These are the three plants currently on the right side of the grow.
PC screen crossways in front and MT and BB screens side by side behind that. About 3 1/2 weeks into flowering.
THAI STICK
I've been supercropping it like crazy since the last pic. And it hates it so much that it's keeping it quite tameable so far. Seems encouraging...
Less encouraging, it appears to be a male. Even though the balls are teeny right now. Well, it's obviously a male...
I couldn't see close enough by eye to confirm, but this pic from the old iphone at maximum magnification pretty much makes it undeniable. I'll chop it tomorrow since I can't think of a use for it's pollen really.
I have 3 or 4 more seeds. Hmmm....maybe I should watch PotChimp's experience with it for another week or three and decide whether to sprout more. I'll probably have my hands full with the 3 Malawi soon enough too... I do like the idea of growing all three of the sativa landraces though and don't want to just give up on the Thai Stick so easily.
I'll be down to five plants in flowering then. And four very soon when the WW is harvested. Then 3 not long after that when the PC is harvested. I'll switch one light off after the WW is harvested.
Here's what I have in veg.
Five clones left from the final air-bubble experiment session, a newly rooted BB clone, and the 3 Malawi sprouts.
Silicon seem to have been making my stems much stronger. They are difficult to supercrop, and feel wiry and tough.
They are looking a bit strange in the last week or so. Like they're overwatered. I did soak them down a couple times- but nothing I haven't done before. Their stems are purple and leaves are droopy and a bit strangely coloured, as if a bit N deprived or- overwatered... I'm wondering if it's related to the silicon. Could be just a coincidence and I left them wetter than I thought I had. Also, night time temps have been dropping so that could be it now that I think about it. Still, I'm wanting to blame the silica.
Another note. My 10" vent fan in flowering room which I've had forever, has been starting to make a bad sound at times, as if bearings are going. I'll have to get a new one ASAP. I'm pretty sure I'm in real trouble if it breaks. I seem to remember Pigeons looking for a new fan a while back I'll go see what he has going.
I made a batch of incredible tasting honey today in the MB machine. I used a heap of dried Labrador tea, which is a plant that wild grows around here. The flavor is amazing. I had to restrain myself from drinking most of it just now
. Next experiment up tomorrow is wild cranberry honey.
