New City Grower 3.5 - Our Perpetual Grow - Continued

High bar been out for a while. Hope everything gets back on track.
Hope you like the blue cheese. :)
She looks proper Dusty. I'll have to smoke some of that as soon as it's dry with all the rage I've heard about it.

But in the meantime here's her replacement...

This week's flip

BUB'S PAPAYA Day 140 / Day 2 under 12/12

I'm assuming the 4 month veg has something to do with these few pre-pistils we saw.

And yesterday was transplant day for 2 of the solo cups...

It's still hanging out in the Big Tent waiting to reveal their sex; nothing yet.

ROYAL MEDIC
Day 35

She was also up-potted from a solo cup last night but at a 45 degree angle. Our first plant trained with this technique did pretty well so why not try it again.

Looking good my friend :) pistols whilst in long term veg is fine and just another way the plant tells you its sexually mature and ready to flower! :)
Did I just read that you've not smoked any blue cheese? If so lol your in for a treat! Yet over here in blighty it was all you could get for years and got very old pretty quickly, it stinks so much that there is no stealth whatsoever :) is it linked at all to a UK cheese?
Best of buds and vibes to you and yours! :)

I'm not sure Flux Master but Dusty might know the history of this particular pheno.

Same here on pistils after about 6 weeks veg or more. Just a girl trying to grow up before her parents are ready to give her the keys to the car.

Great update and that 45 degree transplant is quite the method! :goodjob:
Bob ;)

Preflowers,

I keep plants in vege longer than most.

What I have found is, it depends on strain some. Adding stronger light will postpone it.

I think in nature, it is a way for the plant to grow a few seeds early. Just in case of disaster. Males tend to mature faster than the girls. So the pollen wood be around.

I seldom put a plant into flower before I start getting them.

That is such an intriguing training technique B A R. Somewhere along the way I should try that. Are you looking for a particular structure to a potential candidate?

Actually Sue I was thinking of doing something different this time. Funny you should pop up now Hozona since I got the idea from your 2016 thread. I think it was Jadre's post. It wont be exactly the same but close.

Since it's already been topped once it'll be more along these lines.

I posted that pic quite some time ago, then I noticed recently Jandre posted it in my journal. Good ideas make the rounds for sure! :cheesygrinsmiley:

No doubt Hoz.

Thanxx for explaining the pre-flower pistils.

Dr. Shmidtz, I'm already dealing with a little girl growing up too fast for me in real life. LOL

Today we called it quits on her. I think we cut down her male companion that was sharing the pot a little too late.

There's so many beans I figured just let her dry in a jar so they'll all be in there, then maybe I'll use what little bud is left for some canna-iced-tea. Nothing goes to waste in this grow.

Please tell me that was said in your best southern belle voice.

Dr John Jacob Jinglehimer Shmidtz, you started it not me and Fifi can tell you that once you give me an alias you're stuck with it. Ask Rico Suavay, the moderator. Right Professor Flux?

If it wasn't against the rules and I didn't want to get you busted or bother the admins who seem to have had quite a couple days...

I would be posting one of my favorite vids for Rico Suavay. Now that is a great nic to give someone.

Hey BAR I've not been around much for awhile due to personal circumstances but it's great to have caught up again and that Blue cheese looks like it's going to be a great smoke, the photo really shows off the stickiness :)

Good to hear that you managed to fix your PM and Thrips problem and just in case you're interested I'd like to point you in the direction of Diatamaceous Earth as a preventative for the future. I used it after my Thrips and Spider Mites problem and not only did it help in clearing them up but since using it I have never seen them since. I buy the food grade DE and it's really cheap for a big bag online that I've hardly even dented, although let me give you a cautionary piece of advice (purely my own opinion but it's what I noticed). I was originally piling it all over the soil and even mixing it into the soil until I read that DE makes the soil really alkaline, this could have explained a lot of the issues that I was having with PH and lockouts during those two grows where I used it that way. Instead what I do now is just blow it onto the floor of the tent and it works literally by slicing up any pests that go over it. I'd use it again on the soil if there were signs of an infestation but I would use much less than I used to if it happened again, but realistically there's been no need of it since, it even solved my house's ant and slug problem.

Sorry for the long post but I couldn't think of a way to shorten it much further, good to see you all well and good. No more journals for me until I get a few more grows under my belt (the last one went pretty well and the current one is impressing me instead of depressing me lol) but it's great to come and see your perpetual. All the best and may your lights shine brightly :thumb:

I agree with Kraize. I always dust the pots with it, and mix a little into the soil, if I'm doing a summer grow. I've found that it's most effective when it's used with other reduction methods simultaneously, but I use that stuff everywhere. I'll dust the floor of the grow with it, just to be sure. I fear the mold, and the pests, more than my own stupidity and forgetfulness. :Namaste:
