Mysterious As Batman - First Time Grower

Mother nature has been a little rough on these girls lately. She gave them extreme heat and humidity, as well as a heaping amount of rain...not to mention very strong winds. The girls were once nestled in a tent protected and guardianed by FAB INK himself. As you know if you have been following, if a plant does not hold its own or make the journey from seed strong, she ends up here in the tight and unforgiving clutches of mother nature.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure I could have nursed these to good health but I found they were the weakest and it was of my best interest to see how they handled the big bad world on their own. I do not water them (yet), or give them any special care...I know... neglect
I have the mind set of, it is a weed, it grows in the wild...let's see what happens, and let's see what happens next.

I see a lot of people giving up on their runts so I'm glad you put her outside to grow~ my runt turned out to be the biggest of my plants, even eclipsing my clone, so it's always sad when I see someone cull theirs~ I'll bet she'll produce for you ink!

Came home to what I believe is spider mites...WTF...AZAMAX misting. pH to 6.3
Misted plants, pots, walls, soil, everything.
Stay tuned
Yikes! That really sucks man. Hope it clears up for you bro!

Thank you Snarly. I've been diligently watching them. I have notice a severe decrease. I'm hoping that this is a good sign.
That's good! Keep us up to date, hopefully you have them under control now. :high-five:

Update. I decided to go to Laconia NH Bike Week. Upon my return home, my girls looked great but I still had some spider mites. Not that bad, no web formations, so I took out my 1 and a half gallon pump sprayer, mixed up a heavy doseof AZAMAX...20ML TO THE GALLON...I KNOW, HOLY MOLY! I coated the underside of the ladies and soaked the topside and stem base (plant base). I let them sit for a little while and checked on them, once again, I found some...not as many but I do know it takes time for the AZAMAX to work. I am in debate of flipping tomorrow or holding off for another week...just so that I can regain control of all aspects of this grow. The ladies look great though!

As always, keep it green and no front grow your own.

So today's update...spider mites are on the decline. I did a feeding of AZAMAX, and a touch of Cal mag, pH to 6.4
I hope to return to the tent in the am to a clean tent. I wouldn't call the initial appearance an infestation, other than I had some mites. I have added a 6 inch exhaust fan and will be adding a 6 inch intake tomorrow. I plan on ordering some filters for each. My climate remains pretty consistent, 70-77 rH. With a matching temp. Fingers crossed that it works. I plan on cleaning everything, and I mean everything with Clorox wipes and bleach when the grow is done. The plants look extremely healthy and I am holding off on the flip for another 6 days. The ladies are really starting to mature and fill out. I will be sure to post pics tomorrow.
Keep it green, NO FRONT GROW YOUR OWN

Today's update.
So I have done some research, and I hope the information I used was of some relief and major help to the FORMER Spider Mites situation. I mixed a ratio of 9:1 tap water and alcohol. I sprayed both the plants tops and bottoms side of leaves. I also sprits the stocks, branches and top soil. This technique is said, to evaporate quickly and kill eggs and bugs on contact. I used this application in the early am and as soon as I got home from work, approximately 5:00pm. I saw maybe 3-5 mites on a single leaf. I sprayed and turned up every leaf. I honestly feel better and I hope to be rid of these pests.
Tomorrow I will be going back to a seaweed extract and water solution until flip.
I have been diligently monitoring the soil moisture level and hope to keep these ladies on track for an amazing harvest, in the not to distant future...August!
I know that by Monday if I have no recurring issues, the flip will take place.

Please continue to follow, it will only get better from here!!!

Good day to all.
I was at work with a lot on my mind today. My mom's in the hospital and my plants nearly made it there themselves. With some persistence and good will, they seem to have survived the little bastard bugs. There really isn't much foliage damage. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to say that.
I have so much to do today, now that I am home but I decided to douche the entire tent with Clorox Wipes and spray Everything with alcohol...it kills on contact.
I removed the plants, did a quick inspection to find only a few pests left...which I gave the ole squeeze kill.
I relocated the ladies until I finished my massive cleaning effort, to a sanitized plastic folding table.

I wiped everything from the walls, the pots, the framing, the 4x4 tray for when I water... everything.

Then I placed 14" plastic coaster trays in the 4x4 tray and put the plants in one at a time, where I thought they would feel comfortable. I figure, the round saucers will be used when the ladies haven't had a drink for a while and I could bottom feed them with wicking... hopefully avoiding an over watering.
I am feeling pretty good about things.
I gave the ladies a light mist watering to help rinse any alcohol residual. Tomorrow is a new day.

Stay green my friends!

Nice recovery, but sadly, once you have mites, you have mites. I had to learn to deal with them. I'd put double sided tape around my planters to keep them from crawling up. Also, salt barrier around pots helps. Moreover, they dive bomb from top of tent. But reptile UV bulbs helpd small out breaks. Plants look good.

Cheers

Thank you for the insite. I like to think I am pest free...it's for.peace of mind. I'll try your tricks and see if it helps. I appreciate your words of wisdom! I monitor the situation daily and have been holding my hands shaking my head with fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted as to how things are going in the garden. The ladies do look happy and healthy, this proud papa could not ask for more.

I have yet to see an infected area go pest free. Its not to say your doomed, but you now need to anticipate them. I'll see them in early veg, and late flower. Not sure where they go in between those times. Once you know what to look for, it jumps out at you and you'll see it quickly.

Cheers
