OldMedMan's 2nd Grow 5 Strains and AirPots

I know you were asking Groover, but I figured I'd chime in since I've used PBP nutes and additives in Soil, Pro-Mix, and Clay.

You're pretty on-track with the pH. My experience was a pH of about 6.2 is optimal in soil. With a drift of about +- 5.9-6.5

You've got the right idea with the nutes as far as the levels go. I have found these nutes to be very forgiving. And you will want the additives. Cal/Mag and Liquid Karma. The LK is not cheap, but you can go a little light on it and its not too terrible. And it greatly improves the uptake of the other nutrients. Basically for a normal feeding, I use a general ratio of 3 : 2 : 2 of PBP Grow/Bloom : LK : Cal/Mag+.

The gotcha for me would be the rain outside. Not sure how it would affect measurements. I think I would just use that ratio. Let the plants take what they want. If you see they need more nutes it would either be because the rain is flushing the pots, then I would add smaller ppm more often. Or if its not raining and they still show any defficiancies then just raise the levels.

Last thought - these are nicely balanced nutes. I for one would not be afraid to push them till you see a little burn. Then back off. I feel like the nutes are balanced enough that even at extreme levels they don't tend to lock out.

:goodluck::goodjob::peacetwo:

Edit: Re the Silica - that's for cell strength and gives them extra health in harsh environments - I would definitely be using that at full label strength given your weather. And as far as adding the other FF nutes - I would not do them in the same feeding. Each line is balanced.

Hi PaPa Are you kidding Buddy? I always have an ear for what you have to say.:grinjoint:

I have read allot of good things about these nutes and you just confirmed it.
Even better than I thought. It's nice to know they are forgiving too.
The Liquid Karma I will have to pick up. I will go full strength on the Silica Blast.

Truthfully the girls all look great. I can't believe their growth. It makes me smile all the time. It just seems to me that are using up all the nutes that are in the soil. That's why I want to feed them, even though they seem fine.
I feel much better because you, groover, and everyone else is here to help me. Thanks. :cheertwo:

Oh! I threw the FF nutes away they were old and dank.:grinjoint:

Papa's right too. Everyone that grows in soil does everything slightly different and to their own preference which really demonstrates how forgiving it is. You'd have to be way off to botch a soil grow IMO. The new drain is cool but not as cool as the concrete saw I hired to do it. What a beast. Same here. None of the new stuff is raised. My room and the workshop. It's just a soak drain so if it really floods I don't think there's much to do but sandbag the doorways and cross the fingers. Mother nature is full on. I've seen a yacht end up on someone's back deck. Messy. Amazing, brutal, wonderfull.:peace:

Mate did you see my first grow? I burned those poor things constantly. Way....Off!
I have yet to see a concrete saw. Must be something ..... mucho power.
I put down a slate floor once and wore out many diamond edge blades.
I might just look one up on the web, just to see it.:grinjoint:

Know what you mean about sand bags and crossed fingers.:rasta:
That night when the water came up to my door, I had a plan. Save my computer first and then to go wake up Joanne.:rofl:

Mother nature is full on. It sure is groover, been through some earthquakes in Cali and here. The one here was a trip. Sounded like a freight train.:smokin2:

When we were in Longbeach in 87 we had the pleasure of experiencing the Whittier quake. We thought a truck had hit the building at first but then it kinda kept going. We weren't scared coz we didn't know ant better. It happened around breakfast time. The mexican cleaning ladies were going mental.:biglaugh::peace:

We weren't scared coz we didn't know ant bette

I hear that. I was in a water bed my first one and I was just kinda like wtf?

When I realized what it was I couldn't get out of that water bed fast enough.

You see it was Joanne's water bed and it had these 8 big ass mirrors above the bed. I didn't want those things to fall on me. Well, you have to have some reason to marry her.:rofl:

By the way I still sleep in it, mirrors have been gone along time. :grinjoint:

You're so crazy:smokin:...

I had me one with the mirrors on the headboard, it sucked getting out of it too. Back then I was working on straightening out a Lesbian, but she liked the girls too much she left me for a nother girl... but I did wake up to the bed moving and her and a friend at the foot of it once:grinjoint:

I concur. Pics please :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

After all i am a lesbian trapped in a mans body.

Just checkin in to say hey OMM. I think those airpots sound perfect for growing in the tropics. I would imagine you would have all kinds of headaches if they were in normal pots.

That one was right as I was going to class. You could see the wave of the quake energy come right down the hall. It was like a cartoon. Lockers falling over. It came straight down the hall - was crazy. A wave in the cement.

Re: heeeeeeelp

helo i live in wales, in the uk if you dont know where wales is. im growing 3 week old white cheese and normal cheese plants, they had a bad start but maintained a healthy green couler. they are only now on there second true leaves is that a normal grow rate, im growing in a propagator and a prety big plastic tent, useing tomato nutrients, their roots are doing well and ive suprisingly maneged to keep there stems about a cm tall. im putting 14 normal cheese seeds in the grow tent, any tips would be great, is white cheese an actual strain i think its a white rhino cross with cheese?
thanks

:welcome:wiggle:welcome: Great to see you on 420.:welcome:
And welcome to my grow.:cheertwo: Yep, I know where wales is. Love the way you speak english, I wish I could speak Welsh . Sounds beautiful.. I watch Big Brother from England and have seen many pictures of Wales.

Your plants sound fine so far. If you could post a picture of your tent so we could see how your set up, then we could maybe give you some help or tips.
Peace my friend and once again :welcome:

So here I am reading your post OMM, it's serious and everything, right, biology, pH nutrients etc etc, for like three pages! I was trying to absorb it all and learn new and interesting stuff, then all of a sudden, bang! I was wondering how long it would last!

Groover started it all off.....

Groover said, " The mexican cleaning ladies were going mental"

Followed by a picture that I'm still trying to get out of my mind with OMM discussing beds and mirrors!

OMM said, "You see it was Joanne's water bed and it had these 8 big ass mirrors above the bed. I didn't want those things to fall on me. Well, you have to have some reason to marry her."

Then the kid has to get in on the action with every man's dream situation.....

siscokid said, "Back then I was working on straightening out a Lesbian, but she liked the girls too much she left me for a nother girl... but I did wake up to the bed moving and her and a friend at the foot of it once"

This one is related to sisco's entry into our secret desires!...
Nic said, "After all i am a lesbian trapped in a mans body."

Not sure I want to look?
siscokid said, "Here is the pic. of me when I was young and owned a water bed. "

Well it's good to know that we're all back to normal now!
:scratchinghead:

Nicademus guess your crazy as the rest of us:ganjamon:

Nic you are so right, these AirPots seem to be perfect for here. I did pots last grow and it was trouble all the way through. :peace:

groover and PaPa The deed is done, all the nutes are in. Believe it or not the pots had already started to dry out. Run off was 5.9. We are sposed to have more rain tonight, if not I will give each of them a gallon of RO water.
groover, they must have changed something because no milky color when I mixed in the Silica Blast in water.
Again Thank You guys for the help. :cheertwo:

Always fun to stop by.
Just curious with all that room you have growing outdoors (you do don't you?). Have you attempted to grow a ground cover?
Looking forward to seeing updated pics.
The one from 73 was scary. I remember 73' walking to school, 3rd grade in my bleached (tyedye style) bellbottoms and suede fringe vest and my earth shoes.
;)
