New City Grower 3.5 - Our Perpetual Grow - Continued

As long as you didn't get it from Barney's I think you should be alright Macca. We believe they had a bad batch but other than this one I hear Barney's beans are quite productive.

that's an impressive auto :thumb:

i wanna go auto for the summer and im kinda doing a research around it, how many liters/gallons would you say that pot is ?

she seems pretty satisfied from the capacity, my thing is - i dont wanna over do it with 10 gallon pots for autos cause i wanna fit more in one tent but playing around with mediums could result in last minute rescue transplants so im kinda wondering whats the "ideal" size for growing autos to take advantage of all the space you have for growing in a way that lets you fit inside as many as possible :high-five:

Iv used barney's a fair few times and always been happy. My pineapple chunk are barney's farms but bought from herbies

Have bf made any announcement about there possible ballsup?
Not that I've heard about Macca.

We have everything in 2lt Soda Pop Pots Brother. The plant below is the first one we've let grow natural without training & she stands at 2ft 3in from the top of the pot; just to give you an idea of size proportions. I know a lot of members talk about rootbound problems but Relaxed Lester broke that myth last year. The only thing cramped roots will do is limit the size of a plant which is something we all know; the bigger the pot the bigger the plant. I'm new at autos so you might want to wait for one of the auto experts to tell you if a 10 gal pot is too big.

Reg, your 2ltr grows are so amazing! Look at her - common bag seed standing tall like a Queen! Incredible niche you and BG have going there.

Just making the most out of limited real estate Sue. I patched together ideas from a few successful grows around 420 mag, payed attention to good info about soil, roots, and training & created a decent strategy.

It's funny you mentioned that Skunny. On my way in today was the first time checking. Nothing yet.

nice to know brother, i know the rule of thumb about pots and plant sizes but does it apply on autos aswell?

i mean would an auto be bigger if you ride it in 10 gallon pots ?

I would think so. Larger pot, larger plant. Mine were in 7 gallon pots and they were massive. If I'd had better lights they would have been bigger yet. So yeah, go bigger.

I have to agree with Sue... IMO any time you put them in a larger pot you are going to get a larger girl.... I think with the auto too.... I grow them in 3 gallon pots due to lack of property too or I would put them in the 5 gallon pots like I do the reg girls.... Once I have this massive friggin grow over I may try that... Put one in a 3 gal and one in a 5 gallon and see who does what....:circle-of-love:

thanks for the tip ladies

So there you have it Brother. If you have the space go big!

I hate to be the devils advocate
ive had an auto in a 5 gallon dwc which wasn't near the size I was hoping actually very tiny
I would say there is a lot of factors if the plant can even make use of a huge pot compared to a smaller one
if its a really fast auto strain I don't think it could make use of everything theres a bunch of factors that would play into it

I'm finally caught up. Things are looking good as usual, congratulations on the harvests!! Sounds like your sister is as blessed to have you looking out for her as I am to have my brothers looking out for me! I knew I liked you! :green_heart::blunt:

hi mate i run autos and have always used 10-12 litre pots....but as you can see BAR is doing a great job using 2 litre bottles....

I'm with Chronic.

With photos, the pot and plant size thing works. With autos not necessarily. I've done autos in 3 and 5 gallon pots, and I did one hydro in a much larger pot. The hydro auto was hugantic. I've had a 3 gallon put out more than the 5 gallon. both were left to their own devices. In my experience with autos, they do pretty much what they are gonna do. If you force feed them nutes like I did in hydro, you can push them for sure, but so much depends on the specific plant. Grab bag for sure :)

Brother: And the 420 family comes rolling in; advice on a platter!

Magic: This thread just hasn't been the same without you. We have to get on Lester, he keeps leaving us twiddling our thumbs on our dinner & a show Thur date night.
