New City Grower 3.5 - Our Perpetual Grow - Continued

be careful once they start opening the regular male pollen travels in the air really easy
just goes poof

Is it time to move him to the Veg Tent yet? Let me know when. I don't want to move him too soon and the pollen sacs degrade (if that's possible).

Also I think the next WHITE WIDOW X BIG BUD I run will be in a 5gal pot in the Big Tent. The bud structure suggest it'll make a good candidate for a long hard training in veg.

its gonna be soon id would say within a week or around a week something will open but that's just a guess Brotha

We're on our way Carestaker! We just have to get Cronic across the pond first. :surf:

Ok then Cronic, I'll continue posting him up every day this week.

The pollen sacks will degrade once they stop getting 12/12. Got to catch it right before the nanners poke out. Once you see yellow its to late them things drop a lot of powder. You will notice the sacks opening and yellow poking out. That's time.
Ok Dusty.
It looks like one was opening this morning but I'm not sure if yellow is showing. If I miss the exact time by a day or 1/2 a day can't I just spray the girls with water? Also should I be checking the smaller clusters too or the biggest cluster will always open first? This is a touchy experiment.

Could you put a plastic bag over the balls and tape it up nice and tight around the branch? Wait until they've shot their load, cut the branch off and remove it from the room. Then you could open it somewhere else and get the pollen you want and apply it with a Q-tip. Wash/shower well and change clothes in between.

That's some great advice.

That would be more on the side of regular breeding though Pita. This experiment is about breeding with only one day of isolation. The fact that you can't impregnate a feminized or regular plant in veg and that H2O renders pollen useless is the basis I've theorized this on.
I'll try to explain each step and why I'm doing it in detail as we go so everyone following can get a better understanding.

If I "F" up the worst that can happen is we'll have a crap load of beans to last us for awhile; a win win. If it wasn't for the cloner purchase recently which enables me to clone any strain at will now I'd be scared to death to try this.

check everywhere dude itll open where you least expect it
in for the ride CareStaker :surf:

Ok then Dusty, here's the pic from this morning & Cronic, I'll be sure to check the other clusters when I get in. I appreciate the two of you's walking me through this phase.

Damn Reg, how have I missed this?
By working at your "Dream Job" everyday Cajun.

Thanxx Dusty. Got home and he hasn't started dropping his load yet... on to Phase 2, moving him back to the Veg Tent.

First off I came up with an idea I think is quite nifty; using an old bucket lid to help catch some of the pollen. Now the reasoning behind this relocation is two things:

1: Pollen won't harm photos in Veg.

2: This carries over to our on going challenge of getting more than one grow out of autos. There's one auto & one auto clone in the Veg Tent right now and I wouldn't mind if either of them got impregnated.

This dude doesn't know how lucky he is!

I also forgot to mention that I turned the fan off in the Veg Tent.
