My First Time Growing

Everything is going along well here. Sorry I have no pic's yet, But I should (fingers crossed) have a camera/phone pretty soon. I don't want to just ramble on about the plants with no pic's to show or ask you about something you can't see. Tracking says I should get the camera on Monday :yahoo:, so.... I will keep you guys updated about the grow, and hopefully have pic's again soon!
 
Got my camera today! It's only 3.2 MP but when your budget doesn't let ya buy the best, you get what you can afford. I only have a few pic's right now as my helper is working. The first 2 are a Bud thru the Loupe. I can't take them as good as Canna, but at least you can see the 707 Truthband's Buds. Here are 2 pic's:

The next is the plant that will be up after the Truthband, But not by much I don't think. All I remember about the name is it was called Amnesia (with nothing after it except feminized). I can't remember what the label said on the seed packet. I'm going to look around a little and see if I can figure out her flowering time because she went into the flower tent on 4/29/16. But she looks ready now, here's a pic of her Bud. I don't understand why there is colored light in the pic's, I turned off the Mars LED completely and the only other light was white LED's. Hmmmmm

This last pic is the Amnesia. I hope my helper gets off work and has time to give me a hand getting pics of the girls in tent in more natural light.

But at least I'm back with a camera!!!:thumb:

OK, On the Truthband, she will be harvested around the 28th of this month. She is leaning so much from the weight of the buds, I had to tie her off with a second piece of loose twine to keep her standing. I can't wait to try her without having been speed dried. The little bud I tried and dried out fast smoked so smooth it was virtually no coughing and the flavor was so good.... A fully, normally dried out bud ought to be pretty great I'm guessing. I can't wait to try the Amnesia either.


I looked up Amnesia on a commercial website and there are quite a few different types. But most of the ones under just Amnesia say 60-70 days, So since she went in the tent on 4/29/16 and is on day 56 if I did my math right. I should be able to harvest her in 4 to 14 days and she looks sweet now, but I think I'll let her go a while and just keep an eye on her for now.

We never talked how to harvest before and I've done the other 3 plants by guessing at how long to hang them for before I trim them and put them in a paper bag to finish drying. Minnie took almost 20 days to dry and I was hoping someone could just give me a quick walk thru of the best way to harvest a plant. I don't have to wash them, they have never seen the outside before, but other than that I've been guessing. If no one has time, don't worry about it. I'll figure it out.
 
I cut off big fan leaves and hang them until they feel dry but the stems are still bendy. Then I trim them and put them into mason jars. I vent the mason jars for a few minutes a few times per day until they dry out to the point where the stems just start getting snappy. Then I deal them up with Boveda 62% humidity packs and vent them every few days a few times then seal them up for a month or so. At that point the cure is done and the smoothest nicest smoke has been achieved.

I do exactly the same except I find it easier to completely trim my buds when I first harvest then I put them in the drying racks and let them dry for about 72 hours with a ceiling fan going... then I jar it up loosely with the humidity packs and open it for 30 minutes twice a day for a week then burp it every day for about a week or 10 days then once the stems are dry enough to snap... I seal her up and let her cook...:yahoo:... Hope you are having a blessed and green day....:circle-of-love:

BTW, My helper just got home (It's a little past 8:00 PM) a little bit ago and is exhausted. The pic's of the girls out of the tent will have to be done tomorrow.
 
OK, I don't have my helper today, he already made plans for today I didn't know about. I wanted to take pics of all my girls in the tent but being it's just me, I only could move 1 plant so I took a pic of the Truthband. She's the one that I have plans on chopping in 3 days. Sorry the pic isn't better, Camera has no flash and overhead lights in room aren't bright, I plan on getting bigger bulbs since I saw how dark the pic is. I used a flashlight to try and brighten it up but you can only see it on the planter.

Sorry, It's the Truthband and its supposed to be done by the 28th (Radogast figured it out). It's the one that was leaning over. I have a pic of her 3 posts back. I'll post the pic of the truthband and the closeup of the buds again now.

The pic's aren't as good as Canna's, sorry. The trichs appear cloudy and frosty but I don't know what you mean by what %? I hope I gave you all the info you asked for. Thank you Dennise!

BTW, The LED light was turned out when I took the pic's of the buds so I don't know why they show some reddish coloring in the pic.
 
Here's what I want you to do... Tomorrow when they wake up get your helper {when he gets out of bed } to pull her out into daylight... Open her up where you can get me pics of where the limb meets the stalk... I want to see if there is any swelling still and if the pistols have turned brown and turned down... I know you're having a hard time understanding what we are talking about with the ambers but after your trichs turn cloudy the ends will turn red... You want about 25-30 % amber but you don't want to go much past that because it is degrading... If you can get your helper to help us get those shots... We can figure this out....:high-five:...:circle-of-love:

Thanks Dennise, But we have neighbors right on top of us on both sides and the one on the side of our driveway and would be able to see me take the plant out and I wouldn't put it past him to call the police on me. I can't risk taking any outside. No big deal, I can just wait 3 days and according to her strain she should be done. Sorry to be such a pain and thank you so much Dennise for helping.
