Natural Spirit's Grafting Journey Of 2019

With the different species I have no idea what the reaction would be. But I have used and seen used clonex to speed recovery time from broken branches. They didn't appear to grow any roots on the branches for what it's worth.

My gosh do you all realize we are getting so much worthy information with just chatting a bit? :thanks: The fact it didnt root might be a indicator it helps recovery as well as root buildup? let's see if more people try clonex or so on a graft or injury. I discovered yesterday that my euphoria quadline healed up like she wasnt even hurt. two brenches got slices 1/3 in the stem. This was just a matter of me not having a steady hand at bad days. Beeswax was my go to. I knew it has anti bacterial properties but its like a skar on skin. A little smoother but all healed up. The discovery was made cause the beeswax came off by moving the pot a bit. I guess it lets go when needed?

I’m wondering if you prepared the stem of the cannabis plant by stripping leaves and crushing the stem then allow to repair. I do this in training my plants and it creates almost shrub like branches very similar to a willow branch. Once you’ve got a nice sized diameter say an inch then cut and graft to a willow branch the same size. This should give you more area to attach?

Thats a great idea! tough i would be crying injuring those sweet babys probably lol! If the brench is thick enough it might be enough to graft. If that doesnt work i can try the brutal version ;) Who knows if i get a little more space i am able to graft more then one girl on that willow. One thing is for sure, the willow loves my veg boxo_O

Morning guys! Its almost the freaking weekend:woohoo:

I have been diving into the clonex we talked about. I had great results with Some plants in the garden tough a buddy told me to double check If Its Only decorative or Also fruit tree’s and so.

It turns out clonex is Only for decorative plants so be carefull What you put on the girls!

Its not a “do not use it” more a carefull with fruit and veggies.

How are you all doing?

Howdy mr.Natural facisnating journey you've started with the grafting, look forward to seeing how it goes for you.....
Heya smeegs! Good to see you jump in :cheer: it started with a small idea and before I knew it I was Full on grafting

If you have any questions, tips or tricks Please do mention as I grow at least as much as you all do here.

:snowboating:

Little update on the graft as we can smell the weekend around the corner:yahoo:

That second time without the bag might have actually given her a little step back. The stem remains green (yay!) but she aint growing much yet. Since a Cannabis to Cannabis graft takes a month, i wont be suprised if this takes 1.5 or 2 before they figure out how to connect properly.

Since she is still green there is some sort of connection going on for sure. It's still hard to say if this will take ofcourse as we are grafting in a grey area here:p What i do know is that if the multiple year rootstock makes it a several year plant it gets real interesting. First graft a strain or 10-15 to her and then plant her outside for several years. I might try this with a small plant later on to see if it works.

For now its a pretty damn long waiting game and as most of you guys now... I can be impatience from time to time:battingeyelashes:

Dear Graft-people :battingeyelashes:

today i have to tell you some sad news... the graft looks bad... real bad!

She got brownish and she is looking like a rockstar the day after the party...

This means that i have to graft again! and maybe again... and again. I decided this willow has to take the graft if she wants to or not. I might try 2 grafts next so i have a better shot at succes.

After the move i will focus more on this girl and her needs. for now there is no space to provide her with anything then the basic now.

Hope you guys stay tuned for part 2 and ill take pictures in the morning for those of you that like to have a minute of silence ;)

I really thought she’d pull through. This is too much fun to succeed first time anyway. Bring on round 2! Makes me smile this thread:D After the move sounds like you’ve had a result. Have you got a date to move in now?

Awww...try it again. This time I think you should use a clear bag and don't open it at all until you see actual growth in the cannabis sprout.

Yeah that thin bag was crap. I promiss I leave it on This time. It felt like She needed a chance of water every now and then but She made her point ;)

I’m so happy to hear that! It is fun indeed and I absolutely Will graft more onto her. The clones already started to shoot roots so Its a matter of Some growth and then ill be grafting again :D

Yes i Did hear Yesterday the house is mine :goof:

I Did Share it in my multitasking journal but totally forgot to Share it here. Taking care of Two journals is new to me so Thank you for reminding me:thanks:

I expect the Key around the 15th of march

Thnx bro! The grow space Will absolutely get bigger :D with more grafts to Come ^^

Congrats on the home, very exciting experience!

As for grafting- the will is there, which means the way is there. Here’s to round 2.

Thank you :D

The graft Will het there and I have the Will, plus the Will-ow lol. Ive been cloning Some euphoria just to keep my mind busy, Maybe I should try different ways now to graft them on.

My cheap DIY sponge bubbler works pefect

Look to a dude on here named @Light Addict been around forever,,, and did up to 70 grafths I think off a mother root.......

I've played with grafting hempstock with hopps.... Worked she took,,, but no help........ Flowers, that grew from hemp root flowered well...Flowers from another line,, well disappointing.

Thnx NW, we had contact and I think that he is truely good at grafting indeed. Stepping into the willow graft is a pretty grey area. Anything out of the family is kinda unknown to most. Somehow that Where my challenge starts Hehe

I Will make This work i’m Sure about that, just not really Sure How long it Will take me. In the end the multiple Year rootstock might be in the cannabis family to so If This turns out a disaster I Will try to draw more within grafting lines ;)

For now it was a awesome first round and I learned a bunch. Round Two just has to be awesome I am Sure ^^

Goooooood morning everyone!

Today i decided it might be the last time i got before packing so what did i do? make sure i have lots of things to do with the girls LOL

Since i could not look at that sad brench without the graft it was time to graft :yahoo:

It started with some cloning and the realisation came why not graft again?

To start this grafting again i tought about techniques, the comment you guys gave me and what might work better. So there should be more chance of survival.

It started with the donation Euphoria and the Willow...(and a real messy table LOL)

Graft one was done quite different then the other. Almost every grafting vid showed me to slice in and stick it in. Ofcourse its more protected this way and i sliced in a piece where there was also some willow growth.

The second one is absolutely "sitting" on the willow like @InTheShed asked. Hanging down the weight of the graft would be "pulling" on the graft so let's hope this works better.

The clear and thicker bags were ofcourse not in my drawer anymore so i had to use the thinner one. The better ones will be used soon.

Bag them up....

Fingers crossed these two have better chances at survival:meditate:

some extra information. The first graft was done in a green brench. The young growth might recover more quickly? The second was in brown wood so we have both options covered ^^

The second graft i took almost all new growth off but a bit. this way she needs less water and moist and therefore she might attatch quicker.

I like it. Fingers crossed!
