OTM's DIY Bubble Cloning & Sprouting 40 Year Old Seeds & Current RDWC Harvest

The seeds look neat with their shells pulled back.. i do see a little something growing out of the one! That is a really weird branch.. i would cut it off and burn it lol.

Looks like foxtailing to me. Either heat stress or too much nitrogen will do that. Might be something else but that's all i can think of now

Heat shouldn't be a problem, but it is on the plant I have been having the lock-out issue. Good possibility that might have had something to do with it, as you can see this particular branch looks healthy with none of the twisting or spotting like this.

Are you supposed to place taproot down in soil about 1/4 inch or white tap root up and seed down in soil. Just want to get her right after she shows her tap root

Place it in your medium with the root down and just cover it with light sprinkled soil, don't compact it and use a spray bottle to keep the soil damp until she starts the 1st true leaves,

After your seed cracks let the tap grow at least 1/4 -1/2" in the paper towel, be careful when transferring it to the soil, those taps are fragile and will sometimes start to attach themselves to the towel with the micro roots.

Good luck!:goodluck:

Hey OTM. I could be completely off but it looks like your plant branch might have either Zinc or Potassium issues. The brown spots ya mentioned, twisted growth, leaf discoloration, and bud mutation or growing mishaped are all signs of them.

Also, that's one funky branch! I'd chop it if you haven't already. No need to let the plant focus energy on a extremely deformed growth harming rather than helping. I believe I've seen this in pics when I was looking up mutations and their extreme diversity especially as the Australian Bastard Cannabis vine and Duckfoot trait Ive always wanted to see up close.

I'm honestly impressed. I would never touch the embryo of a seed for the life of me. I could hardly make anything out, but that's amazing if so. I'm loving it! I've had seeds take up to 12 days to sprout up. Usually 3-4 to show tap on average. Only once have i seen one personally show tap within 16-24 hours. I use damp paper towel myself but it is what it is. Sometimes I see it crack by 36 not often though.

Also, I wanted to add that in the groups I follow, crap king seeds is sadly avoided big time. Their genetics are weak for the most part and I see more mutations or deformed growth in CKS than anything. I agree they do send your stuff, but you could do SO much better. Check out oldschool.Ba. They have great strains and reeferman is connected with/to them. No, they aren't cheap like CKS, but they have a great selection I think you'd appreciate. Just a suggestion. I know some people don't like sources given out but idc as I'm trying to help someone and that's more important than anything. Alright! Keep On Keepin On and hopefully your girls finish strong and that bean pops. Even one plant u can clone and reuse from each would be dope to see. Than you can if female have reoccurring grows and even maybe do what that person I know did and cross say Panama Red To Columbian Gold or any of the 3. Get a close representation if what it was. I really hope we see progress and I only wish I could have seen your trees back then. Keep up the good work! . . .

Hi Weed,
I raised the PH in the system to 6.0 and have not seen anything on the new growth or spreading to other areas, so maybe I have this problem fixed, res change is due in a few days and I added 5 fresh gallons Monday.

I think DinsDale & Night4wings are right, its coming off the bud so foxtailing is probably the right diagnosis...I just have never seen it on a lower popcorn bud before!

Back in the day, we never soaked seeds or put them in paper towel, it was straight into dirt, but with these new strains I figured I better do what CKS advised. I am impressed that 6 out of 6 popped for me and taps were out in 24-36 hrs, we will see what the quality is like in about 3 months!

I will be updating shortly, so you will see a tap better soon.!:surf:

7-26 Update;

It was a busy day for me, I had to be out of the house early and didn't make it home in time to check the grow room before lights out but I did snap some pictures this morning before I left of the Maui beans.

The pictures are kind of dark because the sun wasn't up yet and using the flash washed everything out, but we have a tap about 3/16" long coming out of the top bean, and what looks like the start of another on the 3rd down from the top. :yahoo::yahoo::party::woohoo:

I watered them down good and put them in the veg tent in the humidity dome so the paper wouldn't dry out before I left the house this AM, so hopefully everything is still nice and moist in the morning and that tap has grown another 1/4"!

I have Rapid Rooters, Coco Coir, and Pro Mix Organic on hand, the rooters have micro-nutrients, the coco is neutral, and the Pro Mix has some goodies in it...I am leaning on using the rooters and moving to Coco but am open to suggestions.

I also could move one of the clones into Coco and put it into hydro, but considering these plants are old genetics, veg time would be 5 months and flower at least 4 I don't think hydro would be the way to go. For soil or coco I would need at least a 15 gal smart pot, 20 would probably be better.

The goal is to raise a male and female to do nothing but make seeds!

:thanks:
