Do you do this every time you check the plants, or do you look at the plant first and see symptoms of root bound and then check the plant?

When a cannabis plant is roughly a little taller then the pot is wide they often have developed enough root mass to become root bound in their pots. If I did notice the bottom leaves beginning to yellow in vegetative growth when enough nitrogen was being fed I would suspect the plant had become root bound and then inspect.

Ok, Ok that's a done deal How are we looking on Question #2?

Seems like it defeats the purpose to me lol, why would you remove the plant and not look at the roots, seemed like the whole point of the question was to avoid having to remove it from the pot in anyway. Just making conversation :passitleft:

2. I should harvest when trichomes are about 1/3 amber. When should I begin the 2 week flush? The trichs will be way more than 1/3 after the 2 weeks. Should I start flush at 50/50 clear/cloudy?

You begin your flush with two weeks to go based on your genetics schedule for your strain. Then in when the trichomes are 1/3 amber harvest. It will probably be in the last week of flush and 8 days of flush are probably enough.

Question #2 Relaxed Lester

2) When you harvest a strain for the first time I recommend flushing when you first see amber trichomes so that you may adjust the timing of when to flush for future harvests, you will be able to see the progression of the maturation of the ratio of amber trichomes as the plant is flushed and possibly take samples to judge when is the correct time to harvest.

Q2 Unfortunately the question of trichome color alone is not the sole factor in flower ripeness. Floral structures that have "filled out" and become dense are also a factor. Different strains mature at different rates. The flushing question also does not entail possible use of a flushing solution of a chelated agent which cuts the flushing down into a matter of 3-7 days. Depending on if this was being used or not, I would start flushing at 5-10% amber in order to achieve 30% amber
