New City Grower 3.5 - Our Perpetual Grow - Continued

Hozona, Fifi, Pita, Sue, Cronic, Jaga, & Welshy: :thankyou:

Jimbo: I think you're right. So I'm wondering why the unsealed SIPs don't get this build up. On those we alternate the method of feeding:
Top feed every other watering
Bottom feed (fill the reservoir) every other watering
It usually takes 2 or 3 days for a plant to empty out the reservoir.

grats on the new harvest :high-five:

Thanxx Dusty and Brother, & Dirty it's from the same batch as yours. :;):

ANOTHER HARVEST

AFGHAN KUSH
(Auto) Day 86 completely under 18/6

This is our first auto. I see now on the most part they're easy to grow & train. Just do as you would with photos; except train early to get the structure you want and then leave them be. It yielded about what we've been averaging in 2lt Soda Pop Pots. The only problem I see with autos is when they're done they're done; no clones or re-vegging.
One idea has crossed my mind. If you only harvest the top half of an auto will the bottom half continue to mature & grow since the conditions will stay the same? If so could you do this repeatedly?

Wet Weight

Here's a look at the experiment we've been conducting cloning cuttings from a plant in bloom; One staying under 12/12 while the other was put back under 18/6. This is Day 14 for the both of them.

The one under 12/12 appears to have started resuming her bloom cycle while the one under 18/6 is taking her time trying to re-veg. The purpose of this experiment is to see if a cut from a plant in bloom would continue to flower if left under 12/12.

PS: I've yet to succeed cloning a plant in bloom.

Hey Reg-
How's your clone of a clone (in perlite) doing? Still improving?
As a new kid on the block, I hesitate to offer much advice, but since I also have a plant in soiless (rockwool cubes) that looked almost the same, I thought I'd offer this for consideration.
I've tried PH feeding and waterings ranging from 5.5 to 6.5. None really helped. What did make a huge difference for me is getting more water through the plant with each feed/water. My guess is salts or other crud was building up in the "soil" even though I did have some runoff with each watering - just not enough. These soiless mediums offer no buffer like good old dirt. After a big flush, and using more solution each time, the results have been pretty dramatic. Nothing else has changed. This is in spite of a pretty severe root aphid infestation that has become apparant in the last week. The plant also added 3-1/2" in the last week (not bad since it was near death and only about 7" tall a month ago). Here are some before and after pic's. Dunno if it will help you, but it might be worth a shot. Best of luck w/it!

Fifi, Jaga, Skunny, Sweets, Dirty, & Jade: Thanxx

Pita: Last night she looked ok but I haven't reset the Bloom Tent timer yet so I don't really get a chance to STARE at the 12/12 plants before leaving for work in the morning. I'll move it up an hr this weekend. Thanxx for reminding me & I'll let you know how she's doing when I get home.

QUICK UPDATE
Mar 17, 2015

Fifi: And I missed you as well.

Carestaker, Cronic, Jimbo, & Jaga:
Thanxx

Dirty: I wouldn't be mad if you continued to spray every night with Snow Storm Ultra just so we can see how a regiment like that would effect plants.

LEMON KUSH (In unsealed SIP with a Micro-scrog) Day 48

We've attached the screen to the pot using two clothes hangers. Should I wait until she reaches the net before flipping her to 12/12?

With a SCroG screen you should allow the plant to grow and weave the branches through the SCroG screen until 60% full then switch to flower. The branches continue to be trained through the SCroG screen during the stretch phase of flower.

Congratulations on your harvest!

I can't have the lights come on before I go to work or I will be late everyday :laughtwo:

Seriously though.
It's not easy leaving the girls, there's been enough mornings I've ran late from messing around in these tents. I finally reset the timer for the bloom tent last night & was thinking about Dr. Ziggy going 11/13. I kept it on 12/12 but instead of robbing the plants of an hour sleep I just sent them to bed an hour earlier. Now they're back on my wake, bake & stare schedule.

Is it still snowing......:circle-of-love:
It was a snow/rain mix this morning but everything's cleared up now.

Welcome aboard NewBoy.

Ok then John. I'll post pics of her at least once a week for advice & thanxx.

Hey Reg-
How's your clone of a clone (in perlite) doing? Still improving?
I didn't forget about you Pita. She's done a 180 since adjusting her feed to a PH level of 5.8 instead of 6.5, she even started to bloom. It was me not paying attention to detail again. Since I hadn't grown in anything but soil up to this point adjusting to 6.5 is like 2nd nature after mixing nutes. Good thing I caught myself.

Dry Weight

There won't be a dry weight on the Afghan Kush we chopped 2 days ago. I donated that harvest to my sister last night. But no need to panic, there's another Afghan Kush auto that should be ready any day now.
