SEED DROP
Started in 12hr seed soak using RO Water with
(1/16 tbs per Gal)
Powder Kelp
JULY 12TH/13th @ 12:00 AM (July New Moon)
PLANTED
JULY 13TH @ 12:00 PM (Noon)
In 1st run Cooked DBHB Soil with 1/2 to 1 inch
straight Pro-Mix on top, Entire pot Dunked in RO H2O
SIDE NOTE:
I tried my best to position the seeds with pointed end up.
This is the preferred position to help the seed start and
find its way to the surface the easiest.
Both up morning of JULY 16th (72 hrs.)
The GDP Actually came up the day before but had the
Husk still on Seedling, She was stretching to much
so I had to help remove the Husk.
I think NEXT TIME I need to plant lower, don't think she
had enough travel space in soil to remove the husk ?
(only planted approx 1/2 inch deep)
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Last since its going to be slow for a while until the seedlings
get going I will just include random thoughts and pictures until
then. Please feel free to comment and add your own pictures anytime.

Recently Read the following and curious if its True ?
"F1 seeds are the most sought after by breeders because they grow about 25 percent faster, and they grow larger and with more vigor that subsequent generations. "
I do not know that breeders seek them out, though now a days they do tend to smash a bunch of f1 poly hybrids together to make gear. F1 hybrids are usually more vigorous. I would think breeders would care more about using later generations, where certain traits they care to lock down have already been worked towards.
I did not know that there was a percentage associated with the amount of expected vigor. As far as F1s having less genetic diversity this is true when compared to F2s and maybe even F3s. Usually with F1s you can expect to find3 to 5 main phenotypes. When you get into the F2 generation you really unlock a lot of recessive traits that you unable to surface in the first generation. So instead of seeing only the traits that the parents to the F1 generation exhibited, you can get hints of the "grandparents". The F2 generation is a great place to look for the special phenos. The real 1 in 1000 type of plants. How stable the F3 generation is really depends on the selected parents from the F2 generation. If you choose two similar plants that have predominately dominate traits the F3 generation should start to show more uniformity again.I found the following of interest. did not know it was a thing
"grow about 25 percent faster, and they grow larger and with more vigor "
I can see how that would be an advantage.
Have also read F1s will show less genetic diversity
Wait, I've seen this trick before.. stop using the same photos of those FAKE plantsInteresting Fact this Run was started on Almost the same DAY OF THE YEAR as my
last run in this journal. Since I am running Another GUAWI its a simple process to look
back EXACTLY 1 year by date to see How the TWO runs compare
First picture is the GUAWI last year at 15 day VEG the second picture is this years run
at 14 day VEG
LAST YEARS GUAWI at 15 day Veg
This years GUAW at 14 day Veg
Hey brother Gazoo, your plants are looking happy and healthy in there.
Cool to see the comparison picks on the Guawi! This year's looking even better than the last...
Howdy Gazoo , nice to see you back around the block.
Just got caught up on your journal. Love the info you share with us and your dedication to the hobby.
Your plants look great! Going to try and train some Maui Wauis I have similar to how you are to keep them short. Thanks again I’m sure it will help.
How are those evaporative Huey’s you got doing ? I’ve had my unit for 1year 8months approx and it’s still working well. So hopefully it keeps on keeping on.
Best wishes with the PHM battle! Will be cheering ya on all the way
Have a great day brotha Zoo!
