New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

Hi Gazoo, Duggan! I love Doc just like the next Brixxer but I don't get the grow chart/schedule. I'm not the smartest bulb in the shed though, ha!:rofl::rofl:

In early veg you will need to adjust the DUNK intervals, there is no way to do weekly DUNKS in early Veg

I made a LAMINATED Copy magnetized to the Light Hood. It can be written on with the ERASABLE Markers to keep track of the process.

Just for us F'ers

DRY ICE COOLING EXPERIMENT
Expecting Triple Digit heat over the next few days. Not going to turn on my AC so
figured it was a Good time to try out my DRY ICE cooling Idea

Got up early and picked up 6 lbs and placed in the bottom of My OPEN 2 X 4 X 7 Tent
over the last hour or so during the time the temp usually would be going up it has
Gone DOWN OVER 3 degrees F

Plus I am increasing the CO2 for an even easier time with the expected heat.

Lights Go OFF at 2PM just as My INDOOR Temps Start to really increase.
They come back ON at 10pm when its finally beginning to cool down in my house.

ANYWAY this shows promise for the TRIPLE DIGIT Days when I need a little extra
help without turning on my AC

Cost was 8.53 But I am sure I purchased about TWICE the amount I need for 1 day.
Hoping the second CHUNK will stay warped in plastic and in the cooler until tomorrow.

If so thats a 2 day supply ?

EDIT: Just rechecked things and it looks like that chunk was ONLY A 2 HR Supply
Probably because I had a Fan Directed at it

NOT REALLY COST EFFECTIVE @ 9 Dollars a day but an option

Hi 'G'....hope your day is groovin bud.
Couple things about dry ice.
I used it for several months about 20 yrs ago to increase CO2 levels in my gr.
It gets very expensive and is NOT worth the trouble. Also..i tried leaving it wrapped up and in a cooler ...left in my deep freeze. No matter ...it still evaporates at nearly the same rate.
Wat i was doing with it was to put pcs. in a pie plate hung right behind a hanging box fan , directed at the garden canopy.... worked but like i said very pricey.
Just my 2 'G'....cheers.

Thats my take at this point as well ;)
Much to expensive but on the Rare Super hot days just a few hours before my lights go off
it could help ease "MY Stress"

Plus I did not feel comfortable with the Store Employee. Apparently they dont train them
on the DANGERs of Dry Ice. First thing she did when opening the LOCKED Cooler was to take
a deep breath with her head over it, OH THAT BURNS, she says and then proceeded to reach in
bare handed !!!!! . STOP Please let me do it with these GLOVES hanging on the this hook.

Ya eh....it's dangerous for sure! When i was using it back then,...i really wanted it to work , and be feesable...it was not.
Plus the guy that was selling it to me was getting a bit suspicious as to why i needed so much, so often.LMAO...

Oh Thats funny Especially since while in line the lady behind me asked what do you do use that for ?
Totally unprepared for the Test I said its for my Aquarium ? thankfully there was no follow up :rofl::rofl:

Why anyone would want to drop dry ice in there Aquarium is a bit strange I would think

:rofl:..lmfao...well,..did you look strange..
:rofl:

No but probably Kinda slow as I stumbled for an answer :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Down Stairs Grow room/tent is holding
75.2F @ 68 RH "LIGHTS OUT" with another 5 hrs of Outside day light to go
Weather outside right now at 3:15 PM is 99F

i would open the door to let the Humidity Out
but that would let in the HOT air in so today they will have to
run on the Higher RH

OH Temp up stairs, my living space, is 83 at the moment. I will let it get
to 88 before I breakdown and turn on the AC, for only 1 hr ;)

Nice, lowering the RH to 65 max has really helped with Speeding
up the Pot Drying process :slide:

The Preferred method is to wait for daily Dunks BEFORE Up-Potting
so speeding things up to get the PHM into her 10 gal pot is a Priority

Lowering RH 5 to 10 points has Nearly Doubled the PHM (Purple Haze + Malawi) Uptake
to 11.8 Oz a Day :hugs: Thats a 4 day drying time frame at this point and going
up Fast

MY NOTES
===========================================

To Date, The TIMING has gone like this:

Germination dunk took 4 days to break ground (dug to uncover)
13 days TOTAL NEEDED 1st dunk (12 cups H20 + 2.5 ml Tea + 0.5 Oz TP)
4 cups stayed in so 1/3 amount stay in pot ( 0.83ml Tea + 0.16 Oz (4.93ml TP)
15 days later NEEDED 2nd dunk did GE (12 cups H20 + 4.0 ml GE + 0.4 ml Tea)
( CALLING THIS DAY 1 VEG (Seedling stage ended start of 5th node)
8 days later NEEDED 3rd DUNK 1/4 TP ( 12 cups H20 + 1.25ml TP + 0.7 ml Tea)

NOW at
11.8 oz LOSS a day
looks like She has hit a 4 day schedule

========================================
========================================

MY DUNKING PROCESS
just because
I use 1 Gal RootMaker Plastic Pots during GERMINATION & VEG,
DUNKS in my 1 gal RootMaker pots are done with 12 cups H20 + the needed product.

Each Dunk will get 2 cups top-down water during the Dunk.
Dunking is in a 1.25 gal Orchard supply bucked for 7 Minutes exactly.
After Dunk the Pot gets tilted back and forth to allow a complete Drain.

========================================
========================================

TARGET Pot Weight
NOTES:

TARGET Pot WEIGHT is 31.5 to 38.5 oz

1 gal Plastic Round Root Maker pot filled with cooked soil = 23.7 Oz Dry Weight.

Using My TARGET RANGE of 31.5 to 38.5 oz, reaching the low end of the Range
will result in approx 1 cup (or 8 Oz) Liquid weight still in pot.

( @ 31.5 oz pot weight IS 7.8 oz (approx 1 cup) LIQUID WEIGHT Still in pot )

AFTER the DUNK (7 minutes, 2 cups down top) I have found
there will be 4 to 4.25 cups taken up in the pot. Thats 1/3
of the product Used will actually be added ( 12 cups / 3 = 4 cups ) to the pot.

THINKING If I add 25% more to the MIX I can get the math to an easy 50%
of the product Added.
NOTE:
The amounts used were calculated for a 6 cup result left in pot.

========================================
========================================

DAILY LOSS TABLE

1 cup = 8 Oz
4 cups In Pot = 32 Oz

Result =
@ 4 Oz loss a day = 8 days to Dry
@ 6 Oz loss a day = 6 days to Dry
I'm here, 11.8 oz a day.
@ 12 Oz loss a day = 2 to 3 days

Picture update for

EDIT Crap had a Power failure at 1:00 pm, lights go out at 2pm so only lost 1 hr.

Interesting Fact this Run was started on Almost the same DAY OF THE YEAR as my
last run in this journal. Since I am running Another GUAWI its a simple process to look
back EXACTLY 1 year by date to see How the TWO runs compare

First picture is the GUAWI last year at 15 day VEG the second picture is this years run
at 14 day VEG

LAST YEARS GUAWI at 15 day Veg
1874932

This years GUAW at 14 day Veg

1874934

Looking very similar bud!

:passitleft:for sure

I like the way both runs of Guawi are short and compact
F1 Good :slide:

These are the Second Version ACE Guawi
F1 Hybrid
85% Sativa / 15% Indica

GENETICS
Old Malawi Killer x Tikal F5 (mango incensey pheno)

Tikal (with 75% Guatemala sativa genetics) complements Malawi with a stronger, more
compact structure
, bulkier flowers and shorter flowering time, considerably improving the
African aroma and flavor of the original Malawi with its very refined terpene profile mango,
peach and strawberry bubble gum. (I knew I was getting a Bazooka Gum smell last run:))

Tikal produces an overpowering sativa effect, Strongly psychedelic at the
beginning, with a long lasting smiling, hilarious and relaxing development.

Recently Read the following and curious if its True ?

"F1 seeds are the most sought after by breeders because they grow about 25 percent faster, and they grow larger and with more vigor that subsequent generations. "
