Obliviconsent's bagseed CFL grow-2009

So I went to get the pocket microscope at the Shack. Damn that thing sucks. But tonight I seen cloudy tri's and a few amber ones. So any advice on when to harvest? The girls have been in flower for approx. 8 weeks now. I'm thinking another week or two....? any advice would be appreciated:thanks:

Well like I said it has been a fast fowarded grow thread but I will post on the yield and I am a procrastinator so you'll probably see more pics of the girls before I start my harvest, lol.

I am going for 30% amber for my girl, you might want to pull them at different stages though, less amber generally = more motivation and more amber means better relaxing / sleeping. Just a thought. More pics? :Rasta:

Thanks MountainHigh:thanks: Seeing as I have no idea on the ratio of cloudy and amber trich's I will be pulling the girls at 30%.
Man, the girls are smelling good:yummy: It's almost too tempting to sample all the effort I put in but my frekkin job likes to pull randoms. I hope my wife will like the end result.:bongrip:

Here are some pics of the girls from 01/06/10. I don't think my camera has super macro mode but I will look. But new cam accesories are always nice, lol.

Your plants look beautiful and healthy, great job man. they are realy stretching due to the distance of your lights tho, which looks like its working out for you but CFLs rapidly diminish in intensity with distance. You can put lights as close as an inch or 2 away,as long as you can hold your hand under without burning. It doesnt seem to be harming any, they look great. But you may get even better results if you move them a little closer. :peace:

Thanks for the compliments on my girls 420warrior. I only lift the lights for pruning, watering or taking pics, they are at 2 inches or so away from the tops of my girls when I'm not in the room.

I guess that explains why they look so good! I'll be watching tour journal. :yummy:

Thanks 420warrior for looking.
And thanks to you Bongmaster, Yup all CFL grow.
I looked through the pocket microscope lastnight and the girls are mostly cloudy with no new amber trich's. But I started the flush cycle using just water from here on out. I'm going to give them two or three more weeks.
Does anyone know if house flys are a big threat? They don't seem like they are doing any damage. I guess some got in before winter hit and laid eggs in my soil and they are dying in my water supply.

wow man really nice grow so far, no ph meter no temp control, no big name fertz, and bag seed with CFLs lol
your really doing a stick it to the man grow, kinda spits in the face of all the "YOU NEED THIS TO GROW" guides, i love it lol. your grow is living proof that with soil water and seed you have weed

:thanks: Linkorien, I don't want to get all the toys now beacuse I might jinx myself, lol. Not spitting, just driving in pitch black W/O headlights trying to stay in the lines.

Thanks Bongmaster. I will get feedback from peeps that smoke it when the girls are smokeable.
I'm all about the bud porn now Linkorien, lol. That's all I do is look at pics of different stages of plants.
MountainHigh, the girls have been in 12/12 for 9 weeks now. I have only seen about 5% amber on all of them. I just keep checking them every other day. I will check them tonight after work and post on any new trich news if any.

Thanks Bongmaster, My wife had picked up an ounce of schwag and the damn thing was I'd say, 40% seeds. Sh**ty deal for her, but I saved all the seeds and threw them in the freezer. So when I improve my room I will bury seeds from the same bag, hopefully with the same results.

Looked at the trichs last night after work and still mostly cloudy. I'm just 4 waterings into the flush so I'm not too worried about leaving them alone for a couple of weeks. How long is recommended for the flushing?
Only problem is the frekkin flys are starting to multiply like crazy. Every time I water they start coming out of the soil. Oh well, not too long to go to harvest time. Q? Will the flys hurt the branches during curing? There in the soil so when I harvest I'm gonna take the buckets out of the room right away and dump them in the woods somewhere. Any advise on the McFly matter will be appreciated.

1.Look for small insects on the surface of the soil. They will be active when you water or move the plant. The larvae are 1/4 inch white-bodied maggots with black heads and can be found just under the surface of the soil.

Keep plants clean of fallen leaves and debris. Fungus gnats feed on dead plant material.

Use yellow sticky traps placed near the infested plant to catch adult fungus gnats.

Water with a solution of Bacillus thuringiensis, an organic control for caterpillars, to kill insect larvae. Bacillus thuringiensis (or Bt) is a bacteria and is safe to use around children and pets.

Drench the soil with a solution of pyrethrin, an organic pesticide made from chrysanthemums. *I also spray the area where I watered with this*

Thank you very much Joe Coffee I will go to wally world to look for the yellow sticky traps. Are the BT and pyrethrin safe for the flushing cycle of my girls?, and can you find the two at home depot?

Both are organic and safe to use....

I bought the pyrethrin in a squeeze spray bottle at Home Depot...

You may have to go to a Garden Center to find the BT...
Although Bt is organic and safe to use, it will kill all types of caterpillars, including butterfly larvae. Spray only the plants that are affected.

Thanks again Joe Coffee, I will try the pyrethrin and yellow fly traps. Damn flys are bugging, no pun intended, the hell out of me. I've had no pests up until now but the damn house fly, lol.
