Newty’s Perpetual Pantry Party & Outdoor Grow Show

Hey newty... can I freeze leaf and larf that is already dried? :hmmmm:
Yes! This is exactly what I’d do with my dry stuff that I’m not ready to use yet:) I have both wet and dry trim/leaves in the freezer. Same with stems, a mix of fresh and dry.

Also I’m not sure I’ve ever mentioned the only reason I continue to do both fresh and dry is because of the following...

When I compare Fresh/frozen bud vs dried cured buds:

Fresh Harvest oil always feels more potent to me

Fresh Harvest has a more undesirable taste which I hide in edibles but it’s not great for lattes, maybe for a couple #newtybhangs :D

Dry harvest is easier to make smaller for the MB2 so I can use more herb and less oil. Also my ideal way for fan leaf oil.

Dry harvest has a more subtle taste; I actually love the taste of dried, cured decarbed herb:)

Lastly, Fresh harvest will always have a place in my process because I am impatient and it’s a way to try the effects of a new strain immediately.

Good breakdown! I actually really enjoy the fresh flavour! I love a strong weed flavoured edible I know that’s not for everyone but hey what can I say lol!

Hi Dutchy! I was planning to use it throughout all of flower until I ran out and decided Molasses should work the same with for my cheap self:D I have no idea if either work because this was my first time using it. @Preston9mm loves the stuff and I think he also uses it all through flower??
Sure do!
:high-five:

I've noticed a bit more frost when I use it. But... I really have no reference other than with Bud Candy/without BC. I've never tried molasses or any of the other terp nutes.

I dig it though...
:passitleft:

Thanks newty! And thanks for the breakdown of the differnt ways you do oil. I’m like Preston and I quite like the strong tasting oils. I love getting the full and thick fuel-y bubblegum flavour from the Afghan Skunk in my coffee, its intense! But maybe fresh has more clorophyll ad that gives extra “plant-y” flavours. Chlorophyl s quite good for us anyway, so I prolly wouldn’t mind it in a latte either... or a #newtybhang of some kind :D

So just to clarify then @Preston9mm you ran BudCandy until the end of flower cycle before your “flush” or “#noflush” not just for weeks 1-6 correct ? Lol

I run it weeks 1-7. I taper down the bud candy at the very end because I have noticed it leaving a flavor behind in my buds if I run it all the way to the end. The last 2 girls I harvested did not have that flavor again, so I think I will continue cutting that out around week 6-7.

Not even that it tasted bad, it was amazing, but every strain I grew like that tasted identical.

I know you asked Preston and I am sure he has more experience with it than I do but one in bud candy up until I start Overdrive the last 2 weeks. I only flush a couple of days in coco.

It's bud ignitor for the 2 transition weeks, then bud candy up to the last 2 weeks, then Overdrive for the last 2. If you look at AN's site that is what they recommend. I do run those additives at a little higher ratio than they recommend because i am cutting back the base nutes strength from what they suggest.

I love AN stuff for coco.

Im getting a shot of mollasses in early so it can start using it. If it works at the end of flower why wouldnt it help at the beginning right? Hit em with mycos yesterday and ill chuck some mollasses in with their feed when it comes around :D. Ill use it again near the end of flower and some in the flush.
i have changed my mind on flushing. I am gonna start doing a little more than usual. Ive noticed the taste in this grapefruit that i let fade right off is fricking awesome. I could always taste a little hint of something before and the harshness never really went away it just got better. This is a much smoother smoke and have noticed a difference in the colour of the ash on my doobie aswell. She's nice and light nearly white now, Before was a lot darker. I will be doing a test this run though anyway.

Thanks P! I’ll probably taper it out over the course of this week then as I’m in week7 flower now and I don’t think she has much time left !

Cheers Sam! I am loving the AN lineup as well so far and have no complaints! Just making sure I’m spot on with my feeding!

Thanks for the input and feedback!

Come over for one anytime!! It’s the chlorophyll taste I don’t like much lol figures I HATE EATING VEGGIES:D I tell my hubs all the time, I’m a meatatarian, plants are my friends now.

I remember you telling me this now! Thanks for explaining your experience P:)
Just checkin' in to see you in action...:circle-of-love:

Great input! I should have tagged you as well, I forget you still use AN with your coco:) I always think your using GH for some reason but that’s with your DWC.

I agree with this usage and planned to use it all through flower like bud candy. I’ll up the dose for a 3 day flush but your right, plant needs sugar and it’s creating lots of trichomes all through flower! Glad to be experimenting with you bro
Wakey bakey!!
:passitleft:

I’m thinking the hills are probably nice this week and maybe it’s time to hit the board and get into winter:D
Very nice!! I love snow, as long as I don’t have to drive anywhere in it! :D
Quick q: when you hydrate your coco, do you add calmag at the same time to the mix?

Great question!
If you are using a brick, I rehydrate it in tub in Luke warm water (temp doesn’t matter I just hate cold hands) let it get all saturated and break it all up real good while it’s sitting in the tub. To drain it, I use one of those screen drains like in the kitchen to stop any thing from going down the tub. In the summer I rehydrate in a wheel barrel. However you do it the basics are: rehydrate, let it sit in the water while you break it up. Drain it and squeeze it out as best you can and then rinse it one more time. This helps remove any nutrients/junk being held in the coco to make room for the Calcium you are going to add...Wooohoooo :p

Once I’ve rinced the coco twice, I squeeze it out good in the tub and then add 1/4 grow nutrients, mycorrhizae and full strength cal mag. I let that sit for a couple hours, drain then add to my pots and let those dry out in the tub or somewhere for 12-24 hours. Then they are ready basically. Thatsmy process with bricks! I barely by bricks now though because I’m lazy and that’s a lot of fn. work. CANNA COCO - Nutrients product line | CANNA CANADA
That’s the stuff I buy now...all I do with this is soak it in the mix I mentioned and pots. No rehydrating and it’s the nicest coco I’ve used! I’ve tried all the brands I can here in Canada and I get this from my local garden shop:)
