Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

Got quite the yellowing going on on my lower fingers, On the plant whos pistals have gone nuts, I will post a picture but I have watered and given nutes cal mag again and Bloobastic, But they were yellowing before this watering, So I was thinking maybe thirsty or light starved but the light is hitting them just fine, Maybe put some foil in the lower spots near the yellowing? Well here a pic!

Tell you what, let's try and learn something here. Go to the link below for Plant and Pest Problems. Study it and make a determination of what you think it may be. Then we can talk about it and get you on your way. I'll stick with you the whole way. Will that work for you?

Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

I appreciate that very much! I went out and got some Meta-K Earth Juice Brand, I watered last night and a little more today to supplement the New Nute. My tips are barely getting a brown dry to them, But its mainly the lower 2 fan leaves in the pic. I could just be over reacting, Plus I read that the yellowing and dying off could be the normal process of flowering, Nothing else is Dying "yet", I got a pic of some flowering for you! I thought you may enjoy it seeing as I whined so much about not having pistals, get a load of this LOL

Looks great!

I believe what you are experiencing is a deficiency. Get to that thread and see if you can figure which it is. Catching it early is key to surviving it as well. Be careful as well you don't over feed. That and over watering are common beginner mistakes.

Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

I read it from the editor 420, I have narrowed it to Nitrogen or Potassium, I have META-K I just gave it and I do have Guano but I dont wanna over do it, I will see where the Meta_k Takes me in the next 48 hours and if not I will Add Guano to it, And I havent over watered them, I heard people give a whole gallon to a 5 gallon pail, I have split a gallon between the four of them, So maybe I can afford to Add A splash of Guano to each of them, Does that make sense? And This is only in one of the 4 plants I have the yellowing!

Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

Hey Keith just read the whole journal and its lookin good through my first time eyes. Glad you didnt give up on it. I am subbed. And man you sure have been getting some great help from some knowledgeable growers out there, I sure wish I could get some of that advice on my first grow. First Time Indoor Grow! Multi Strain hint hint .
Anyway its looking good buddy and I can't wait to see how they turn out, ill be reading along.
And as far as moving out West, its bad ass and if you don't mind the rain you can't beat OOOOREGON. My opinion.

Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

Is it Magnesium Deficiency?.. Jeez theres so many things that are similar well theres the three, N,K and Mg. What do you think? And thanks for the input Fishon, All input is greatly appreciated, This is my first grow and I have been impatient at times but its starting to grow on me! They are flowering but I also have one stubborn plant that wont tell me what it is yet! Couple days Im sure, I will post all 4 of them tomorrow so you can see where they are at ..

Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

Based on your picture I will call it a Nitrogen deficiency. Your first stab was correct. It is typical for plants in veg to need a lot of N. It should respond to additional feedings of N in a few days. I have never used guano but it is my understanding that it releases quickly compared to other sources. Apply judiciously and be safe, its only a few fan leaves at this point. Don't sweat it, really. One can recover from most issues and continue on to harvest. Like most things, the sooner you catch it the better. Don't expect immediate result either and apply more correction. Give it time and be patient. It wont die on you all of a sudden.

You may be under watering/feeding. Best I can help you is like this, water till it seeps out the drain holes. Pick it up and notice how heavy it is. Heft it every day, and stick your finger in as far as you can without disturbing roots. A spoon handle will do as well. Like when Mom baked cakes. Stick it in and if it comes back clean it's dry. If there is stuff stuck to it then it is still damp. Weed likes dry spells, as it helps root development and efficient nute usage. Let is dry and water again thoroughly. You will also learn the difference between the looks of over watered vs under watered. You are well on your way.

Can we review your feeding routines and nutes used?

Fishon503 - I am on my way, see you there.

Re: Hi New Farmer here. Please help

Great Chart! And Yes My nutes are as follows, I have Cal Mag 5ml per gallon, I have Alaska Bloom, Same for that as well, I have Guano, I also have Ph up and down, But my reader is the cheapo one and is not that good.My watering have been about every 10 days or so, I have been paying attention to the moisture and dryness of the plants, I feel pretty good about it other than the Deficiency! I added The stink Bat guano I have had formenting for like 2 weeks now, My whole room smells like a bat fart times 10, I have 3 sets of 4 foot 32 watt floros for a total of 6 lights on 4 plants that I rotate counter clockwise once a day, And feel free to ask me anything you want about this, Oh and btw am I a marked man seeing as I am not in Cali or a MMJ approved state? I get a wee paranoid writing all this, I know its only 4 plants but ya know! Hey if they wanna get me for saving my life than so be it! But Just wondering.. And I really do appreciate you doing this for me, I hope its not to much on you! Thanks Bro, You know what Im gonna do is Im getting a notebook which I should have already done and Im doing a times log and every move I make , I have been a bit unorganized. I guess winging itthe first time and perfect it the second? Thanks 420 Friends!

Would it be ok to ask for your data input to be in a more organized fashion? Some structure of some kind will make it easier to relate the data and recall as well. A good example is how to start a journal. I read and try to help as many as I can and it helps to keep it all organized for quick review as I or others visit your journal. Even if it means repeating once in a while in a lengthy journal.

Example realtive to our conversation:

Medium:
Base water values:
Nutes: brand and item and app rate
Lighting: schedule currently and wattage
Watering/Feeding Schedule

I also prefer you water as I suggested. My point is to saturate and wash the roots a bit. Helps reduce potential buildups, a preventative measure in my book. Under watering will have inferior root development and will not allow it to be all it can be. The dry period causes it to develop reaching for moisture. And most of us realize early on the more roots the better. This is why coco and hydro are so known for explosive growth. Frequent watering/feedings being one reason. A larger discussion is quality vs quantity as well. As with growing we can bend some rules. But that is far beyond this grow point.

You are not alone brother..
Be careful with what you write, and what is in any pic you share.
Speak of it to NO ONE! -- no worries
:morenutes:

If your plants are not tolerant of more frequent watering, then its a matter of drainage in your medium. You want good drainage so it can seep out the bottom and not water-log. Coco excels at that in my book. But there are ways to improve or alter drainage with most mediums. Pay attention to the amount it takes to get seepage and you will be able to learn how much to water them.

Is there typical drying of the tips and a couple brown spots on the fingers too with N def? Because it looks like sulfur or zinc and maybe phosphorus too, I will take a pic of just the one finger that has it, seems the others are ok.And is there an all purpose Nute I can give them, Maybe I will invent one!
LOL highly unlikely i will do that but nice thought!

N deficiency is normally a yellowing if not enough, or burning if too much. I believe the longer you wait the harder it gets. Early signs are easier to distinguish. I make my judgments by also comparing the early signs, as well as the later. Keep in mind some deficiencies effect other uptakes as well, the worse it gets. So again the early signs if you can catch them will be more true to the originating cause. Does that make sense to you? One also deliberates and deciphers the cause by knowing exactly what you are feeding and watering. No guessing and keep track of what you are doing. One can easily go back and look at the events that lead up to the issue that way.

You want a one size fits all nute? OC+ and all you do is water them. Check my journal I am running OC+ from seed to clone to harvest.
