I'm not really sure what you mean. It's a glass tube. The "official" Cool Tube products that I have seen came with 6" duct adapters (round, of course) on the ends. IIRC, there's an 8"-sized one, too. You'd add your own fan (and ducting).

You'd need it if your light source produced enough heat. You'd probably want it if your light source was not water resistant, just to be on the safe side.

The bigger issue I see with LED is... They are not 360° light sources, lol. Therefore, you'd need a sufficient quantity to construct a setup that mimics a 360° light source (otherwise, you're defeating the whole purpose of the rotary garden).
