Newbie First Grow - Outdoors - Bag Seeds

Went out to ck on the babies this am and one of the white widows was broken. The stem just broke off and was laying still green on top of the soil. It was in the greenhouse all night. The one I left on the table last night was fine. I don't know what happened in the greenhouse last night

What makes me sad is it must have just happened cuz it was still green and not wilted at all. If I had just got stright up and not hit the snooze button twice I might have been able to save it. Hate to see a plant die. I need to order some auto seeds today

Is your greenhouse secured to keep critters out? I still worry about wildlife wiping me out.
Yes and it was up on the table...nothing ate it...the stem just broke....maybe a freak gust of wind thru the open window. The fans didn't come on cuz I have those set for off at night.

Stopped by the house to ck on my babies today and I have another boy. Going to pull it when I go back in a couple of hrs to tend to all the plants. I have some watering and weeding and tieing things down to do...but I must let that sun go down some.

My autopounder lost its helmet and looks good. The white widow looks weird...not sure what is going on there. I did some training on my babies that are planted even the two new ones I put in the ground. Will my plant that has the single leaves ever return to regular leaves?

Finally started my compost pile yesterday. Hoping I did it right let me know

I had a large tree branch break off during one of the thunderstorms over 10 days ago..it has just been sitting in the yard...it dragged it back to an open sunny area in the yard further away from the house...it chopped up some of the branches and leaves with my shovel right in the patch of green grass...it watered that....i put in the veggies scraps and chopped again with the shovel...watered again....added the two male plants I pulled out the ground..roots and all...chopped...watered....added dried grass clippings from resent grass cutting....chopped and watered....placed a carpet like tarp over it
Heat today will 100 again

Will this work anytime soon or do I need to do something else

I bought the 10 auto-fem mixed pack from Crop King Seeds. To be honest when I ordered them I didn't know what an auto was. They are pretty cool, quick to flower and a so far not real large plants. I have two plants going outside and one is almost twice as big/wide as the other. The smaller one flowered first. It'll be interesting to see how good the bud is. :-)

Last night I went to the garden to spray my plants cuz there are several that are being eaten up by something. I found this crawling around and sprayed it...then found another one chilling in the bucket this morning with susan.
I emailed Clemson university with pictures and they responded very quickly

The pictures do appear to be cicadas. Part of their life cycle occurs in the soil and they emerge in mid to late summer — that may be why you are seeing them.
They are not the ones creating damage to tomato or eggplant or other plants in a vegetable garden. Hornworms are common on tomatoes and can defoliate a plant quickly. Flea beetles really love eggplant and make pin size holes. I would encourage you to go out and really inspect the plants to see if you can identify what is causing the damage. Once you do, you are welcome to call the Home and Garden Information Center at 888-656-9988 for control recommendations or browse the website at Home & Garden Information Center : Extension : Clemson University : South Carolina.
There are many, many fact sheets for all things gardening related.

Thought I would share this can help others
