My Very First Grow Journal: BC Big Bud Grown Indoors In Soil

I am actually a carpenter by trade and I can honestly say I’ve measured once and cut twice more times than I care to admit hahaha

Very cool! I’m an Interior System Mechanic by trade. So I can level with you on that. Especially When a person is finishing/trimming its better to cut multiple times. Cut long, check the size, take a blade length off, check size, take another half a blade length off, and repeat! Lol

But it’s NOT cool, when you cut it too short to begin with. Haha that’s usually when my heads just not in the game! Haha just not foggy enough

I saw you harvested a plant, congrats on that man! Next time you should find a dark cool area to hang and dry the plant in. Always best to hang in a dark area. It’s not going to ruin your harvest, but you will get a better finished product if drying/curing is done “properly”. It’s just as important as the rest of the grow. Lots to learn, and plenty of information in the site. I have plenty of helpful links in my signature for a “newbie” to find very easily!

I had something else I wanted to mention as well, but seem to have forgotten with my speal above. When it comes to me, I will be sure to mention it to ya.

There is a lot to the hobby, and we all learn to the day we die, a person only gets more experience with it, doing it first hand. You will definitely learn quick!

Not sure if I’m crazy or not but to me this looks like male bits in there. I think one of my plants may have hermied on me. I figured The flowers have been looking different on this plant. No more pistils showing or anything. Well I just opened up one of the buds to investigate and seen this. @Backlipslide you're an expert lol. Is this what I think it is? Blahhhhh

Lol to me, they look fine bro! Right now, they’re empty. If you were to pollinate the plant with male pollen, those would turn into seeds! I’m thinking your good to go bro! This is what you need to look out for, when a plant hermies on ya.

Lol okay thanks man. I panicked a bit. The buds on that plant doesn’t look nearly as good as the other plants. The buds aren’t crystally anymore and very little pistils showing. And then the inside of the buds look different. I’ll just let it play out and see how it goes.

Man what a week. Completely sucked at posting an update. Was a hectic holidays and then I spent the last week super sick with a throat infection. I got a few pics I’ll throw up for now and will do a better update on everything tomorrow

The antibiotics are working they’re magic already. I feel a lot better. Just wish I never waited so long to go to the dr lol. We were on the SE side of the lake just off the point. Would’ve been good eatin but with the regulations in Alberta you’re not allowed to keep the good fish lol.

That’s awesome man. Your aunt is lucky. That’s a beautiful area there. Can’t wait to get back out there and catch some more fish. We want to go back out and catch some burbs. Hooked one monster burbot there last time, the thing filled the 8” hole when we were pulling it up before it got off and swam away lol. At least you can keep some burbot anyway

Update on the plants. The last bc big bud plant will be ready for harvest early next week I’m thinking. Trichromes are turning cloudy very quickly. The demon tao auto is starting to flower nicely and is very bushy/full looking. I ordered a second tent to upgrade the box I made and that should also be in early next week. I’ll be using it to hang the B.C. big bud in to dry in a proper environment. Will post some pics later today!

I ended up chopping the one plant last night. There was a few ambers showing and I didn’t want to leave it too long. Did a rough trim on it before hanging it inside a box to dry. Didn’t get as much as I’d like but as I said I’m still learning and expecting bigger and better harvests as I go. Weighed 170 grams wet and on stems still. Looks decent though so that’s good. Should get somewhere close to a half ounce to one ounce.

Between trial and error and the help from the great members here I believe every grow has the potential to be much better than the last one.
I only started growing as I can only buy poor overpriced weed here.
It's already become a hobby.
I love the fact it can almost be as simple or as complex as you want to make it.

hey man thank you. I’m glad I made it here lol. The yield wasn’t the greatest(31 grams dried) but still not that bad for my first go around. Like I said I am expecting bigger and better from my next plants. I’ll be posting another update here in the next day or so. Showing off my new setup and what not. Should be a gooder

Alright here we go. So I ordered a whole new setup. Got a 5’x5’x6.5’ tent now with an air cooled my/hps light and 6” fan/filter combo. There is so much more room in here compared to the 3x3 I had. I’m having no issues controlling the temperature now with the air cooled hood. The tent sit comfortably at 22 degrees Celsius which is better than the 30 degrees the smaller tent was at. The plants seem to be loving the extra room and better temps now. I have the smaller tent set up now as a veg/seedling tent which is a lot better for its size. Anyway here’s some pics of the new setup. I’ll post some pics of the plants later on here.

You're going to be able to grow some real monsters in there.
