Our Ongoing Grows

Hard to tell what it is with the pic. Looks alittle like' a Calcium problem as Fish said. Or could've been fried leaves that got water on them. Or neem products. Kind of hard to tell. I always have afew screwed up leafs on the bottom of a plant. I think it was just afew leaves so it wasn't a problem right? Least what I read on your thread. I think you took that plant didn't you Dutchess? Wood be wise to look for calcium deficiencies in your veg plants. Keeping a bottle of cal/mag in the cabinet is never a bad idea.
Well I just got a cut of the Black DOG rooted along with a Blue Dream. And I threw the Skywalker in flower. I'll try to get a pic of the girls tomorrow. I picked up the camera tonight and guess what???? Batteries said no. Well they are up on the wall getting new life. So tomorrow I'll get acouple. Isn't anything impressive in there. I have one that outgrew it's flood table, a Kushberry, and I had to put her on the floor ontop a small pot. I hate putting plants on the floor. Drip rings.... I really like the little flood tables. You can let all the water run off to buckets. No brainer. I really think I'm going to install some real flood tables in there, alittle lower to the ground..
Well I'll update later..... Everyone,,, Keepem Green

Ive been thinking about the G.cleaner and plan to use it every first of the month, 3 times in one week on ALL plants I have except if their in the last 2 weeks of flower.
Heres some leafs from the tent yesterday. No bugs but somethings goin on. Im thinking PH problem??? Can you tell NCW??

A little late but....
Definitely a ph problem locking out micro nutrients or russet mites.
Measure the ph of the runoff to rule out mites.
If using soil try adding a handful of Dolomite Lime pellets as a top dressing. It will stabilize Ph fluctuations

Welcome Jimmy.... I've had them Russet mites myself. And they are rude and hard to kill off once you got them. This is the first time I've dealt with them and I lost alot of my outdoor grow to them this year. I did save half my crop and they do cause the leafs to curl over,, kind of like this pic I took this year. They are easily over looked. They are small,, alot smaller than spider mites;

bugs15.JPG

Now PH,,, that's something I've not dealt with before least on my indoor grows,, now outdoors in the ground using native soils, I've used lime in the mix. Most indoor soils are phed already and proper fertilizers are buffered as well. But it sure couldn't hurt to check your run off like Jim said and if it is way off then. If it is way off,, you need to find the problem. I use Black Gold soil myself,, but I've used alot of different ones from MG to Promix. I don't like promix myself,, to much watering and it doesn't hold its food values. Besides Black Gold is a hella lot cheaper. I give around 10 bucks for a 2 cubic foot bag. Hopefully you got if figured out... Keepem Green

Hey there Woody... happy new year buddy.... I hope and pray your node thing is curing ... I've had crazy shit like that cut out, it ain't fun but we still alive ... those damn doctors. Can't live with em and live'n without em ain't no fun either.

Black Dog... great strain.. easy to grow everyone loves it. Make'n me wanna go another few rounds with her.

Very similar to Blackberry Kush and Chemdawg... hahahaha well duh! It's the real deal... I was surprised.

You lived in San Fran in the 70s? Wow dude... run into Bear or his gang very often?? There was some gooood music going on live in the house back in those daze.

So happy and healthy new years to ya buddy and wishing you bountiful harvest and happy healthy new years.

Red and White Bear? The Big Red Machine? I was a hang around at the Oakland Clubhouse from 78-88. I do know a Bear that rides HA outta Oakland... well use to, I heard he got killed in the ongoing war they have with South Cali Moguls.. Man I had tons of fun with these people. Oakland was pretty ruff back then. Crack just hit the streets and they were killing people left and right back then,, over that shit.
But they have set up surgery for me on the 25th. Cut this node out and look around for the cause. I don't know yet if they found anything with the last test. Suppose to be a ruff surgery. Guess I'll be in the hospital acouple 3 days. Is what it is,, and we'll deal with it. Thanks BoBrown for the well wishes. Yea I hate the cycle my doctors got me on, but what can we do?
Fast update. Flower Room is going full swing. You can see the Kushberry as the tallest in there. She'll be coming down of her step stool tonight;

And acouple new ones and two cuts.

quite the forest, i saw smaller trees driving through redwood park,, but, to be honest, i saw bigger ones too

cheers friend,, good saturday to ya

Thanks,, you ever been thru the redwoods? I use to help a local youth camp open the cabins and chase out the bear and clear wasp nests in King's Canyon Sequoia National Park. Was a free camp for underprivileged kids in Alameda Co. Was cool till they started getting alot of problem kids from Oakland, little wanna be gang bangers and they had to close down. Kids up to 13, teaching them to fish and gold pan,, till one got shot. Kid brang a gun up there.
Man that was a pretty place. I got in before the park was open and I'd get the first casts on the good trout pools.. That was forever ago. Even before I broke my neck,, about 1980. Wow type in 1900's and that sounds pretty damn old.
But I want to say this,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I even have the intake fans off for the night time in the flower room. Cold out. Alittle dry powdered snow and ALOT of wind out there. We may get some ice this weekend. Got to say we had a cold enough winter to kill off any russet/broad/spider mites out there. After that problem out there this year,,, I welcomed some cold weather,, but now we've had enough. If I want snow,, I'll go look at Mount Hood. Or drive a half a hour up that ways.
I plan on getting some individual pictures of plants updated soon. Getting time to pull them out one at a time and look em over. Alittle deflo here and tie up there and a picture of each. But,,,,,Blue Dream is off and running, followed closely by Money Maker, and pulling show, Purple Orange CBD. That's it for a minute from B&J Meadows.. Keepem Green

Red and White Bear?
Hope everyones gardens are doing great,, and Keepem Green

"Bear" Owlsley and GD friends ... he had HA friends for sure. Those trippy hippy people that play music and beer and other.....

Good times back then.. Love me some Thai Stick and Hawaiian weed... that's when the pot started getting really really good then Nixon.. WTF was that dude's trip? I could never figure that out.

Anyways... dude I can't see the Forrest cause you got a shit ton of trees in there! Good job buddy.... what size containers are you using?? They look perfect size for some big ass beauties.

Pop some more of those Black Dog beans... I think you're going to really like them. It's got real good meds and a long lasting buzz. You get it all with that one... giggles, laughing for no reason, followed by body buzz wake up the next day and you still feel really good.

I have a pretty high threshold... errr I should for all the weed I smoke and once I started down that path (chemdawg/BD/Blackberry Kush) I felt like a noob..... Man I just spent all day like 6 hrs trimming. My hand hurts, I'm all spaced out from breathing in gasoline fumes, I need a smoke break.

:passitleft: let do this...

Your flower room looks fantastic.. love me all the flowers buddy! :thumb:

Ok now I got ya,, yea was alot of Deadheads around at all the early partys.. Oh yes I got ya now. I had to look him up and it hit me. Not that I know the dude personally, but you can bet I tried his product... I partied with allot of the friends.. Was alot of association between the two. HA's kind of looked out for them in exchange for well you know... Even Jerry use to come party at the Clubhouse,, least I heard, I never was there personally. I hear he was bad into the black stuff. Funny thing,, I use to have a huge grow I did in a barn on top of the pass by Mountain House, right down the road from the Altamont Speedway. That's where that big concert,, err problem happened. Before my time but I use to ride dirt bikes around that track when it was closed down. After that concert they shut down the park. I hear they reopened it. I really liked the Bay Area...
I only had one seed of the DOG. But I did get a cut so all good. Just Incase. Isn't alot of weed I feel myself. I've gotten partial to this Mind Cantrol. Everyone has that's smoked it so far. I had a 5 pack of these seeds I won in a contest along with the Red LT from Krippling.
But I'm a tightwad and buy single seeds. Most vendors have stabilized a strain so you can replace the seed,, well sometimes. I've grown the Blue Dream 3 times before and always kick myself for not taking a cut for a alot of plants. I'm going to next time. 1/2 Blue Dream and 1/2 Mind Cantrol. In my mind right now. What I do see about the Black DOG,,, minimal stretch for sure, perfect for tents, but I think I see a smaller yield coming with smaller buds. Time will tell. I don't mind smaller yields,, but she'll sure have to be worth her weight. That Blue City Diesel I have is a smaller plant,, just had to do 3 of them at 3+ oz's to fill a gallon bag.
Have to come see what ya got trimed up... Keepem Green

Ok took acouple pics,,,,don't ask me of what but we'll see. First off,,,, Miss J was looking thru the cabinets and lowe and behold,,,, a container we both forgotten about. Plant grown outdoors this year,,, called Unknown. About a LB in there.. But I remembered what it was and it's for budder. Portland is hard on a outdoor grower. You better have a real fast flowering plant here,,, or your going to have bud rott. I managed to save afew plants this year, over the Russet Mites that killed alot. This girl was on the other side of the yard and grew proper. Going to make some fine concentrates, or cooking shit;

A fast shot of my starters in flower under a MH bulb for the first week. That is the Black DOG in the back right;

Here's what I throw in flower and the flood tables I got at Riteaid;

Ok, PH problems, my meter is kinda wacky. It reads wacky then goes correctly. Its a health wiser that dosent have to be stored in water. The first PH meter I had dried out and went bad. I wonder if I should get a new one and which kind???? I check it with 4.0 cal fluid and its fine. When phing the water, first it reads 7.0 and I shut it off and turn it on it reads 7.5 and I shake it and it reads something else. I like the Health Wiser because no need to store in water. Any suggestions on my PH meter? A better one???
Checking run off.......... never did it. Im guessing you catch the water from the pot and check it? Im not sure what its supposed to be? It cant be the same PH as what went in? So you catch the run off and check its PH and its supposed to be the SAME as what went in? Also Id love to add to my Fox farm regiment but not sure what? I was told FF has it all and no need? Also very important..... are Broad Mites the same size as Aphids, if so Id see them. Theres no mites. So a PH problem?
Heres the PH pic. NCW please forgive me for posting all this here but I gots to know! Great Day!!!

Definite ph problem.
Always good to have a pack of short range ph strips on hand. They don't require batteries and are 100% accurate.

To test runoff.
Fill planter with ph tested water until it runs out the bottom.
Test runoff. Runoff should read 6.5.
If you want to self correct your ph use Dolomite. Ignore what ppl say about cal-mag liquid. Cal mag has a high absorption rate and will only correct the problem for a few days. Dolomite pellets are placed as a top feed (on top of the soil) and will buffer your ph to 6.5 every time you water.
Dolomite is $9 a kilo. Cal mag is $35 for 500ml. Dolomite is what professional horticulturist use.

One of these days I want to be a professional horticulturist. But then I use cal/mag. jk but true.... I don't think cal/mag has much to do with PH tho. But if you are having ph that high you might have a problem. And that's exactly what lime is for. What kind of soil and fertilizer are you using there Dutchess? But I've never had a ph problem with soils,' I use that Black Gold Organic mix, Black GoldPremium Potting Mixes - Black Gold. Alot of store bought soils are already buffered with lime or limestone. As are most fertilizers. That sure doesn't mean that you couldn't have a problem with your soil. Myself, I haven't even used my ph pen since my last hydro. We do have water that is to low on the PPM, from 10-40 and even with bone meal, I have to use Cal/mag or problems arise. Keepem Green
