Oldsmokey Goes Hydro

Yeah that’s rather inhumane to call in the National guard to kill something without getting to use their guns.

would have been cheaper to turn Ted Nugent loose in Minnesota.
They asked him, but he demanded giant ovens to get rid of the bodies.

What a missed opportunity to have one hell of a cook out! Fire would have surely killed the flu.

And now for something completely different.

So I want to build a dry sifter. The mesh will be a bucket with the material inside. A motor will slowly turn the bucket giving the agitation needed to knock off the trichomes. Its a popular design, but they are getting outlandish money for them.

This is a very vague description. Assume the bucket has reinforcement and isn't just made ot stainless cloth.

So, my questions are...
Should I bother with more than one mesh size?
If not what would the size be?
If so, how many different sizes should I consider and why?

This whole thing started with a want to make a flat vibrating sifter, but I believe this would work better.

My end target is to make bars of hash, but I want to use hash oil for a binder, so its more plyable like opium

She was one of the kids that would sniff the ditto pages before a test. Its a slippery slope. Look at her now. Huffing vinyl on the way to accounts receivable. Sad really

I make dry sift from my trim with 110 mesh silk screens from da zon 20$ :D They are flimsy Tho

Yep. A tumbler style one would be a cool build. Ive been looking for bushing material at work for a cage Im building for my rosin plates. I don't get much lathe time these days
I wish you were closer. I have friends with machines we could use. Some for free.

McMaster Carr will have the material, and possibly have some made already. Just don't go with oil impregnated. There are bushings with graphite in the bronze so its much cleaner. They use it in clean rooms so there isn't any grease contamination. You could just use bearing bronze and lubricate it with mineral oil... that would be cheap

The more I think of it, ill bet money they would have either complete bearings, or something you could modify. Beats starting from scratch

I love bubble but my shoulder is shot. Dry ice hash is good too. Lot easier for plant material to get mixed in tho
Honestly, im not sure that I care if there are little green flecks in it

There may be a few of you who have never heard of McMaster Carr. Its known for 2 things. Its a hardware company that basically has everything. They can be very expensive. Its kinda like what Grainger has become in the past decade or so, but much better in my opinion. if you can find it there you can find it somewhere else. About half the time I just use them for ideas, then bone out and buy it somewhere else. Anyway. I just wanted to share that. Sometimes you'll need something that no one at home depot has heard of.
