From looking it looks like they might come back. But the roots don't look good today. So I a thinking I might yank them. I have 3 seeds in vermiculite this morning and 2 on there second day in the paper towel so I do have a backup plan. I will be put up some pics in a bit.

Did you ever reach out to the vendor and ask them what type of caustic poison they are selling? I'd agree with what Stltoed has been saying, something was messed up with the batch you have to cause that damage so quickly.

See if they will send you some new poison for free to finish these plants off with. Then you can start a new grow with the Z9 and undamaged plants.

Not gonna lie, I do like phantoms idea of letting the rat poison finish the job. At least the system will squeaky clean everything prior to the next group.

So I think they would probably survive I took off the dried up fans last night they will probably lose a few more. But what I don't like is how the roots have gone from White and vibrant to Brown and limp.

Wipeout. I would be shocked if the plant ended up like that without root damage. Well you don't have a ton of time in them... maybe its best to make a good bye salad and bring on a new group. Sucks.

Those roots don't look happy, and if you had time or inclination you could probably trim them and have the clean growth above start again, but starting from scratch will be a lot less stressful.

The plants will come back theres no doubt, the new stuff looks untouched and ready for action. Losing those leaves is no problem at all, but the roots may take a while. Seems like with new seedlings on the way you've already made up your mind.

Here are my top three suggestions in no order.

If you prefer a softer setting because you’ve grown attached then I would suggest this

I don’t openly cop to this, but I was overwatering... in hydro.

Sounds messed up right?

Short of it is I was torching my plants, and the symptoms were all over the map. Over/under fed. Def/excess of something, and more. It was ridiculous to say the least.

Sought out a local expert that I know, and yep... overwatering. In hydro. Passive hydro, but still hydro.

Dunno if it ramped up the cycles too soon or what, but first time in 4 runs in dutch buckets that its happened. Wasn’t even on my radar.

It is now though, and I’ve accounted for that with a less frequent schedule earlier on. 2x/day to start, 4x at transition, and 6x mid flower. System cycles for 15min each time.


I had been starting with 4, then bumping to 8 after 4 weeks of veg. Not a problem until this last batch. Oh well. We all learn something new every day.
