OTM's DIY Bubble Cloning & Sprouting 40 Year Old Seeds & Current RDWC Harvest

Do most of you guys cut off the nutes when you see amber? Just wondering because I've always cut off the nutes at cloudy and flush until I see amber, which has been on average 10-14 days. I'm stuck with some old habits though, so if it is better let me know.

I want my LA Confidential to get be a nice couchlock stone, so I was advised by some of the experts in here to flush at 15-20% amber. I'm growing in coco. I'm seeing a couple of ambers in the lens at 60x zoom and thinking my flush is really close.

I noticed the scattered amber's only on the very top bud, everything below is very clear to scattered clouds, (am I sounding like a weatherman/person lately?)

I would like everything above the scrog to be between 10% lower branches to 25% at the top, and harvest as each plant progresses.:slide:

BB's charge for the nights, my guess is you're not getting compensated for this one. Anyway, glad you're well and glad the plants are well. See ya Thursday night.

Don't worry, my compensation will be made by my son and daughter-in-law...some of the inheritance just found a new reason to get circulated to more important things!:drool:

8-10 update;

I am officially done with Bed & Breakfast duty, and made it very clear to my kids that the Inn was out of business for the rest of my days!:laughtwo:

Baby Maui or Hayley? is starting to grow out the first leaves some, no doubt that this strain is much slower than the strains in the current grow, I looked back in my notes and both the Purple Kush & White Widows already had the start of the 3 finger leaf by now.

The clones are getting big and this weekend are going to find new homes, a bigger bubbler for 4 and coco for the other two. Its interesting to see the re-veg growth, the tops could pass as tomato plants.

The current grow is filling out, I would say 50-75% cloudy trich's on most, the Widows are going to be the first to harvest, they are really getting frosty sugar leaves and have nice sticky dense buds

The Kush gals also have some nice buds but not a lot of sticky frosty sugar leaves yet...they are rated as a 8-10 week flower so that may come.

And I am true to my word...I snipped a couple popcorn buds (one of each strain) for research purposes only :blushsmile:

Purple Kush on the left and White Widow to the right...they will dry out slow for a few days, maybe Sunday I can research them a little more!:smokin2:

I took some pictures with the USB scope but can't seem to get them uploaded...it worked before...If I remember how I did it last time I will post them up.

Now to get caught up with all the action that happened the past few days on everybody's journals!;)

:thanks:

OTM, glad to have you back. Looks like the air has it a little cold in the grow room, awful lot of frost on them buds. The little one is looking good. Bet they are all glad to see you have retired from the BB gig.

At least the little one is looking nice and healthy :thumb: Nice looking buds developing there mate, keep up the great work!

Welcome back, ive been looking forward to your update!

Thanks to all for your patience, I was have signs of :420: withdrawal myself, and not being able to check out the grow like I normally did while I was home the past few month didn't help!:laughtwo:

It will be round 3 of old bean popping for sure this weekend, baby Hayley needs a sibling or two to encourage growth...sibling rivalry needs to be established! :cheertwo:

8-12 Update; OLD BEAN TRY #3

Today I had the proper time to preform Round 3 in an attempt to add brothers or sisters to Baby Maui, 6 beans, 1 cup of Distilled water with 350 PPM of GA3 with an hour pre-soak in distilled water with H2O2 added to kill any bad stuff. Again, 6 beans were scuffed after a hour or so out of the freezer.

I decided to back the GA3 down to 350 PPM from 500 PPM on the last attempt which Baby Maui started from and the first attempt which was 100% failure.

I have the Microclone kit but since it is a $50.00+ and a 1-2 shot attempt for popping seeds I am going to save it for a last resort when I get to the red & gold seeds since they are much less in numbers.

The plan this time after 24 hours of soak will be to put directly in organic soil rather than a rapid rooter, all in one pot with damp medium under T8's at 18/6 light and maintaining a 80 degree 70% RH. If I have to pry the open any split seed shells like I did before, I will, worked last time for 1 out of 6.

I also had the chance to work on the existing grow, doing some leaf trimming and organizing the plants by using string to bunch and separate for a better organized select Scrog harvest...I am amazed how the growth/buds continue under the scrog where the light is less.

This is no doubt my best looking plant in the entire grow, is a White Widow that is in RDWC;

The Purple Kush gals are quite different, one in coco and one in hydro are quite short but very dense buds even under the scrog, while the RDWC gal in the back is all legs and no bush!

I mixed up a 5 gal bucket of 75% Coco Coir and 25% perlite and give it a rinse for tomorrow's transplant of two of the clones, and have a bigger tub ready for the clones that will end up in the current RDWC system...more pictures tomorrow!:cheertwo:

:thankyou: for following along!

Those flowers are really coming along OTM! Still not a lot of amber hairs from the looks of things though? How are the trichomes looking at this point?

Good luck on the next attempt at old beans! You're learning and adapting, you'll get more in time.
