My new grow space

Thanks NS, haven't seen you in a bit! I thought "why not give it a try"! Not sure how the hash will turn out but it smells like a concentrated version of our weed drying, kinda hay like....only stronger. A testament to why EXPERIENCED people (unlike myself), would dry their keif before pressung it. @Rider509 has a friend whos a professional kief dryer.

Just begun a bit of a battle with mites. Luckily I caught them on what looks to be very early in their life cycle. I just happened to look through the leaf from the underside of one of my girls in veg.....tiny little specks are worth investigating. Luckily I did. Completely random too. I have no idea how I got them . Maybe they're something I'll battle in the warmer months.....gawd i hope not!

That's all for tonight.....
Goodnight 420!

Thats true! Personal stuff and Some troubles finding my subs back ;)

Good to see you are doing Allright! The mites sounds a little scary! Maybe Its because I have had thrips and gnats... Its so stressy to me!

Have a great day Bud and the growing I am doing taste better then the coffeeshop so who knows What you kiefballs may do;)

Nice haul with the dry ice method! The biggest benefit of that method is there's no need to dry the kief afterwards. My thought is that you're not really giving anything up, but you're getting more plant material in the mix. That'd be a problem if you wanted to play around with making hash, but if the end goal is to reduce the amount of burning plant you filter through your lungs it's a definite win. Even the greener stuff still has a lot of kick to it and nice flavor. Full melt it'll never be, but smoked on a screen or sprinkled on top of flower it still does the job. :)

Thanks Rider...It was suspicious to me @Rider509 , to say the least. I did my 70 screen first and got the blonde stuff, then switched to my 220 and got a much larger pile....Hmmmm.....did they see the wrong number on my bags.....likely not! I realize now that it was the plant material breaking down further than I anticipated, most almost like oatmeal when I was done. Quite clearly, the plant material (chlorophyll, although fine) ended up in the mix as well. All that being said, I agree..... Not bad for "waste".

It's already started to change color a little bit.

That's 70 microns and 220 microns so it makes sense that you're getting more stuff through the more open screen. If I were ever to do dry ice again I'd freeze the plant material under dry ice and then shake with no dry ice in the bubble bag. Then refreeze and shake again with no dry ice in the bag. It seems like the dry ice "rocks" just beat the hell out of the plant unnecessarily.

Yeah it didn't look too much like leaves when I was done. Dammit, I should have started with the 38 bag then. Maybe got myself the cream off the top lol. Oh well, chock it up to another learning experience. My buddy says I should squish one of my blocks......Im just not as into the shatter/rosin as he is. I like the social aspect of a joint lol.

Speaking of my buddy, @Rider509, KCCO77 should have his system up and running this weekend. I'll get some pictures to share.....im certainly intrigued!

Last night was a spray night. I started in flower, seeing as i consider it "clean". I sprayed all but my buds. I did see a mite last night however, In veg, on my CBDurban clone. I checked her thoroughly and only found one. That being said, it could be the start of a fresh hatch as I noticed the bugs approximately 4 days ago. The Mite was small and last night may have been his first night, but it was also his last. Once again, everything was removed from all three spaces. One by one they were systematically drowned in bug b gon pyrethrin spray.....a different one this time. All grow areas have been sprayed down with bleach and allowed to mostly dry. At that point all of my girls were then put back into their places.

Doesn't sound like much, funny how 2 hours work fits into one paragraph lol. All my girls were also fed last night. My hydro girl (who btw has no signs of insects on her leaves) is making a great recovery and has tops galore. She'll be ready for next flip for sure. Then we'll see what Crown Royal can do in the bucket!

That's all folks.....
Have a great day 420!

Now imagine doing that for a month+!!
That hurts my feelings lmao.

You know one thing I did notice last night when I was in there looking through my 60 x Loupe, when the mites are in egg stage, the eggs have 2 tiny little red dots on them . These little pricks are already watching us. Learning from what we do to kill their parents. I have to look pretty hard to see any signs of bugs at this point, but I will make sure that I am Relentless in the pursuit of them all dying slowly. Or quickly..... If that's how they choose to go LOL.

Another thing I noticed what's that my temperatures in my veg area and subsequently my cloning area have slowly been increasing. I know that this is due to me turning off the fan that pulls warm air from my veg area and exhausts into my flower area. This was something that I felt the need to turn off while I was investigating my Mite issue, but it's also interesting to note how much draw a small 4-inch can fan has. Presently, my flower room sets at 23-25°C, normally that is closer to 30°C. Normally my veg and cloning tents both run at around 26°C, presently they are in the 31 to 32°C range. This, along with the constant baths would definitely explain the stresses that my girls are showing. Better than death though lol.....this little setback has been a bit of a blessing in disguise (as an eternal optimist), as I am now well within my legal limit lol......

Fans back on for the weekend away. I need some cooling so that my pots don't dry out while we're gone.

@Peeece, were going to miss your presence brother. The seat still has your name on it if anything changes for you. Train leaves Friday morning at 2am as discussed.....gotta stay ahead of mom nature!

Show no mercy!!
Hard to believe that anything is still alive in there, with the mixture of pyrethrins and bleach lingering in the air........ Horrible!!. Lucky I got 25 plants in there to start the filtering process LMAO.

Wow, you had your problems but it looks like you are on track.

Love the dry ice hash. :goodjob: I just ordered a set of bubble bags for my attempt.

As soon as you let off the accelerator, the borg will come charging back. Keep spraying.....the more pressure the better. I recommend spraying outside away from your room. Let them dry before bringing them back. Keep doing it even when you think you have them licked. I am telling you....I thought I had it beat and I backed off a bit and I had to work to make it to harvest. As potent as the bud came out, I can only wonder how good it would have been without the mites.
