EXPERIMENTS UPDATE

The One Day Isolation Breeders Experiment

The pods have started opening and pollen has started falling onto the lid.

I also removed a lot of the lower fan leafs so the pollen can fall freely.

Also we moved the Auto Clone to the right directly under him to go ahead and try to get some auto beans.

And here's a plant we moved to the Bloom Tent after being in the Veg Tent since pollen started falling. All I had to do was spray her heavily with h2o to kill the pollen.

And just because, here's a look at the "lamb's quarters" we have growing.

Well done. Isn't science fun? :laughtwo:

Ok folks, let's start with the bad news:

OUR SPIDER 9 LAMP IN THE BLOOM TENT BLEW!

After running for 8 months (since Dec. 15 2014) I think it fried itself. This morning at lights on it came on for about 15mins before it started making a sizzling sound and blinked out. Needless to say I'm no electrician by any means, shape, or form so I immediately unplugged it. All day the tent was running off of the one CFL we use to take white light pics.
So this evening I took the Top Led 96x3w reflector from the Veg Tent and put it in the Bloom Tent and moved my original DIY rack (T5s & CFLs) that's been in the Veg Tent since day 1 back to the center of the tent.
I'm back to my original light set up for the perpetual grow.

And now for the good news...

HARVEST

WHITE WIDOW X BIG BUD
Day 84 / Day 55 under 12/12

Not much but it's heck of sticky and I finally get to try some White Widow.

IMG_00016829.jpg

The circled bud is a hand-rolled bud; something I've been doing with some of my popcorn buds lately. They're pretty concentrated.

IMG_00016843.jpg

Since I haven't been re-vegging since we got the cloner I'll re-veg her just to keep my skills sharp.

IMG_00016840.jpg

We also chopped a
SLEESTACK X SKUNK Monday (2 days ago) that we didn't document. She's drying in the strainer.

Bummer about the lamp, B A R.
I'm glad you had a ready backup solution.
Congrat's on another chop!
:cheertwo:

Thanxx Pita.

I've reached out but nothing yet. I'm not complaining though, It was given to me as a test run for a sponsored grow.

Bummer Reg, but we're creative people who think quickly in a crisis. Hopefully someone will arrange to repair the light and you can continue to use it. If not, you've already been there, so it's well-charted waters, just not waters you were expecting to traverse again.

I love your little hand-rolled buds. I should go back and watch how you did that again.

How can I leave without the standard "congrats on your harvest" ?

Hey Reg - congrats on your latest harvest. :laughtwo: Give that apprentice of yours a fist bump from me. :battingeyelashes:

sorry bout your troubles Brotha
there is a Bright side to this
I have been running my first 2 advanced led's the ds 100's for well over 3 years straight now with 0 issues
I have great confidence that advanced led you have will last its stated time

Thanxx Sue & Cronic...

Jason from Twilight has responded already! Here's a "copy & paste" of part of the Email he sent me:

Hello BAR,

How are you? my friend.

We belive the issue of the lamp is cause by the fuse of the switch, so we will send a new switch to you for change, it's easy work to do.

Thanks and Best Regards

I hope it is an easy fix, but I'm afraid I'm skeptical.
Fuses don't blow for no reason. Either there is too much current being drawn through it due to a failure somewhere, or the lamp was poorly designed in the first place. Hopefully the switch assembly they send you has the correct value fuse. Replacing a blown fuse with a larger value is a good way to start a fire.

Thanxx for the heads up Pita... and Dusty, when I get home this evening I'll probably pick a plant from the Bloom Tent, pollinate her, and start the 24hr isolation phase of our experiment.

... and fuses don't sizzle as they blow.

Reg, check the socket on the lamp, where the cord plugs into it. Sometimes, that doesn't get seated very well, heats up, and then melts down with a sizzle.
