My new grow space

I hear a lot of growers will mix their molasses in with compost teas and brew them for a day or so together, something about it really gets the stuff from the compost or EWC going. I haven't tried it yet or even teas in general. I suppose that will be my next undertaking.

I bought one of those small inconspicuous air pumps with a 8 hose manifold that comes off it so that I can run multiple air stones at once when it's time to brew some more teas. The only problem is, the air compressor that the hydro store sold is loud. It doesn't matter if you mount it on a bungee cord like they said, you can still hear the vibration pretty much. Kind of hard to keep it clandestine from the kids when that sort of thing is happening LOL. I will be using it a little further once the backspace is completed.

Well you gotta understand the basic genetics involved with cannabis. There are a total of 20 chromosomes, 10 per parent. So thats a lot of possibilities of different traits being passed down. You can stabilize over generations, but there comes a point of diminishing returns. Supposedly after F6 generation the genetics have the potential to become 'watered down'. Supposedly F1s have the most vigorous growth but are the most unstable. So much to learn about breeding and cross breeding. And couple that with there not really being any standardization in breeding standards it just makes it tougher to fully grasp everything.

That's a good explanation, but what does the term back Crossing mean? How is it that you are "back Crossing", is it just by cloning and growing a new plant from it and the further and further you get away from the original that you started with the less likely that you are to get some of the traits that you don't desire? I'm not sure I understand the term?

Putting molasses in a compost tea would be a great way to get the microbes up and on the go before watering. Do it in a moderately warm temperature like home brew. Did you look into an aquarium pump to do your aeration? You can get some pretty decent ones that can take manifolds for large aquariums, or do you need the power of a compressor? I know the small air compressor that I have sounds like an army helicopter when it's running. Hah, and when it releases the pressure it freaks the dog out bigtime.

Well, I'm gonna head out here. Gotta grab a coffee before my acupuncture. Good day to get it too; going deer hunting with one of the guys from work this evening. Need it for sitting in a blind for a couple hours. If the lineup's not too long after that, I'll get some lower back x-rays done. That triple set of leaves essentially means that there will be the potential for 3 bud sites in flower. Not a bad thing at all.

It is a blast.....make sure he hold that shotgun tight in his shoulder. 50 rounds through a shotgun will beat your shoulder up if it ain't tight!!
