Could be a contender. I will have to say,,, she's not the biggest buck in the herd,,, but she is respectable.

Wood what would you suggest as an amendment to my Fox Farm routine? Fox Farm said add Bush Doctor Flower Kiss when I sent them a pic of my possible Calcium Def. The only thing Id like to change/add would be to swell my indoor buds. Im not sure Im ready to upgrade from Fox Farm quite yet just maybe make it better? Any thoughts??? My FF routine is their powder and liquid by their schedule. I also use their Ocean Forest soil.
The friend that gave me the 600w hps and started all this indoor for me also gave me a big bag of "Grow More" and said its for outdoor veg. I might use this in next years yard grow for veg and FF for flower but need to research. Ive also thought of a can of tuna in the hole for outdoors and might experiment next year. Any thoughts?
Im glad the surgery for your wife went good.

Looking good Norcal. I was looking through all the posts and couldn't help but notice the huge Tupperware containers behind one of your Autos. All full of course.

Thanks, A-Bird, but I don't do the contests. I did like 2 contests since being here. That was in 09'.I had a bit of drama between afew peoples back then, so I just stay out of them. But thanks again. Marijuana is so photogenic, isn't it? Seeing I don't do the contests, is the reason I like this thread,
"Creme de la Creme" Cannabis Photos
Gives ya a place to show off afew pics. You never know, one day I might enter one, now that they have prizes....
I think Buckshot' has great photo gallery too. One I need to look at again.
Hey Dutchess, plants really drink the calcium during transition and early flower. I saw that product is a spray applied at the start of your flip. It's a micro nutrient boast which couldn't hurt. Look into some bonemeal to start your amendment stock. Good slow release calcium source. Great if you ever want to build Living Soil for repeat usage. I use afew amendments blood/bone meal, rock phosphate, the worm castings, damn I need another bag. But if your still going to use FF products, it couldn't hurt to do what they recommend. For your indoor girls anyways. I think they have acouple more brain cells left than I do, and might have a good regiment. Might as well try the 'deluxe' treatment right? Let them be all they can be according to FF. GL and Keepem Green

Hey NCW....mighty nice pics you been posting. 8-Ball is a real beauty. Crap about losing the Sensi Star. Know you lost a couple lately to damping off. Check out a product called SLF-100. Live bacterial enzymatic cleanser....said to be good against pythium that causes damping off. It helps w/ my gnats & has a bacteria that's supposed to break down salts too. Been using it & so far so good. Good to hear Ms. J is doing ok.

When you asked me about the hollow stem....didn't say it was Ca deficiency but probably plant could have benefited from more Ca. Some say hollows are genetic, others say more Ca will prevent. I only use 1 FF product but have used it for years.....that's their Big Bloom. Always good for me. Just mentioning since you say you prefer FF gear. That Grow More product you asked about may be Sea Grow. It's an old outdoor grower's favorite many used before the pot product explosion. Nearly all organic & cheap. I still have a can of it around. More easily found at regular nurseries. Have a friend who grows outdoor light dep style....he throws an entire fish in ea. hole. Can't go wrong w/ fish fertilizer....but you have to get over the smell. Great in flower, low N, high P, usually zero K. Like how you're already planning next year's outdoor garden.
:Namaste:

Welcome Blue Skye. Hope you enjoy them.
I was out back looking at the depressing pile of sticks poking outta the pots from this years. Of course, these are dead and dried out, but most have a hollow stem to some degree. Some more than others, close to yours. Now I'm looking at my 8-Ball buds, and she's hollow like a fine straw on her larger ends and stems. I'd imagine closer to the tip she's pretty solid. Plants are what? 90% water weight? The whole way a plant's uptakes is like a straw, or like that thing with food coloring and a piece of celery. Make up some rich colored water and put the celery in it, it will draw up some color. I just did a search for 'cannabis vascular system' and found a good read, but you know censorship. But here's the highlighted area about the straw.
The evaporating water vapor that exits through the stomata draws water up through the plant to replace it much like a chain. Water has a tendency to stick to the sides of a container ('adhesion') and also to adhere to itself ('cohesion'). Because of these two properties, water in narrow tubes forms a continuous chain of water molecules. Water evaporating through the stomata pulls the chain of water up the stem to replace the lost fluid through 'vessels', the many long, narrow hollow tubes made from dead xylem cells. Water molecules form a chain; as the top of the chain is lost to evaporation, the rest move upward to fill the void.
Hot weather? Wet weather? Might the plant have had the tap opened all the way up? I know big plants need alot of water to get to be big plants. I know some have this soft pith? But hey,,,, you did well, I sure didn't see anything wrong with the buds or was that a bad branch? Like said, ain't broke, don't fix.
Why not, we been using fish since the days Indians showed us starving ass white men how to plant fish in the corn patches. I'd be warry of one thing,,, salt or the oil in some. I don't know. My Grandma used to have me disk all the fishheads etc. in the gardens. You might wanna bury it deep to, cat might wanna dig it up. Good idea tho.
Hey Brightlights, I almost always use something kind of sort of like what your talking. Biological Warfare. Stuff I'm using has Streptomyces lydicus WYEC 108 in it. That is if you remember to give the soil a drench. Product is called Actinovate AG. I'm going to take a peek at yours, couldn't find what was in it. But from what I understand about this stuff here is it's a bacteria that eats dead and sick type matter that attacks the roots and causes the moldss and wilts. Which damping off is one.
Back to A-Birds thought about them pics, I have one going right now that if I can capture it correctly,,,,, it could be the bud of the year. It's a Mind Cant'rol from a seed give away abit back. I'm not even going to try to get a pic anymore while she's under that HPS. I mean this girl is sick. You can bet I'll get acouple good pictures of her.
I'm pretty happy with what turned up in the flower room this time. 11 plants, 7 different strains. Going to be all new ones next time too. But I started 2 more seeds. If that Mind cant'rol is anywhere close to be as good smoke as she looks. I'll be looking for a mother plant and hope I get the same pheno. She'd do great as a single cola SOG plant. I have 2 in there. Both look to be the same pheno cept this ones amped up. Well I'm outta here... Hope all's great out there and Keepem Green

Cool Miss J is recovering... I hope that was 100%'er

You guys have had enough shit.

Almost every time Im thinking of switching from FF to something else i have a month left of grow and have to buy more to finish. Although i am at the end of Tiger Bloom and Grow big and could possibly change for my next tent grow. Not sure to what. FF makes it easy. At this stage of learning I like easy.
FF said their Big Bloom is great for root development and is why its used in veg. I saw the difference in my yard grow. The root system and stock seemed great! Especially if the hole in the stock is hereditary. I wont use any foliage applications. Some reason I think its a waste. Theres so many nute options at the grow shop Im torn what to do???? I want easy and cost effective. If I was going to add blood/bone meal, r.phosphate and w.castings Im not sure how much. My plan this year was to use more FF ocean forest soil when I planted and it worked. They all got about 2.5 gal hole with it. My plan was to make an even bigger hole next spring and give each plant 5 gal Ocean Forest in a bigger hole. The tuna fish was an idea because of the Native Am. thing and its 70 cents a can. Thanks for the info. If I do use a can of fish I will go deep with it if its best for flower. Its hard to get advice from the grow shop sometimes.
Keepn em green! :passitleft:

I just started using a real simple fertilizer. Floranova. I use to bigger one, but you can use the simple formula and add alittle cal mag and be done. It goes along ways. If you got beastie blooms or some of those, you can use them inplace of the dry koolbloom.

Try the Sea Blast system from Earth Juice easy cheap and better... straight pro mix for growing medium

I still stay with Black Gold Organic mix. One thing I didn't care about the promix is how fast water runs thru. Now that's great if you want an aggressive growing plant, but you best not forget to water. If you have a descent sized plant in say a 5-gallon pot, you best be johnny on the spot with the water ever night. Black Gold has better water retension than the Pro Mix and you can skip a night every now and then. All the soil is a base for the amendments........ Keepem Green

Hey, Buckshot. I always seem to try different fertilizer programs. I tried the Earth Juice line of organics once. Some nasty slimy ass shit. I remember the Grow and Bloom needed a paint shaker to get all the goodies broken up. I used a stick and shook that damn gallon jug for afew damn days. I guess it must have been old stock or something. Totaly slimed out any bucket I used. Especially the bloom stuff. I didn't care for it myself as a primary food source. I had alot of yellow leaves and hungry plants. This was their lower end product. I imagine it wood be perfect if someone was truely using a living soil. I heard it's great microbial food. I haven't tried the product your talking so I can't say much about it.
Well, doctor still can't find the primary cancer. It's in the node so it is there,,, somewhere. More doctors now. Miss J is doing really well. She won't stay down. I just yelled at her to leave the damn laundry alone. Hopefully, she'll be pronounced cancer free in awhile. Now she has the plastic surgeons to deal with. But she's doing great...... Keepem Green

Hey NC... I hope they get there shit together quick and find it.

Sea Blast is dry, it comes in 2 pound sacks. You only need 1/2 of the recommended amount for pot.

Here it is under 20 bucks a sack

Thanks everyone for stopping in. I'm thinking about pulling the Red whatever it's called from Doctor Krippling tonight. She really started maturing fast this last week. I have took all the lower buds off the 8-Ball Kush and left all the main colas. Going to be a good little crop off her. I also have 6 starts in the veg tent. They all got sprayed with the green cleaner last night. I plan on spraying her once more while in veg. Then a coat of neem oil when I throw them in flower. Man sure getting some nice flowers in there.
Once more thanks everyone for stopping in. I hope all are doing good out there,, and their gardens are growing great... Keepem Green
