Parfactworks HB 1500, Weed Seeds Express & Prescription Blend 3x Sponsored Grow - The Safari Pt I: A Vegetative Journey

Four beauties and two living strugglers isn't too bad! Gives you a little something to be anxious about, and who doesn't need that? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Just saw this now sorry Shed! Not too bad Goldie I'm good with Limelight not so much...we will see, at least the others recovered just fine-even Gigi....
:thumb:

Many folks put the light at a good height/intensity for early veg and let the plants grow up into it, increasing the lux just because they're growing closer to it.
Makes sense...naturally
Dr. Meter LX1330B is what I use. Works from low light all the way to bright sunshine!

I will be ordering one, thank you
You said it! :bravo:
It's true. That's why ya like it so much

Kids...they grow up so fast (well most of em do )

My littles, my littlest and my littlest chance of survival...all growing together under the @ParfactWorks HB 1500. Once I understood how to raise a seedling using an LED w a dimmer (luckily before burning all of them), these girls have received the pass and like Forrest Gump, they started run-ning.

Loving this light now that I am harnessing it's capabilites in this stage of development.

We already know how beautiful it does in veg-seen it already on the girls that are now in my flower tent who are doing amazing thanks to their stellar upbringing under this light.

Looking forward to the remainder of this grow with the HB1500 and new seedlings to come.

Its an app - and I havent done a lot of digging around in the app to really learn much about it yet.
Did you see Shed posted that info for you....wish someone would teach me how to use the green "here" context....

An older 1994 literature review of environmental stressors in cannabis production and how those stressors affect cannabinoid levels in the plant. A dated but good read:

@Krissi1982

Hey everyone...I thought I'd chime in.

and who doesn't need that? :cheesygrinsmiley:
Uhhh...me...I don't need any of that!
Mama can spend the 35!
Or maybe not spend $35?! Interested yet? Haaa haaaa...just kidding. Spend your $ however you want.
Dr. Meter LX1330B is what I use. Works from low light all the way to bright sunshine!
I tried that one as well. Excellent meter and value. Tough to beat.
I got the Photone app and really dont know how to read it LOL
Let me know if you need help. I use the Photone app exclusively now.
How inaccurate are the Lux meter apps on a smartphone?
RM...get the Photone app if you want the most accurate one on the market. Easy to calibrate as well.
Apple, apple, apple.. I will not cave to the peer pressure, I love my androids
No need to cave. I was fortunate enough to be a part of their Android beta testing program. I am Droid. Their app works great on Android! I tested it on both platforms, Android and Apple BTW. Tested the app on several different Android devices with all being within 5% accuracy based on the manufacturer's PPFD charts. Easily calibrated to get within 1%. That's good enough for me!

Thanks @BakedARea ! I’ll play with it later today and let you know. I did read through @HashGirl ‘s thread where it was discussed further by @Jon and some others so I now at least have an idea of where to start!

As the guy who mentioned that the light was too bright for the sprouts, I want to jump into the dimming/height conversation again if that's okay:

Most of these sprouts need no more light than a T8 will provide, so please don't waste your money on the electric bill by raising the output of the LEDs at any height. They would be better off at some tiny percentage power @ 8" above as you would do with fluorescent tubes. And the bigger ones that can take more light can just get boosted a few inches closer.

Varying with wattage and height is best saved for when penetration becomes an issue. Higher output from further away provides better penetration to the lowers than lower output closer in. But it will be quite a while before that becomes a factor.

A lux meter would be an excellent $35 investment, and a PPFD meter would be best if you're spending your budding artist's college fund. :cheesygrinsmiley:

From the RQS website:
HOW MUCH LIGHT DO YOUR CANNABIS PLANTS REQUIRE?
  • Clones and seedlings: 5,000–7,000 lux
  • Vegetative growth: 15,000–50,000 lux
  • Flowering: 45,000–65,000 lux
  • Maximum recommended amount of light: 75,000 lux

Light degrades THC to CBN so I think that's why we dry and cure in the dark. I don't think it plays a role with terpenes, which are lost in the open air (hence the sealed jars), and the I don't think the microbes responsible for the cure are sensitive to light.
This. It’s pretty much my main focus the last weeks…

Update on the girls....

The bigger girls started Full Seedling Doses
Goldie and Limelight got some tea...

Goldie successfully made it and is doing well since her transfer. Her new growth is super healthy

Limelight is holding on, somehow....still growing her seconds out and I think, I see thirds in there....

Gelato girls, Vanilla and Sprinkles are happy

Onyx gets prettier every day

J.H. Spidey is looking great, wish I hadn't fried those first sets on the ends...she would look perfect if I hadn't.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and that you remember to take care of you. We can't take care of anyone else, not even our plants, if we don't take care of ourselves first!

Interested in your iPhone app with my Droid? Or you trying to change me over to Apple
I tried that one as well. Excellent meter and value. Tough to beat.

Aaaah you weren't trying to convert us at all!! I take back all the mean Apple Man things that I said to you  I'll take a 1% deviant

A recent cannabis photo-stress research review on increasing THC and terpenes:

@Krissi1982
Interesting. Light spectra 420 plants exposed to (left), types of cannabinoids that showed increased concentration in plant (right).

I've thought the sub canopy lighting would have a beneficial effect on the grow, I didn't think it had anything to do with an increase in specific cannabinoid production! It is interesting to see how different concentrations at different stages and different levels of the canopy affect the 420. PSM for pain management-that's what I need to work with!! This is a stellar article. I need to spend more time on it when the baby naps so I can add notes to my book.

Morning! My now quickly growing ladies.....

Goldie spawned new leaves!

Onyx and the Gelatos are at edges of the pots!

J.H. Spidey, not directly under the HB1500 unit and under the other light is clearly not advancing the same as those under it. Something to note about the quality of this light.

Vanilla and Sprinkles seem to have some lighter coloring coming in(some of it is just the lighting)...I read that the Gelato strain like nutrients so maybe I will give them something extra. See what they tell me. I'm open to thoughts...gave them a hint of cal-mag.

Limelight...oh Limelight. Still kicking. Still ugly looking. Still love her.

I'm going to try the sub-canopy UV lighting see if I get results.
