Backup plant Green Crack might end up replacing the mutant plant.

The pH down I am using is really been watered down I won't be buying That brand again Mega Mass is the brand incase anyone is wondering. I am expecting to see more vigorous growth in the near future. That's all for now enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Grow On Stay Medicated :yummy::lot-o-toke:

Hydroponic grows are really slow to start but yours look great. I tried to find the nutrient brand you are using by going back 3 or 4 pages and gave up. As a chemist I checked the concentration of commercial pH down 40 years ago and found it was 5% active. It is a huge rip off. Good thing you have the reserve seedling

I probably should of grow them another week before planting. I will get more ph down from where I got the nutes from there's in not so diluted. Here are the nutes I am using.

Looks about perfect, Brother! :bravo:

FYI, on the PH down, you get a lot more bang for the buck if you buy the powder and dilute it down yourself. Even cheaper is to pick up some battery acid from an auto parts store. :Namaste:

Thanks Roostifer. The diluted ph down I chalk it up to greedy manufacturers.
Grow more makes a pH up and down that is 30% stronger than Gen Hydros versions. I personally wouldn't use products that aren't meant for pH calibration because you can introduce other nastiness. For instance, don't ever use a Silica product to raise your pH. This is very popular, but not a good idea

Can the silica lead to the soil ph rising up?

That depends on who you ask. I would say that a Potassium Silicate salt would build up over time, which would definitely raise the pH.

Silica in hydro can be a pain in the ass. Potassium based silica products can be unstable and lead your water pH all over the place. But, using it as a pH adjuster breaks the first law of Silica use... always add Silica to a reservoir of clean water first, before any other elements. Silica doesn't play nice with other additives, and will quickly lock out other nutrients.

Thank you for explaining and that makes sense not to use it as a ph up. I’ve read the same about starting with silica first and after that other alkalis and then on to the acidic additives.

You should look into Silica its an amazing element and one that really changes your plant for the better.

If you use Silica, don't bother with Potassium Silicate based products. The molecular orientation makes it unavailable to the plant. Use a product with mono-siclicic acid. Its much more stable and broken down to a point that allows the plant to easily use it

Silica is bitchen stuff It will keep your plants safe from heat, cold. It helps build the vascular areas giving a strong floem and xylem system. It will help against bugs and P mildew by actually hardening your plants and tightening the gaps between cells. Honestly, this is a very short list of benefits. Take a second to look up Silica... its amazing stuff

I’m already discovering that Siliclicic acid is not so cheap lol. Gonna spend some more time looking around but it’s something I’d like to try.
