Cool, that seems simple enough. Make that and hook a duct line from it to the bucket contents to cool... Why would you not just put 32 oz of ice in the water or pour ice water into the res to do the same thing?
I am planning on buying an ac unit for my grow room before summer... I am hoping that should help res temps...

The problem with ice in your tubs is roots HATE ice. When they make contact with a ice bottle they will freeze and just break off.

I'll show you what I do for my closet veg-moms to cool 1 tub. Still a small pain in the ass, but I dont mind now in winter so much.
I'll go take some pics.

By the way, what is up with those brown roots? Should they not be white as can be? What is causing them to be so brown?

I'm pretty sure that upper brown shit is from when I didnt check water level for 3 days and it got low. Or it could have been from in veg when temps were too high.

Light staining from the color of the nutrient water can happen and is fine. Notice that which is in the water is nearly white. It smells nice and fresh too.

Anytime (imho) we have discoloration it's our fault. We screwed the pooch somewhere. For me it was during veg before I used a bath of cooler water surrounding the one tub. When I put liters of ice in the tub roots that hit it froze and died. For a number of days the water temp was too high at over 73, but I dont recall exactly how much it was.

Notice the jug in the outer bath. I change this out 2-3 times daily and it keeps the whole tub just cool enough. It's a cheap bandaid to doing it right.

I am good with band aides... I will be doing along these lines real soon. I will go freeze a few jugs to place next to the bucket... My main concern is the clones in the clone machine. That was where I had high temps....

Again I also had to raise the lights back up as they started burning the leaves on the clones and new seedling/clones i got...

Place them in an outer bucket, not inside the bucket where your roots are. You'll be sorry if you do. trust me.

Well all I can say is the ladies like flowering.... Since I moved them to the flower room they seem to be doing awesome. Had to add some water to the buckets last night as the drip rings were not dripping.... So I went to one of those machines and got some RO.
I also added a 6" inline duct fan from Home D . The fan is attached to my air intake line to help bring in fresh air. I placed the line dead center of the room. I think I will still add 1 more for the veg room along with another exhaust.
I also had to raise the light in the veg room again as the NL#5 was getting burned.

Not much new to report. Changed all buckets water last nite and increased the nutes. The ladies are showing their sex. Was not concerned as they are all clones... but still happy they are showing...

And lots of them.

Typical Indica.... The sativas are taller plants but thinner leaves.There are 2 of them too.... I was out there staring at them the other night and said the same thing "Damn thats a BIG leaf!!!"

So I know I am a fool..... They say if it aint broke don't fuck with it....Well I don't listen to them.

Just because the plants are so full and thick and bushy I wanted fill in lights. I added 2 small watt LED panels to fill in. I figured it can't hurt. Who knows, thought I would try it.

The lights don't look like they make any difference...They are on. I have 2 more for the other side of the room too.

Today is a sad day.

I lost my 2 Northern Lights clones. When I flipped I lowered the lights and burned them, then stressed them. Now they are dead.

My nine clones in the clone machine are doing well. The Flower room is also doing well.

Awww sorry to hear about the NL clones but you still have the other 9. Gonna post any pics of the flower room?

I am going to have to raise the light by Sunday. They are surely growing an inch a day all over. They loved the increased BPN 2 part and increased Liquid Blue Bloom Nutrients.
I think the LED's helped the 2 plants they were closest to. Plants look amazing, especially for my first grow. This is fun. Can't wait to try it. Target date 3-15...

Well I think I am going to buy the EBB & Grow 12 site system. I found it for $400. Actually it's not the C.A.P. Ebb & Grow system, I like the Big Boy system better.

The reason is it is compatable with my other buckets. I can lift the netpot out and place in the 5 gal bucket for flower.

Any comments or suggestions on this before I drop $400.... anyone ever use this system?

Why not do a little handy work, buy only a chiller, and external pump, some pvc, uniseals and make your 5 gal buckets into RDWC?

Your big expense would be a chiller at $200 or so, and the rest is pretty negligible.

Dang it now I have another variable..... So use the chiller as the res? Is that the suggestion? Cause if that would work I like it...Please explain a bit more...

OK I am gonna say its your fault....Ilikebike..... I went and stuck some seeds in. Figured I would start with 3 Grandaddy Purple , 4 Chem 4D and 4 Blueberry Yum. Its all your fault....LOL Hope it works out. I would be happy with 1 of each as fems..... I think I am going to stick the clones in rapid rooters too....they been having res temp issues... I really think that was the problem with the NL #5. got too hot and res was too hot...
