OTM's DIY Bubble Cloning & Sprouting 40 Year Old Seeds & Current RDWC Harvest

7-15 update;

Here is a better picture of clone 6 (remembered to use macro this time!) and a picture of clone 1's roots, they are just touching the water now so they should grow quite rapidly!

The current grow is still stretching, stacking and drinking lots of water, will add another 5 gallon pail in the morning.

My GA3 was in my mailbox today so tomorrow morning we will give 6 more Maui Wowie seeds a shot. I plan on scuffing them in a sandpaper roll and starting out with a 250 PPM mixture of the Gibberellic acid in 1 cup of RO water. According to the instructions the powder will not mix directly into the water, it needs to be solvated with a few drops of 70% rubbing alcohol first and then mixed into the water.

I will be a busy morning and I will update with some pictures of the process and keep my fingers & toes crossed that this will work!:bitingnails:

:thankyou:

Sending lots of positive vibes your way!

The daily watering don't bother me so much, its when I want to get away for a couple days it bothered me...a search on the net auction site...bingo I have a automatic watering system for less than $30.00 with shipping that did the trick. When I was away this past 4th of July for 5 days I didn't have anyone I could trust to water for me...this little device did the trick with no problems, it can water up to 10 pots.

I have a transformer coming for it so I can convert it to 110V and will try to incorporate it to a full time system with a little tweaking.
OTM do you have some links or perhaps more info on this? I feel the same, can't visit my folks really for more than one night away then I have to be back at my place watering

Agemon, my lights are the cheap Chinese Burples and so far so good, they are 2 1200 watt lights that draw just under 600 real watts and my investment was only $300 shipped to my door...they haven't missed a beat and have a full warranty for 3 years...I took the $$$ I saved on the high priced lights and invested it into the GrowBoss monitor.

I am the definition of cheap according to my ex-wife! :laughtwo:

I cut corners when I think I can like the DIY $10 bubble cloner and $15 Scrog net...like I told her, "I am tastefully frugal"
Spending $8 making a full functioning carbon filter because paying $150 for it is a slap in the face. DIY till yer die :passitleft:

Yea i would have saved up for one of those but i didnt want to turn the whole room into a grow room lol. Im good with two or three plants.. for now. Watch some of his videos.. growpotcheaply on youtube. I think it will help convince you, it convinced me and ive been following a few other people on here using his lights as well.
Neil is the supplier of the best LED around here. Also if you are tight on a bit of money he offers 420 members discount on his lights

Check these lights out, talk to Jimmy. A little better bang for the buck than Timber.

Don't mention Jimmy around Fanleaf honestly would not trust him, his knowledge somewhat lacks in comparison to people like Fanleaf. But yes if you want cobs that run okay at a cheap price then thats the way to go

I have been looking at the COB's as a upgrade down the road, I like to DIY and building my own might be the way to go...will have to hit up a few journals and see what I might be getting myself into!:laughtwo:
Fanleaf is the oke to go to. He built a 42 cob array and spent quite a bit of money, over $4000 if I remember correctly.

Also a sweet journal to check out.

I know what you mean AP, but they are a bit costly for the products they put out. I know Ditchweed has the 250w Cree 5 cob setup and he grows lovely plants under there

I'm more interested in Timber because I wouldn't have to DIY.
Tbh wiring it all up doesn't take a genius, but I know your fear is burning down your place because of some wire malfunction, I have the same mentality about it. But you can get tons of info regarding any COB related questions either through Fanleaf or Growmau5 which can be found on YouTube. Doing a DIY enables you to run different cobs, a wider range of drivers and you can pretty much do whatever pleases you.

Thanks Patt. I've looked at Growmau5 and everything, I understand the why and how things work. But as you said burning things down is a concern. My level of knowledge with electricity is lower than none.

Plus the other side of it is these people are supporting our medicine and hobby. By investing in them, they will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible. Which is a win win for us all different strokes for different folks I suppose.

With this hobby there is more than one way to do pretty much everything. Which is awesome

Google CONTINENTAL AWS-10 Automatic Watering System Pat and you should find some info on it including how to convert it to 110V or what ever voltage you have down under!
