My new grow space

I went down and watched Canada's opener against Finland... best hockey game I have been to in awhile...It was so fast... this Gold medal one... Holy Shitballs! end to end, goalies were monsters, and the speed of this new hockey that these kids are playing... its fantastic!

Are you enjoying this weather Guy? Its been snowing and -25 and below that for three days!

I saw the weather channel talking about a bomb cyclone... LOL! What about El Nino, and her sister La Nina?? I liked Polar Vortex last year way better than bomb cyclone... I mean I guess we just have to face it... sex sells and the weather man saying, "Ok brace yourselves... we are in for some cold weather and a bad snow storm'... just doesn't sound racey enough I guess... LOL! Stay warm!
Too funny. Your last sentence about the weather man and the snowstorm captivated me more than the weather bomb or El Nino or La Nina LMAO. I guess I'm old school.

All I'm concerned about is the grow space and how it is handling these cold temperatures, I feel like I need to get up at 2 in the morning and go out and check on them LMAO. Not happening!

I've never been to a World Junior game, I have bean to my sons Peewee and I have been to NHL but nothing in between..... I'd love to see a world junior game at some point, I guess Buffalo was the closest we were going to get.....unless you Want to fly to Vancouver next year LMAO?

Okay so it seems like my girls are suffering a bit from overwatering, the droopy leaves are definitely something that I have done..... I guess I was trying to take to good care of them. Also, in their new space the temperature is definitely a little bit cooler than it was in the house so what do you guys think..... They're still alive and keep in mind that 6in away from them it is -30. Not a pile of new growth.......need to amp up Temperatures? I'm kind of paranoid to add any more humidity.....

Killing them with kindness, you think?

They look really healthy - except for the droop.

What are your temps in there this morning?
The temperature on my heater says it's stable at 74°F. I've turned the fan that exhausts heat from my 400W HID up, it exhausts into my room. I was going to introduce my DWC bucket to the tent today....... turning up the fan, this should boost temps a bit. My humidity is low at 25%, but it was also like that in the house. My Alphar dawg, has almost no new growth at all....... I think it's me.

Two days ago, I ordered some digital thermometers, they should be here within the next two days or so. I'm going to ride it out until then and let my soil dry up as well.

Truly I do. I'm pretty OCD about my girls. I'm struggling with bringing my remaining plants out lol.

I think I'm going to pick up a humidity Dome today for my seedlings. Air temp in their sideways tent was 68°f this morning, but they are sitting on heating mat , then on a foam pad which had a confirmed temperature of 84°F. The soil is still quite damp as well.

I'm having a bit of a problem with the cold floor myself. But the wife said the other day to start making a now growroom. Don't know why she said that, and I didn't ask. But each payday now I'll get things and slowly do it over the winter.

Nice buddy. If you can wait....I've got 16 sheets of spare 1/2" ply......shes all yours! I'll get Peeece my spare toolbelt for when we arrive lmao....

My plants are elevated by 16" and R20 floors.....

One thing I did find is that my timer on the lights on for 24 hours straight for the past two and a half days. I must have pushed the pins in by accident. Then again, I've also heard that in veg..... Lights off is optional.

Yeah, they're pretty good as far as an upper photoperiod is concerned. I like to give my autos a few hours of dark just the same - 4 or so.

But save your plywood, I'm not going that heavy. Just some 1/8" stuff, maybe 1/4" and 2x2s. I'll be able to give them a bit of height, and put a heater right in there with them.

Good brother.....glad to have you! You in Canada, you like to fish?
I am in the UK bro. But in Wales I have a beautiful River in every valley. And it's called the Rhondda Valleys

One last 2017 pic as I spent my New Year's eve pulling my brothers new 2500 Chevy from the ditch.....not 2500kms on her. Notice the birch log against the drivers door. With my extensive mathematical prowess , I performed a perfect recovery without a scratch lol......luckily my brother has a bobcat lol. Gotta have one if you live where he does.

Tell your Bro he should have bought a Tacoma, just sayin! hahahaha glad you got him out, shit like that can turn into a bad day real quick with how cold it is now.

Down here in the states its -20C with 40km winds... like arctic conditions. Hunkerin down ain't going no-where. The road crews here salted the roads and now its all black ice everywhere. Crazy.. I'd rather have a shit ton of snow. That pic is awesome wish that was here and I was pulling your bro out with my Taco! :thumb: Good job saving him.

You asked me the last week about "cooking" your soil and how long. Depends on your mix but generally you can use it with established (hardened off) plants that are a few weeks old. Just not seedlings. I usually water the soil and let it sit for a few days and start growing. IF you have alfalfa in the mix, that will need to sit for at least 2 weeks. Many of the "meals" they will compost so can burn the roots of small plants.

There are idiot drivers everywhere.. in all sorts of vehicles. Usually folks in trucks are a little more sane but are CC'ing so don't fuck with us! hahahahaha

I have an awesome 4x4 lifted with mud n snow tires on... I go SLOWER when the weather sucks and that's only if I HAVE to be driving which is usually not happening. I get around great its the other people that think cause they have a 4x4 they can drive the same speed as they do on dry roads.... until they cant. We had a snow storm here deep enough I could cross country ski in the streets around the neighborhood. A nice 6" of powder - perfect conditions but slippery for vehicles, so some yahoo comes heading toward me in a 4x4 going like 40mph un-plowed road...I'm yelling slow down slow down... if he'd a hit the brakes I would have been toasted.. driver waives to me... Bro you don't even have snow tires on...wtf?

I helped a lady out the other day... was in a BMW with summer tires... couldn't get out of her own way, and why I don't drive in the snow much anymore unless I have to. Too many idiots.

1 person messes up.... and ruined day for everybody. Not worth it.. I always called in snow day when I was working. Boss said you have a 4x4 why call in? Do you wanna pay my deductible? Me either and its MORE than I'm making working here thank you very much see you tomorrow. boom My boss used to shake his head and get pissed until 1 time he got caught in a 10 mile backup in snow.... basically f'ed for a day in a car in the snow not going anywhere. He understood after that.

The way I figure it, there's a-holes everywhere even I can be 1 from time to time...why risk the trouble if we don't have to.

For truck drivers... many many of them are professional drivers, they know what they are doing and are the safest people behind the wheel any weather any time. That's the truth.

Does it make it any easier if I told you I had to dig my bail out of a snow bank, lol...... I didn't really realize that "all you Americans" (lol) didn't have easy access to it. I guess because it's made in Quebec? I know the company that owns promix is American, maybe based out of PA?

ProMix is owned by PremierTech (Premier Tech : Who we are and what we do) and is Canadian. We can get that ProMix HP but its like $50 US a bale... no thanks. I live about 15 miles from where ProMix in located in the USA...

I use this - same company same peat moss (minus the mycos that I buy in a tub for $15 lasts me a year or more) - $10 a bale:

Peat Moss | Premier Tech Home and Garden

Hey Guy your girls look good ... healthy and happy. I guess you know how the cold is working out for the grow room.... prolly hopefully won't get any colder than yesterday the rest of the winter.

I always worry when it gets this cold cause it never gets this cold here.. same temps today in Philly as you had yesterday. -20C windchill -40C I'm getting cold just sitting here and it's 20C in our kitchen. Trying to talk myself into going to the gym to go swimming.... brrrrrr, gotta do it.
