Oh No - It's A Green Hole! - Reverse Thrusters! - Dammit - Too Late!

Here are a bunch of pictures from my Blueberry harvest tonight. She turned out to be a nice one, though quite different than I had thought she was going to turn out. Without an actual proper inspection of the buds, because of the super lightning fast speeds I move at when I'm doing everything in life, I had misjudged the structure of these buds. For some reason I had thought that this plant would be very easy to trim but....No. Surprise! surprise! Instead it was a whole bunch of work and I'm just finished up now. I had expected the sugar leaf on this plant to be stiff and strong and brittle and easy to work with, instead it was very sticky and gooey and floppy and gluey and difficult to trim. As you can maybe sort of see in the last pic- the branches are made of a somewhat loose and floppy collection of buds and I had to trim around each budlet. The buds themselves are dense and crisp though and have a wonderful blueberry scent. Though the scent got a bit strong in the nose after a few hours trimming. It was a long night....

This blueberry grew easily and didn't fuss or complain much at all like some of the other girls. I'll definitely keep her around for a while.

Congrats on the Harvest Weaselcracker, I'm pretty quiet around your parts, don't know why but your thread overwhelms me. I feel a bit like a little fish in a big fishes pond. I know I shouldn't feel this way and will work hard to correct this. Keep up the good work you do for the full 420mag community. You Sir are awesome :Namaste:

Wow Mr Am4zing Yes definitely better correct that attitude right now cause really I'm sure not any sort of big fish at all- and yes there is lots of room in this pond. If you only knew how humble and non impressive things are around here you would be impressed. If this was a real pond I wouldn't be inviting people in trust me, but the virtual pond of 420 is a different thing. I've been enjoying your comments a lot and you made me laugh really hard on Sue's thread yesterday. PleSe forget this big fish crap I'm not one-
^ see look - to prove it- I can't even spell 'please' properly and I'm going to leave it unedited just to show you how humble I am.

Edit- I spelled your name wrong too...

Beautiful trim job Weaselcracker. You have mad skills sir. :bravo:

Thanks Sue! (you know I'd argue with you on that point but I know it's pointless). Your plants are looking lovely today by the way. I don't know what hocus-pocus you get up to over there but whatever you're doing it seems like it is now right on track. Does it seem this way to you?

That sure looks tasty lol

Thanks lexort. :). If I could save this blueberry and cure it till midwinter or so I think it would be amazing. I have one in veg (a clone of this one I harvested, which was from seed) and a bunch of clones of that clone started and I'm looking forward to growing it some more. I'm hoping some of the difficulty of trimming can be avoided somehow. Not sure how- except that I think the buds are capable of being grown so they're ...crisper and not so bloody gooey and clingy.
I'm not sure how long this strain is supposed to take but this plant flowered for 12 weeks and could have sat another week I think- though it was pretty ripe.

I am working on it I can assure you. I know that everyone here at 420 is so welcoming, I don't think there is anyone here who thinks they are a big fish, I hope I didn't cause any offence as non was intended.

Ha ha. No not at all! There seem to be a few 'big fish' that come through 420 every now and then but apparently it's a full time job having to go around pointing out all the time how 'big' they are, and usually they get bored on 420 and move on to seek bigger fish to fry, or to get fried with, as it were. Or the mods fry them.

Hey there Weaselcracker. I've been away for a bit so just stopping in to see what you've been up to.
Are there any cool Myth Buster experiments going down over WC Farms at the moment?

I see you've been battling nigh time RH issues. What is the RH like outside of your grow space? Would it help to run your inline fans at night to excavate the high humidity air inside of the tent with lower humidity air from outside? Maybe use a combination temp/RH controller for your fans if electric usage is a concern.
Would something like this maybe be of help with your high lights off RH situation?

I run my fans 24/7 in order to keep things cool during lights on as well as to RH under control during lights off. Works like a champ.

PS - I think we'd all appreciate you NOT posting any pics of you wearing a leopard skin banana hammock while posing with trophy road kill. LOL!
You may end up being banned from the site for posting something like this regardless how my MJ plants are in the pic. Fair warning bro.
:peace:

It's funny Uncle C, I was thinking today about that comment you made about myth-busting. I would love to be out busting myths everywhere but I kind of draw a blank on what to bust next. Something will bubble to the surface eventually. I wish I had one of those home bud analyzers they're trying to develop. I would test and see how fast the buds actually degrade with age, and also with light exposure.
If I wasn't in such a hurry I would be washing more of these buds. I do it sometimes but usually I am only around for a few hours here and there and don't have time to deal with the logistics of it.
Here's a picture of my humidity and temps outside right now.

Must be a dry night. Actually I'm not sure the humidistat is equalized yet and if I left it outside longer I expect it would rise to 100%. Usually it's at 100%. Sometimes in "summer" it gets down below 100% but in the winter it's usually like....120%, or 150% or even 200 or 300%.But this old meter only goes up to 100 so that's usually what it stays at.
As you can see- not much help in that direction. But what little help the dehumidifier I have in there is giving me is apparently almost/barely enough to keep the mold away -because I'm seeing very little of it now. :thumb:
As for the leopard skin - yeah I kinda hope it doesn't come to that too... But the mods would know better than to ban a friend of VP's now wouldn't they?

Which gets me (back) on to thinking of the subject of great leaders and so I will leave you with a few immortal quotes from George W. No doubt already read and enjoyed by most here but worth re-regurgitating.

There are cameras nowadays that have been developed to tell the difference between a squirrel and a bomb.

You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on.

The future will be better tomorrow

And probably my most well worn favorite because I spend a lot of time at sea
I know the human being and fish can co-exist peacefully.

And if human beings and fish can do it- why can't we?
Goodnight friends

Ole' G.W. sure does have a way with words doesn't he. LOL!!

Your humidity levels remind of back home along the Gulf Coast. There are no cheap and easy tricks that I know of to deal with such high humidity levels other than what you're already doing.

Banana hammock bathing suite, Uncle, how can you recommend he not do this?

Use a big cola to rub on your chest. With "I'm Too Sexy" playing in the background.

Ok ok I'll stop. But for 5 minutes of this morning I had Weasel on the brain in banana hammock :P

Maybe weasel hammock would have been more appropriate.
"I'm too sexy for my weasel" playing in the background with Vlad doing his best shirtless break dance moves. LOL!!

Apologies for polluting your journal with these disturbing thoughts. It's Pigeon's fault......

Nasty RH issues WC. I guess I got it pretty good here as I need to humidify my grow room most of the time. Need to get a new humidifier soon as the nice one I had bit the dust. About $100 one I got at the local thrift store for $10 and had good controls that kept the RH right where I would set it. An evaporative one too that used very little electricity. Nothing but steamer ones lately tho I'm keeping my eyes open for one at garage sales and the thrift store.

Having no trouble at all keeping my RH at 40% now but will have trouble getting it above 40% as soon as the colder weather sets in.

Hey weasel i was thinking about how you said the blueberry was a pain to trim so I gotta ask do you dry trim or wet trim. I heard try trimming is easier but i haven't tried it yet so I don't know for sure. Was just thinking about it.

That is a visual I could have definitely done without Pigeons LOL

Yes -rather disturbing you guys! Damn! Now I'm having second thoughts about the whole whale hunt. How am I going to back out on the president though? Is it possible we won't get a whale and won't have to do the photo op? Unlikely... I picture it being one of those things where the presidential aides sorta herd a whale from around the corner, after forcefeeding it vodka and then we just leap out and karate chop it or whatever and if all else fails no doubt they'll just break out the stuffed whale and send it around the corner, douse it with fake blood and we will still have to prance around for the adoring citizens.
Oh well. A man's gotta do why a man's gotta do sometimes. Suck it up and prance, I guess.

The dehumidifier is doing it's job- or that pineapple chunk mess would be in big trouble by now. I found a couple tiny areas of budrot on the WW, and one tiny spot on the BB. So I suppose it borderline, but I've got myself mostly on the good side of the border. After having Rh in the 90s for so long and sweating about mold and rot every time my buds got nice- this is a huge relief and I can tweak the system from here on. :thumb:
