The Blueberry I ran when I first started growing threw out new pistols up to and even after chop. I have a some Haze I'm running now doing the same thing.

Hard to go by the pistols if there is Sativa in the genetics.

Have to take a close look at the trichomes I suppose.
Yep the Gelato is doing exactly that.
Never seen so many hairs and it's going to be harvested tomorrow.

Harvested the Hiydrow yesterday. 1,194 grams WET. After drying and curing and manicuring should come out to about 239 grams which is my exact average of 8.5 oz I also got an entire 1 gallon ziplock stuffed full of extremely sticky sugar leaf, about every leaf on the plant smaller than palm of my hand was covered in trichomes, so really getting quite a bit more than 8.5 oz.

Took all day yesterday to harvest that one plant, was a sticky mess.

Congrats on the harvest.

Hard to tell how the wet weight will go.

I always wait till a week or so of curing to weigh things out.
True, but usually deducting 80% water weight is pretty close, most times it's around 77-78% so I round up to 80% as a high estimate.

My final weight will be in about a month, 10-14 days drying and 2 weeks curing and it'll be at a stable 62% where it will stay until its smoked.

Gelato harvested, surprisingly wasn't even as much as the Hiydrow. I got 1,131 gr WET -80% water weight after drying should be around 226gr which should be just over 8oz dried and cured of just bud. So total yield should be somewhere between 16.5 to 17oz.
Plus a lot of very gooey sugar leaf and 2 balls of scissor hash.
One of 3 big drops of oil I found.
The smell of the Gelato when it's being trimmed is pretty intense, almost stifling. The smell is like grapefruit and lemon peels if you made them into a perfume and then spilled the bottle. I am exhausted and very phucked up from just a little pinch of that scissor hash.

Congrats on the harvests Nunyabiz! :bravo: those nugs were covered in frost. Well done bro. That's a big haul of top quality bud!

Thanks Irie.
Little bit less than I was hoping on the Gelato but as long as I can get 8 oz per plant Iam happy.
Going to try two autoflowers next.

Welp, I just tried a first joint of the Gelato, it's way early, just barely dried I think today is day 7 drying and I jarred up an ounce of the lighter larf buds that were in a slightly less desirable place for drying and they are at 62% humidity so just perfect.

Anyway, larf bud, dried 7 days, no cure at all.
Took one hit and waited 15 minutes which is how I usually test a fresh crop.

Got quite stoned off of one hit.

I think by the time I get to the big fat buds that are properly cured for at least a month that this Blue Gelato will easily be the strongest bud I've had in decades.

This has to be in the high 20s like 27+%

I admit I am basically a lite weight when it comes to high THC but I think because of my liteweightedness that I am pretty darn good at judging the strength of weed.
And that's the most phucked up I've gotten on one hit in decades, it was like an old knife hit of fine hash.
Cant wait until this gets a good 3+ month cure on it.

If you're happy with the test smoke you know you're gonna be overjoyed with the fully cured bud. Nice Nunyabiz! :slide:

Yep, quite pleased with the test smoke.
After my wife and I finished off the rest of that joint over the last couple days I can definitely say this is the most potent bud I've smoked, ever, in over 47 years of enjoying cannabis.
For it to taste as good as it does with zero cure I cant wait to crack open a jar around New Years after a good 5 months of curing.
There are Berry and Citrus flavors already coming through.

Ok, Hiydrow is in the jars.
The weight came out exactly on the button 8.5 oz.
So if the Gelato comes out as close to my estimate then should be about 8.1oz
But we'll see.

I have a huge pile of decarbed super sticky sugar leaf that I am making tea with.
Take about 1/2 teaspoon of butter melt in microwave, add about a tablespoon of the decarbed sugar leaf and smoosh it all around and mash into butter.
Put that into a tea ball with a tablespoon of dried peppermint leaves.
Steep in 8oz of hot water for 15 minutes then take out tea ball reheat in microwave for 20 seconds and steep another 10 minutes, open ball and squeeze all the butter and goodness out of the leaves.
Add just a tiny bit of honey, makes a great tea.

Yay, Blue Gelato finally in jars and a very pleasant surprise.
I ended up with 9.1 oz, a whole exact ounce more than I estimated.
The last few buds were the big spears and they did not shrink anywhere near as much as normal. They were just 2 foot stems with solid bud all the way so there was no waste at all except for that one main stem.
My gawd those spears made several really nice looking ounces.
I am quite impressed with the Blue Gelato #41, beautiful buds, not real leafy just pure bud covered in red hair, very potent, decent yield.
Probably be cracking one open around New Years with a 5 month cure on it.

So that brings this grow to exactly 17.6 oz total.

Going to let the soil set another few weeks, get the cover crop going, re-inoculate with mycorrhazae and start two autoflowers.

One will be Honey Peach CBD.
Not sure about the other one yet.

Congrats on those numbers brotha, that's a great haul of quality herb. Thanks for the tea recipe, i'll give it a go!

Thanks, yep hit just a 1/2 oz above my average so totally pleased.
I have a 64 oz Tupperware container packed tight with decarbed sugar leaf, most of it totally covered in trichomes.
Looks like enough for about 100 cups of tea.
Couple days ago drank a cup about 2pm and felt very nice up until dinner and I had really spicey hot Jamaican Jerk Chicken, lots of capsaicin and two 7% IPAs and for whatever reason that kicked that cannabis tea into high gear.
4 hours after drinking it I got absolutely fried.
Was way high for hours.

Hahaha i love that :laughtwo:

Congratulations they looks great. Buds appear very tall and healthy. I am just about finished my Green Gelato which appear to have similar structure (Sativa Like) but not as tall as the biggest Colas are about 16-18 in. Quick question did your leaves on the Gelato turn yellow? The reason I am asking is I have a grow that is just about ready with a couple days to 2 weeks left with no leaves turning yellow at this point. I used a home made Supper soil mix and have been using just water the about the last 2 weeks and still no yellowing going on to the leaves. I am wondering if there may have been to much Nitrogen in my mix ( info for my next grow). Thanks for any insite......

Yes my Gelato had a few yellow leaves starting about 2 weeks before harvest.
Although the Gelato had very few leaves to trim, it was mostly just all bud.
My Hiydrow in the pot next to it did not turn yellow though.
Same soil, same everything, although I think that pot did have more cover crop and more worms and probably created a bit too much nitrogen for flower cycle.
Not enough for full nitrogen toxicity but still bit too much nitrogen. They were just too green.
This delayed the ripening of the Hiydrow by about a week.

I now know that the cover crop and the worms create more than enough nitrogen.
So I will use less green manure to feed the worms with after the first month for my next grows.

I compensated to some degree by drying longer/slower to get rid of more chlorophyll and after a good 5 months of curing will be just fine.

Your harvest may be delayed a bit, you might even do a hard flush.
Just keep an eye on the trichomes.

Thanks. I was considering a flush but I think I will just ride this out as they look Ok over all. However I will look at less N next time in my soil mix or will curtail addition N fertilizer which may have been a mistake...

I actually started this grow on June 8th.
I am going to give a sort of readers digest condensed version for the past 12 almost 13 weeks so far.
Then do regular updates from this point forward.

I am growing in a bathtub, nothing fancy, no tent and only the white tile and white shower curtain as reflection.
I am using 7 Gallon fabric pots (Root Pouches) that are raised up off the bathtub about an inch with wire racks to give airflow all around, better drainage and also to keep the tub from sucking warmth from the soil.
The soil is a mix of Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Coco Coir, Peat, Happy Frog Soil Amendment Hydroton Clay Balls, Azomite, Green Sand, Natures Nog, and a handful of Lite Warrior in the middle to plant the seedling in.
I added more nutrients towards the bottom of the pot and gradually making the soil cooler towards the top in an effort to not burn the roots so the plant didn't start out in hot soil.

One OG Kush and one White Widow, the WW is actually 4 days older because I buried the Kush too deep and murdered the first one, so the second one popped up 4 days later.

My water is horrible, the tap is like 9.25pH and about 120PPM with 2.75 to 3.22 of total Chlorine/Chloramine.
So I started out filtering my water through fridge filter which brought the chlorine down to a trace of between 0.03 to 0.13.
I have done changes with my water that I will discuss later on.

My air temp during Veg averaged 69-76 and humidity between 60-70%

My lights started out as a single 450W LED that after allowing the plant to speak for itself told me to raise it to about 36" above it.
The light draws 200W from the wall so it is a 200W light with a predominately Blue spectrum even when set to flower, but for the first several weeks was just this one light and set to Veg only so entirely blue spectrum.
I will discuss the other LEDs added later on.

My Nutrients in Veg were entirely just the soil for first few weeks, I did start adding Recharge on June 12th.

My nutrients are Nectar for the Gods that I started two days before turning to 12/12 for flower.
I ran the light at 24/0 non-stop until flower.

I see you are using Hydrotons Jorge Cervantes uses them in his soil mix. Do you mix them in the soil or just on top like the picture

One thing I forgot to mention, not that anyone cares apparently.
But I was watering by pouring through a funnel attached to a hose which sucked.
So I bought a portable battery operated shower which is perfect for watering.
Just mix up water/nutrients in a 5-gallon bucket, toss in the little pump, hit the button and water away, works perfectly and the batteries last a really long time.

It's this one right here.

Do you know what brand and model that pump for watering is. Looks like a good investment. I Love your pics. I hope with more time and knowledge I can have a grow like that. I will defiantly be following your post and hope to steal some Great knowledge on the way.....

I used them in that grow, and use them in my vegetable grows on my back deck.
But now with the Clackamas Coots style Oly Mountain mix I use Rice Hulls, Pumice and precharged biochar instead.

I used them all through the soil and on top.
