Nick Hardy's Big Grow 2023 Gorilla Glue Skunk 11 OG Kush Coco Peat Co2 Mars Hydro

Pretty chilled day.

The plants still growing. Rh still a bit high. That fix is booked for tomorrow evening. No drama yet. They’re big. Still damper than I’d have thought so won’t want watering until evening. That’s Ph fixed already. Turn the tap (blue buttons only tomorrow) and feed until you have enough to test.

Assembled the Co2 splitter rig. This is meant to be backup only. I have a solenoid in the Flower tent but can’t run two so I’ll have to dial in the thumb screw and trust I can dial it in to the just the Inkbird Co2 meter in the Veg tent that has my SIP in for a bit. White plumbers tape for the gas fittings. I have it all over the house! Lots of plumbing and gas fittings last few weeks.

Grow all looks good.

Such a deep rich green nearly uniform - spiky Sativas and fuller Indicas but very happy. Ph, eh? Simple as that.

Forgot to hit post earlier.

Watering now.

Took some photo's earlier because I’m a bit wowed.

The first photo I edited a bit on the phone to give a more natural “eye” colour gamut.

Second no edit.

Two Gorilla Glues - the absolute yellow runt from last week with a tall poppy sibling. Big delta in height and shape.

But nice colours and the runt is 30” (70+ CM) and the tall poppy is 50” (nearly 130cm from coco level to top. Plenty buds already with at least three weeks to go.

Right watering - nearly done. Need to test.

Love the new system. So so easy.

Meh 5.6 out. Maybe not Ph down tomorrow. Seems to be raised to 6.1 overnight. I’ve been Ph’ing down to 5.8 each day. 8-9ml each day.
Only two feeds left in the tank. They just took 45L to run off. 90L left.

Good times.

The SIP is sippin on gas.

Installed the 3 Way connector. Its controlled by the solenoid in the flower room. But metered by its own Inkbird.

The idea is the Veg and Seedling tents will generally run their own meter and solenoid between the two (based in the larger veg tent)

At moments like this with a single Co2 tank I have the option of running all three off one tank. Just adjusting manually with “guessedimation” while Flower takes precedence.

I know the main reg is sort of upside down but it was teaching with my 18 year old step son and he did really well. It doesn’t leak and I don’t look at the gauges - they just read Ok or empty to me. Next time the lad will do perfectly. He tried to fix this evening told him next time.

Just fed them. 50L so sorta 2.75L per plant. The Banners went to 5L briefly at the end. But were more like 2L now. So greedy ladies. Put 6 in got 5.8 out. EC 2.53 out. I guessed 2.6 yesterday I think? 2.8 in.

Co2 not an issue but needs a think.

Big tank should last 3 weeks. Looks like I’ll get a week if I’m lucky and I have the extractor inline way low.

I can only surmise there are 16 more plants than last time. 2-4 weeks into flower depending on how you count are peak benefit from Co2 they say. They’re drinking it all up.

Its $12 a week for a whole tank it looks worth it. They’re going huge. Light raising, Dehumidifier fixing, blue button installing tonight.

Feed and mix another 200L tomorrow. Ramp ip the EC to full 3.0 and no filler for a few days. Ph 5.8 and ride this Co2 smashing wave of growth!

Oh and defoliate, change the irrigation pipes and level the canopy by plant/light height. Tomorrow be busy. Saying that watering is so easy now. I can just chillax and look at the plants until done. No clean up. No fuss no muss.

Feels great.

Oh Outdoor grow!

So I’m going to wait until the mean average hight is same as the balcony railing and flip.

From the photo you can see maybe a couple of the tallest branches are past it already but reckon another 5 days and we’ll flower her.

Will follow up on SIP now on gas later she’s not fairing so well. But ai hope just a readjust to her new feast from relative famine.

Congratulations Amigo. :ciao:
You were nominated for journal of the month :thumb:
Great work my friend.

How do you plan to "flip" an outdoor grow? You got some pull with Mother Nature you'd like to share with the class? :laughtwo:
We keep them under supplemental lights from 6pm to midnight.

Sunrises at 6:35am
Sunsets at 6:35 pm

365 days a year. +/- 5 minutes as we’re not quite on the equator.

So turn off the the supplemental lighting (which doesn’t offer any growth just keeps them in veg)

They’ll go to flower.

SIP update.

She looks sad.

But medium was dry.

So gave her 4L of 2.4 EC nutes to go with her massive Co2 bonanza and lights.

As soon as I see the leaves improve will flip her. Maybe 3-4 days.

Ok.

My wife. Very much in her management role as my Line Manager, 🤣

Just heard me justify a particular design choice to the sparky. Who had finally just completed it. A passion project.

He looked happy. I was happy. I said “you get it it, right? You take pride in your work and you enjoy this build and attention to detail? Right? Your father before you was a commercial electrician's shop owner”
“Oh yes so much fun, and the the marijuana you give me really good!”

My wife - stop talking (bad word really bad word) babe. I know you 5 years. Sometimes you want (by now notmal bad word) blue lights. Now go let me sleep. Need cut plants tomorrow.

But yeah - I don’t care. Because I switch my irrigation system on and off with illuminated blue buttons now. Like that’s my birthday, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Eid and Hanukkah rolled into one as a gift.

Also he’s coming back in his lunch break tomorrow to raise the lights and add the pipe to help us get the Rh down way lower. Tu Da Man.

😆

Ooowww pretty blue colors! CL🍀

Its a bigtime, “OK build project finished” thing. That final thing. Almost. But yeah been a really long project.

When you have the time to choose what type of blue buttons you need you realise you’re pretty much at the end of build. We used contractors and it was tough. @Bill284 did his on his own. Well, Howie disputes this but yeah mad hard work.

My Line Manager knows I’m not buying champagne but celebrating with blue buttons 🤣

We’re both happy!

I'm my own production and construction crew, Howie too.
Nothing gets done without Howies approval. :thumb:
I'm glad you have help.
I ran 55 in coco for years all by myself.
It was great but you don't get to do much of anything else.
You need time for your other job and the family.

Keep on Rocken Amigo. :high-five:

So true that. We have a ball growing together. Teach the kid times tables with a syringe and nutrient mix making . She’s 3 years old. They’re 6 litre bottles we mix in so she’s strong on her 6 times table 🤣 she made my day micing for the Outdoor stuff. “OK , now we just want little bit of this last one “Root Boost” just half mil, one litre. So we have 6 litres of water total still. Need half. 0.5. How many in wach bottle?”
- 3 Papa. Can do 3 because other all more big
I mean its not the data source its the learning, right?

Nick & Co friends of the SIP Community since for ever
I'm concerned about the light. LEDs and sunlight are so completely different that 130,000 lux in the sun can be fine, but stick it under even 30,000 lux under an LED and the leaves can complain mightily.

I hope it's just a water issue, but if not try dialing the light back 50% and bumping it 10% a day.

Those lessons will last longer than anything she'll learn in school!

Congrats on the GJOTM nom!

I was actually planning on trying to gwt another hours sleep. But I read that and given you’re like the burger chain with your In/Out stuff Istarted thinking.

Makes perfect sense. They seem to like to stall on any big change.

Went and took a look. Same as yesterday so turned the lights down. Guess they adapt to one light spectrum and then they need to reprogram to the new one.

Thanks for the congrats. And same to you on the MoTM!

Word is the 420 web design guys complaining they need to redesign the whole website front end you win any more awards just to fit them in 🤣

Bit pf yellowing this morning which was actually expected thanks to my OG Grower local guy here.

He tipped me to the “filler” we’ve been using even on flushes. He just found out three days ago by this point in flower there’s too much Mag in it. But had yellowing for a week now across 100’s of plants. 🥲

But he warned me yesterday. He’s so good. Today it happens and I don’t need tonstress what it is - he yold me it would happen yesterday. I’ll bin the last 45L of current mix (using my downstairs blue button) Make a new one. Today I have 2 yellowing plants, tomorrow probably 4. But by Sunday flush should all be good.

Gas ran out this morning 😅

Got their last cylinder in my truck now.

Going to take the SIP off it for now. (See @InTheShed light suggestion - too much change at once) and just concentrate on the main grow for gas because these are critical days/weeks for them to get max benefit from it. Its also a pain trying to run two rooms off a single tank whilst possible is a pain. Ordered a fixed supply of one big tank on a Saturday every week from now and upgrading to two big tanks. Should be ok for our needs. Now where is my Tank Storage Facility Manager? This cylinder won’t walk itself off the back of the truck and into position! Honey…

Watered 50L. Think that was more then they needed but had an EC reading issue. Switched to the backup.

They got pretty basic nutes but 100% recommended in flower by vendor for A/B and next stage Bloom Explode (at 1 - tops out at 1.5)

EC 2.9 in Ph’d to 5.5

Why not 5.8?

‘Cause yella on three plants from the filler.

So we’re doing a little Ph swing to bin the Mag fest we have found ourselves in with 3 so far (more tomorrow - but praise be for the heads up yesterday) but as they are on full gas again I’ll save a flush for salt until Sunday when the optimal Co2 window starts to taper like my favourite graph and Magnesium uptake 😂

Girls look great though. Not colouring them down on these but you can see they’re pretty rich green and healthy?

Its my old friends with the top yellow burn. My shorthand instinctive reaction is warned about mag overload yesterday - no gas 5 hours. Light's up close. Max gas again, back off the Cal Mag and filler lower the Ph and swing tound the range.

Lets see how that pans out. But gave it quite a lot of thought 🤣

Super happy with them though.

Funtimes,

Oooh just got five logo versions for our brand sent to me for feedback so sent then off to people for feedback (not to anyone here yet just as probably not allowed or something?

I’d be cool with doing a poll @Teddy Edwards - but its a commercial thing I guess and don’t want to do that! But yeah that would be awesome to get people’s feedback on branding.

Also to me - by accident ai had my finger in front of my iPhone camera when I took a photo A clue / its the one with my finger in 😅

But it looks to me more like the colour the plants really are. Anyone has an opinion be interested. Like the contrast range flummoxes the tendency to lighten the green

Anyway plant pics.

Below.

Chicken in every pot, finger in every pic! See if there's a color temperature adjustment possible on the phone (it's under "pro" on my Samsung). Then you can slide the color temp wheel until what you see on the screen is what they look like to your eye.

Always with the support for Ukraine. :welldone:
Hehe I actually thought chicken in every pot, finger in every shot was Kanye West “Graduation” Album but can’t find it in lyrics. So then I learned its a thing in the US because of President Hoover and Great Depression era US politics which was cool to read about. Then I learned from another link actually it originated with one of “Louis Kings” of France pre their revolution (but not a famous one - like the 7th not a 14e) first coined the expression.

So poulet to Hoover!

But yeah like fully qualified not Samsung the other mob technical architect - yeah I have the apps. Can do that. But that’s my day job! If I can do it with my finger balancing the colour gamut across the range that’s more fun for me. I’ll test it tomorrow morning.

And after that - I promise to always crop out my fingers before posting!

🤣

PS - Win Krolik Win! (My only Ukranian word - I had a Ukrainian Model DJ as a tenant for about a year) I called her at her request “Krolik” It was a fun year. Non romantic.
