Omega Garden's Volksgarden Rotary Garden

i don't know if you should even use your aerocloner anyways.

in the volks, you use 3" cubes. you put the 1"ers into the hole in the 3".
so i think in this style grow, it makes more sense to clone dierctly into the cloning cubes, and when the show roots transfer to the 3" and put them in the wheel.
then go to 12/12 after a day or two in the wheel.

one sheet of cubes is like 78 sites or something, but if i were you id shoot for 90-100ish clones, and just choose the first 80 that show roots. toss or donate the rest.

good luck.

P.S. MAXXXXXXX!
what up with an update!

yup, good idea.

i just cut my tent and slid an ac unit in the window behind it. then duct taped it up.
one of the advantages of buying a cheap tent. this way i don't have to exchange outside air, because im injecting CO2. max's way blows outside air into the tent, which would create positive pressure in the tent and and then expel it (through a carbon filter is best.)

If you get a two hose mobile AC unit, you could just put it in the tent and duct each hose to one of the holes in the tent. this would achieve the same setup i have with out cutting your tent. (not exchange outside air with the tent.) then you can cyle the air as you see fit, and what fits your CO2 cycle if you have CO2.

Wow u are my ideal.I have ordered my volks and im geetting it soon.I have a question ?I am growing in an attic this is the first time i have grown in attic .I am going to well insolate my room and have an ac.How ever i want to use c02 and was wondering if the ac being on constantly would filter out the co2.I plan on using a window unit and rigging it like it was hanging in a window.Ant thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

BMBass,

congrats on the volks. Maxx is MIA for a couple days for some reason so I'll try to help you.

A window AC unit is just a heat pump. It has two radiators one hot one cold. the hot one is isolated out side and uses outside air to cool it. The inside one is cold and isolated in your room. It cools the air. There is no air exchange with an AC unit like this, so if you inject co2, it will stay in the room. AC units do not scrub the air and will not effect co2 injection.

If you are planning on building the ac unit into a wall inside the attic, then i would suggest a fan in a window or something to exchange air with the outside, as the room that has the backside of the AC unit will get very hot.

good luck.

thanks 4 the info wheel. Yes i will do a journal it will be a while before i can get enough clones to start though.I've been researching strains and came across lowryder. An auto flowering strain lowryder #2 i found a site dope-seeds.com says grows 17-19 in and yields 20 - 50 grams per plant. I was thinking of ordering enough female seeds 40 maybe 50 to start untill i could get some moms going ,any thoughts or herd about that strain.

i had (10) LR#2 in the wheel this turn.
I had to run them 12/12 because of my other strains. they stretched (i guess cause the 12/12 cycle?) the biggest girl is 2 feet now. i had to take them out. i'm still flowering them for seed, in case i'm gonna try again under 16/8 or higher.

but i have my mind set on trying either some auto lemon skunk (10"-14" max) or something from shortstuff seedbank because they get 10"-15" maximum. they're on that same site. it would be expensive to fill the wheel the first time, but you can get enough seeds the first time for the rest of your life. lol.

If you are thinking of finding a "mom" in LR2 stock, forget it - they are an AF strain, so the "mom" would just flower and finish. Not to mention that it's pointless to clone an AF.

thanks wheel i just checked ur thread and seen the #2s i saw another thread where someone was 30 or so days in with them and still no flower. It said on dopeseeds web site sit 20hrs lite 4 off was best maybe that has something to do with it.I think i'll hold off and just try some other strains ,but i will defantly get some feminized so i get it going and start so moms . thanks

i wasnt going to clone ld #2 .I was just going to run it the first time so i get so other strians going to take clones. Thanks 4 info

That's what the peanut gallery wants to hear

++Reps for stepping up to the plate

Maxx is MIA for a couple days for some reason

He signed in yesterday, just must not have had time or pictures to satiate the growing restlessness of the crowd ;)

Just out of curiosity, what's the benefit of using an autoflower variety? Having the ability to clone is truly what makes growing economical. Not to mention the ability to make the plant most any size you wish. If plants are growing long and stringy, that means you need more light. I plan on using an adjustable electronic ballast 1000/750/500 and pumping as much light as they will take without frying them. My Volksgarden has not yet been delivered thanks to local fires, which is actually fine since I'm waiting on my mothers to mature enough to put out the number of clones I will use. I believe any indica dominant strain should work well in the machine. As usual, it seems the hardest part of growing, is practicing patience.

I hadn't even thought of it in that sense. My current sea of green is a seed crop with 13 varieties. I had four different males, (Ice, Crystal, White Widow, and Mr. Nice), pollinating my various females (AK47, Mazar, GDP, Trainwreck, two varieties of SSH, Bubblegum, Chocolate Thai, Dutch Haze, Blackberry, Godbud, Mr.Nice, and an OG strain). I love variety, so I use both methods. Some of these varieties mature very quickly, and since I prefer to harvest early (for the "soaring" high, as opposed to the heavy narcotic high) I have been able to produce short clones in as quickly as 6 weeks growing in soil. What I read about AF varieties is that they are often not as potent as photoperiod varieties. I suppose this is being perfected through breeding practices.
