580 8gb. GPU so it would play some games on my 50inch OLED LG TV.You’re already on the mag 24/7 Penny, you really need another device for 420mag access?
thanks for the reply PC! I do a lot of late night gaming in bed with a lap table. That’s part of the reason I really needed a laptop. The other thing is that I like to take it to friends house’s for LAN parties(when we’re not in quarantine). And I’ve had really really bad experiences with my desktop getting jostled on the car ride and losing components. (My GPU got totally mangled once, i don’t know how)
the laptop I’ve chosen, as you know, is one of the more upgradable ones. So when the time comes to add some new components it’ll be a cinch to get the computer open and the hardware installed.
