N420 Grows Barney's Farm Orange Sherbert & Special Guests

Once you top a plant, you want to slowly tie the top node branches out, with the goal of eventually having the growth tips just below the level of the topping point. This will do two things for you. First it will allow the lower nodes to catch up to the canopy, and second, it will encourage all the growth along the lower portion of the top branch to become new tops.

You can do the same with the next node down if they are close together.

After the lower growth is level with the top, you can stop tying the top ends low and allow the entire plant to grow up with nice flat canopy.

That's great shed thank you! The picture you included is exactly what I would like to accomplish keep it fairly short with lots of even tops kinda a scrog with out the net because I like to be able to take them out for watering and other maintenance. So next is the topping will let them grow out one more node then top them. Then let the new nodes from the topping grow out a bit and tie them down to the pot.

Gz update

The Gz have recovered from the transplant and are starting to get going again. I have still been spraying with the Castile soap mix every other day has been about 3 weeks of doing that and am not really seeing any signs of thrips so am thinking about stopping soon hopefully they are gone for good.

Looking for some advice I want to start training soon but not sure which way to go. With the Os I topped once at the 5th node then let them go until they hit 7 weeks right before I wanted to flip them I tied down the main tops to spread them out more. I should have done it earlier and didn't have the room to really get them open as much as I wanted to. In the end it was ok but if I could get them more even I think it would have been better.
So should I still top at the 5th node? Start lst now to get them more even earlier.I did read a good quad line tutorial and that has intrested me but I think I can accomplish the same thing with lst.

Here they are today got some side shots so you can see where they are one shot of each plant.

Nice looking girls N420- always wanted to buy something from them- their Critical Kush has been the number one seller on Attitude seed bank for at least 5 yrs unless they never update the website..lol

I leave closer to an inch. It does look pretty shriveled by the end though (a la Prof!) :laughtwo:
Thanks for stopping by Hh! I will take your advice and leave an inch. so we don't get any breakage during the bending.

Thanks Sparkey! Once I started with the Os the first Barney's strain I tried I knew I wanted to try some more. Looking forward to what the Gz will do and the newest seeds I just got from Barney's.

Hey 420 Thought I would show a plant I have not featured on my journal yet.
She is amnesia auto a freebie I got from seedsman and my first attempt at growing an auto. I gave her the same treatment as the rest of my plants grown in promix and using advanced nutrients for food. I germinated her using the paper towel method once she had a tap root I planted her in a 3 gallon pot and put her outside. It all seemed to go well but I did learn you can transplant an auto lol. My 2 year old went through a stage at the beginning of summer where she would pick all my wife's flowers and pull some of them out of the pots! Well one day she set her sites on the amnesia and ripped the seedling right out of the pot and spread the dirt everywhere , My wife quickly grabbed it and replanted it lol. The auto recovered fine and kept going.
She is nearly done now and I will harvest her on the weekend with the Os harvest. I think I would like to try some more auto's there is alot of really cool auto strains out there they are alot of fun to grow with their unpredictable growth you never know how they will turn out.

She grew one big cola and 4 smaller one's off her side branches it look's like someone chopped the top thrid off a photo plant and stuck it in a pot

Hey 420! I jarred up the harvest from the Os earlier in the week. It had been in the drying rack for 5 days and felt pretty dry I am going away for a few days this weekend and didn't want to risk having it get over dry so I am bringing it with me lol. #firstworldgrowerproblems.

INCOMING PROF ADVICE!!!

Those thrips aren't gone! I've fallen for that about 50 times over the last 3 months lol.

Hey N! Things are moving fast in this thread! I can barely keep up. Keeping up is not one of my best traits but it's hardly my worst.
That's a shame about the rot. It happened to me on my first two grows on 420. I had to harvest my Glueberry early in my first grow then on my second it happened again to my Boss Hog. Just one plant in each grow. It took me months to stop worrying about it happening again. I had a good time catching up by the way. Sheds right. This journal started cracking me up lol. Before I forget, those were some nice OS buds! I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of her after a bit of a cure

I leave closer to an inch. It does look pretty shriveled by the end though (a la Prof!) :laughtwo:
Wtf!

 Haha! Sorry Prof, I calls em as I sees em! ;)#coldhearted
:laughtwo: At least I gave you the full inch. They were just going to give you a halfer!!
When I topped the Purple Punch I had you in mind and I very nearly left multiple inches! Could have been as many as 3! I just don't know. I changed my mind because I thought that joke had dried up :)

 followed by :bravo:
so I am bringing it with me
I did that with my first harvest! I chopped two days before I was leaving for a long weekend and took the drying box with me. Luckily it was an Air BnB so we had the place to ourselves.
Keeping up is not one of my best traits
LOL!
