Smokey. I didn't mean the folks who gave you the giant tent are trying to trap you. They sound like nice folks. What I meant was the lure of a free tent of that size might have trapped you into a situation that won't work well. Like I said, maybe when I see it it'll make sense. I'm familiar with tents that size and how they are usually set up with doors vents and stuff.
If you are going to partition the tent down the middle and separate it into two spaces what is the point of putting the small tent inside the big one. Light one half with the T-5 for veg. Light the other half with everything else you have for flower.
I've never seen anyone partition an 8x4 tent. I'm sure it's been done. It seems like the partition has to go right in the middle between the two doors making two 4x4 spaces...

Hey, that dirt grows good pot. You have enough light intensity. You water right. We'd all have been surprised if your homegrow wasn't better than the original bag seeds weed. You are going to be pretty happy with your harvest. Not long now!- Thread starter

The only reason I am putting the small one inside the big one is so it acts as the majority of the partition to keep light from leaking into the flower side. I have some construction grade plastic garbage bags that will work as the top and filler as a the little last part of the partition. And once the little tent is in place where it's going to stay, I am planning on putting aluminum foil on the back of the little tent which will be facing away from the flower side. and your probably right, I may have bit off more than I can chew, I was just trying to get a better area to veg in when this tent seemed to good to pass up. But since it's what I'm stuck with, I figure I will just use it to increase the room I have by using the little tent as the largest part of the partition between sides. Sorry, I thought I had said that about the small tent being the main part of the partition, but it must just be something I typed in and edited the post, replaced it and forgot to put that part back in.
I forgot to mention to you (at every post lately) that I am planning on making CCO for my wife who has a problem that should help with. I don't know how much that will effect how much I need to harvest as I have looked at the instructions but haven't gotten to how much weed it will take to make her a test batch first to make sure it helps and she will use it. Canna is willing to help me with making it and I just need to ask her how much weed will it take to make some up. Canna if your reading this, and don't mind please letting me know approximately how much weed goes into a batch of CCO? For the first time, think small batch please. I am convinced it will help her, but she isn't so sure yet and once she's made her mind up......... Well, I just have to prove to her that it works. Then I can make a larger amount to help her.

I just didn't know if would be that big of a difference. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pot. Your right about the soil, It is amazing stuff you cooked up. My plants grow great in that soil!
HI Smokey, we can get you by with a test batch using one ounce of bud. Think that's possible? We need to see what your total harvest is first.
One ounce of bud will take one bottle of Everclear.

Smoke, estimating is hard but I'd guess you are going to get about 1.5 oz off of each of the three plants you initially put into flower, plus a bunch of high quality trim and buds too tiny to bother with drying and smoking. That's a conservative estimate.
This bunch looks like they will be in flower for about 70 days, so you are growing ~ 1.8 grams of bud a day in the flowering tent. As you get dialed in with training I expect you can grow about 2 grams of bud a day in the 2x4 which is pretty decent. We would love to see how the oldest plants are looking - haven't seen 'em in a few days.
I did some google searching on how to partition a large grow tent and couldn't find much info. In discussions about it most people seem to think it is a poor idea. There are too many issues with making the partition light proof and more importantly you will have air extraction issues if there is only a fan on one side of the partition. The fan causes negative pressure that will always be pulling the partition material into the vented portion of the tent. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that I haven't seen it done. It's going to be a challenge.
How much was the shipping on the giant tent?
I need to do some stuff but I'll write more in a bit.

I may have done something stupid by getting the tent that may not work the way I had intended. I just had partitioning the big tent on my mind since I saw it, Oh, it cost $35.00 for shipping (so it didn't kill me financially, but the light was the last of the money we had to spend for anything non-emergency related). I figured I would be able to partition it from the beginning and make more room all around for vegging and flowering, Not so much for more plants (but since now I want to make CCO for the wife also, I have that in the back of my mind also for 1 or 2 extra plants at a time) but mostly for more room than what the bookcase supplies and the non stealthiness of the bookcase. I will just have to try and see if it works. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't. BTW, I forgot to mention, I will in the near future (if this looks like it may work) purchase a 4" splitter and and another filter along with another piece of 4" ductwork (as soon as I have saved the money, which shouldn't take to long for just those items) and run both filters thru the fan I have in the tent now so that it will be pulling it evenly from both sides. At least that was how I had envisioned it.
I will take some pic's today and post them of all the plants. I have Harley & Casey, Minnie and the Truthband in the flower tent. In the bookcase is a New York Power Diesel seedling, The Delicious Critical Super Silver Haze in a 1 gallon pot as well as a clone of the Amnesia in a 1 gallon pot and the actual Amnesia in its big pot which is only a little over a month old (unless I wrote down the wrong date) and 1 clone going from the Truthband and I'm full in the bookcase already and should get the DCSSH into a big pot, but haven't yet due to lack of room. But I'll take pic's of everything and post them up here a little later.

Don't worry about me today Canna, All I needed to know was how much weed it would take for a batch of CCO and you answered it. I hope your having a better day today but understand if your not. PJ, I forgot to mention, Minnie went into the flower tent on 3/9/16 according to what I have written down. So she hasn't been in there nearly as long as Harley and Casey. I had put Minnie and Jordan into the flower tent on 3/9 and found out a couple weeks later that Jordan was a male. Once he was 100% confirmed as male I was advised to remove him. But the up coming harvest will only be Harley and Casey only. Minnie is flowering and putting on trichs much faster than the first 2 did but know she won't be ready to harvest at the same time. Her pistols on each flower are straight white and are sticking straight out still (you'll see in a little bit when I take and post the pics). Sorry I didn't catch your comment about harvesting 3 the first time, but I was just thinking about what a dumb thing I did by thinking I could partition the big tent. I'm thinking of trying your original idea of just seeing if I can put one side of the big tent up for vegging and still using the 4' x 2' for flowering and adding the extra lights to it. I just feel stupid for trying to take such a big bite without realizing all the factors. Maybe if I could find someone who has a used 4' x 4' tent that would like a bigger tent, maybe we could trade if I can just find someone that is looking for a trade like that. I am just having a somewhat painful day but will smoke the last of what I have left of the test bud and then take the pics after I make sure the wife doesn't need to go anywhere first.

That's awesome! You need to get some snippers when you get a chance for trimming it up. Looks like the pistils are pulling back on Harley and Casey. Should be about another week or ten days.

Also Smoke, do you have and Yum Yum and worm castings left for adding to the used dirt after harvest?
Why not keep the small tent outside the big one and use the small tent and the bookcase for veg, and the large tent all for flower. if there is unused space in the big tent that is okay it will just help with air circualtion and temp control.

Yeah, I need to defoliate the Truthband and clean up Minnie a little, I've been wanting to do that since I put the Truthband in the tent. No, The T5 wouldn't fit in the tent, sorry, It's like 38 inches wide I think, I know it's a lot bigger than the two foot in the tent, And yes I do have Yum Yum but will have to get worm castings when I need more soil. We used up the worm castings making the fist batch. I still have about 2 or 3 big pots worth of soil at least left for the moment though. Maybe more, I have to move stuff off of the top of it to look and don't feel up to it today.

The only problem is a matter of space. I don't have room to put them both up in my room. Thanks for the idea Shiggity, but I think I'm going to try (hopefully I can) set up 1/2 of the big tent only. I also plan to use a Y duct splitter for my 4" ventilation and activated Charcoal filter(s) once I have the $$ to buy one for the veg tent. But I need to get one for whichever tent is going to be vegging (So far on mine, I didn't have any odor during veg on any of them yet), so I'll have the filter in the flower tent and add one a little later on the veg tent and just use a fan for circulating the air inside. Hopefully that makes sense.
Ok let me adjust that and say put the small tent inside for veg but put it all the way at the end of the big tent. We always need more space for flowering than veg. And this way no partition needed, there will just be a smaller tent at one end of the big tent.
This way one filter will work as the veg tent will still be inside the big tent. Just filter the big tent.

I never even thought of that, Thanks for the idea Shiggity! What do you think PJ? Using the small tent inside the big tent as an individual veg area that just also happens to be at one end of the big tent. The 2' x 4' tent contains the light very well, and all the vents can be closed before lights out for flower and air will still circulate through the round duct holes that will be cinched shut but I'll bet would let air thru still a little bit.
I agree. Light leaks from the veg tent would be a concern. You've gotta move some air through the veg area but the small tent is pretty light proof. the two big CLFs and the Mars 300 in the small veg tent. All the rest (T-5, 144x5, starter LED panels) in the big tent with no partition. It's not enough light to cover the whole remaining 6x4 space but you'll need room to walk in anyway.
