Oz's First Grow - Pyramid Tut In Coco

Here's an open question for ALL your collective experience.......drying? My understanding is you require 2 elements HEAT and GOOD AIRFLOW. Ok, if thats correct then would a couple of fan heaters work ok? I'm thinking chop, hang them in a large (ish) room (love Alex's coat hanger style :) ) and put a few fan heaters on them ? Would love to hear your thoughts :)

I prefer a slow dry (no fans or heaters) ....5-7 days on drying racks (in a well ventilated area) then about 2 weeks of curing in jars (minimum) longer cure = better results

Just what I do :)

Temperature is less important than humidity when it comes to drying your harvest. Too dry will not allow enough time for buds to dry out evenly and too wet can bring on mold and such. You want your humidity between 40%-60%, temps should be between 65-75 degrees F, 18-24 C, although temps 5 degrees F, ~3 C, or so outside of that range are suitable as long as RH stays stable between 40%-60%.

Brilliant info guys thank you :Namaste: I know that like so much other stuff....it's personal preference....but never having done it before, I don't have one (other than producing the BEST GREEN I can ) :) So, on that basis, a week or two left hanging in my tent, heaters or lights left on to keep temps around 70f and RH down around 40-45 and all should be good? Happy daze.....thank you :)

On that HAPPY note....I'm off to Kipsville. Catch you all tomorrow. Good night, sweet dreams and GREAT GREEN :)

Great info Coloradohigh :thumb:

OZ I used to hang and I use one of these drying racks now...so much easier and quicker

I have 4 more racks that clip on to this but I leave the main part hanging all the time so I just snapped a quick photo so you can see

I dry at 65 degrees Farinheight 40-45% RH ...no light

Yup...the coco I got comes double washed, buffered and aged...also the coco and fert I got said to fertilize with every watering...I'm excited about this...I used to have trouble with plain watering because my well water is very hard (high calcium)...I have tried feed, water, feed, water and water, water, feed, water water feed. This feed, feed, feed will work much better for me because I mix my nutes with distilled water and I can only get an accurate PH if I add nutrients...I'm excited :)

The problem is Jay, you haven't used "Bugger All" in your schedule.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Just did some temp. reading by Ed R. 85 is good as long as you are juicing with xtra C02, otherwise, the plant is working on trying to cool itself which can slow growth,

what is the temp of your coco below surface? check when hottest time is peaked, in your tent?

Should not go over 80. just what I read.:high-five:

Hey Oz, I am a newy on this site & been lurking around LED forums learning what I can, then I stumbled onto your thread, your tag caught my eye (I am Aussie) & I am also planning a coco grow. Got reading from the start & lmfao cause you were asking all the stuff & freaking out the same as I will when I get goin. Anyway mate l was amazed at the amount of support your getting & have learned a lot from you & the band of brothers on this site. Good luck with your grow matey

OZ heaters for drying lol. My god my man :) As people have said. You just need a dark dry spot like a cupboard. Check temp, mine in simply sat at a bit lower than room temp at about 22c. Then you have no fan for first day maybe 2, Then after that add a small fan for slight air movement, (not direct onto buds)
Then just check how its doing :) My buds take about a week before I start thinking of jars. If once I have taken off from stem they seem to have a little moisture still I then shoe box with paper for a day or so before starting cure. You do want a slight bit of moisture left inside the buds. As curing draws it out. If to dry curing wont happen properly.
Simply put the slower the drying process the better. Its just getting the balance right between this and not getting any bud rot :)

Check the how to grow mj guide by 420 it goes into all the processes :)

Sad really.......anyway, here's a pics following todays efforts :)

Pic Update .....Day 79 for Tutts and day 54 for autos (from me recieving the beans :) )

Cheers my mate....praise indeed :Namaste: As for putting Gitt to shame, that's impossible (unless I tie 6 of mine together maybe) lol :) I had a PROPER count today and I've got 193 established sites with a further 29 small limbs with sites forming. The autos are CRAZY though lol. No4 is getting better and better by the day....some lovely big buds forming :) Great advice you gave there (again :) )
