My First Time Growing

BTW, I just noticed today that the 707 Truthband and the Amnesia are growing fast again since I put the Mars light my wife got me in the bottom of the bookcase. (18/6 light cycle still, never changed it). The bookcase bottom has the original Amnesia (sprouted 3/20/16) and the 707 Truthband (sprouted on 2/23/16). The growth rate isn't drastically different, but enough that I noticed it even though I check them everyday.
So here they are, the next 2 plants that will go into flower after they've grown a bit more. Once the new tent is up and I have more room, it will be so much easier! :) Enough babbling from me, here they are:

They look super healthy and happy, and it looks like you have the perpetual going great already. :thumb: How are the trichs coming on your oldest girls? Frosty yet?

Catnip is most useful for mature cats. Kittens don't seem to get the same effect from it for some reason. I've had cats all of my life and this has proven itself to me many times.
So, speaking of that....I have my eldest cat on an oil regimen for her tum problems. She thinks she's a kitten again, I'm going to get the catnip out. LOL

Sorry to hijack your forum smoke, im liking that 707 truthband. Im gonna have to grow that strain myself soon, heard nothing but great things. You are getting to having a perpetual grow alot sooner that i could get it together. Props to you on that sir:thumb:

But: cannafan is the oil regimen you use, something i can aquire for my eldest? If it would help with all the vomiting and slow painful days she has. That would be awesome, nothing ive found @ petdumb has worked at all. Thanks ahead

Thanks Jimmie, No change in the trich's yet. But I'm not going to worry about it since it won't change anything by worrying. Besides the obvious, worst case scenario is this set of girls don't make strong medicine for us. I have more plants in veg and have the one that's been in flower since 3/9 (the older girls are almost exactly 60 days in flower and most of the leaves have yellowed and some are falling off now).

But I'm concentrating on figuring how I'm going to get the big tent setup this week if possible. My helper is going to be working his normal hours but his boss called him tonight and mentioned how busy they will be this week, so I'm not sure it will get set up this week. Anyways, I just took some closeups under the magnifying glass about 2 hours ago. The strange thing is with the LED's off and using regular light from the room, all over the heads I see yellowish/red threads that show up as white in the pics. Here are the pics:

Looking at them now before I posted this, I can kind of see the yellowish/red threads sort of hiding in them. The first 2 pics are of Casey and the third is Harley. In person I see the colored threads on all of them, but in these pic's, I don't see any on Harley. Weird. But that's it, nothing else going on, the girls in veg are vegging (all my plants in veg are feminized, so that's one less thing to think about right now) and I'm patiently waiting to see what happens with the girls in flower. Sorry for blabbing on so long. Everything is doing good here.

Thanks Radogast. But as far as pests go, we never really talked about them other than at the beginning and found some leaf damage, but nobody thought it was pests and we really didn't talk about it much after that other than to keep an eye on them if their is any leaf damage. Everything is indoors and have had zero contact with the outside.

No prob Jon, Talk away, I have no problem with it. I'm looking forward to trying the Truthband too, I searched for it and read some good things about it's THC content.

707 Truthband, Amnesia, a NY Diesel, Super Critical Haze ... You have a lot to look forward to :)

The tent will happen - too bad you had to be coy around the relatives, but it's usually the best idea. But too bad they couldn't put up your tent.

Thanks Radogast! That just goes to show the difference between a trained eye and an untrained one. Canna saw some too a little while ago, just not a lot. I can see them under the loupe, but will look closer tomorrow when the lights are back on. I want to see if I can see anything just by looking. Being that these will be the first I have ever grown/harvested, I am curious as to how they do. Thanks again Rad, I appreciate it.

They may be your first, but they won't be your best! I wish I had your greeen thumb. I expect great things out of your future grows.

Thanks again Rad, I am looking forward to my future grows too! I have some great strains starting out and am REALLY looking forward to them. The Sativa the most I think, I can't remember having any since around high school and just after. Back then, it seemed half of the weed I got really energized me. Then I stopped for a long time because of my work and since I have started again, it has all been indica. I love indica too, but really love the energy and fun when I smoke/vape a sativa.


As far as my green thumb goes..... I honestly attribute the good fortune I've had with the plants I have grown to the members here who have helped me in every possible way. I have learned so much from all you guys! If I hadn't found 420 mag I seriously doubt I even would have gotten past seedlings. I believe in giving credit where credit is due and that credit goes to all you guys! Just my opinion, but it's really what I believe.
 
Wow! Those buds are getting phat! The pistils on Harley and Casey are very impressive.

I think that they started flowering more like January 25, 11 days after the flip. That puts them at 51 days. The clone I used to show you LST and sex determination is a week or 10 days ahead of yours and will have been flowering for 9 weeks on Friday.

Reading back, I'm not clear on how the big tent is going to work. Your best bet may be to veg in the 4x2 under the small Mars and CFLS . Partition off half the big tent and light it with the T5 and big LED for flower?

The plan is to separate the sides of the big tent by putting the small tent inside the big one (after making the width a little smaller because they are the same depth. I will have the doors of the small tent opening to the veg side. Then I will use some heavy duty black plastic sheeting to cover the top, sides and anywhere there is a light leak between the 2 sides.

As far as lighting goes, I'm planning on using the Mars 144x5w on the flower side and an 8 bulb T5HO on the veg side (unless you think it should be reversed). I am also planning on using the small Mars light and the CFL's inside the small tent while it's in the big tent and have a shelf for the seedlings and clones to get them up close to the small Mars and CFL lights.

The biggest reason to use the big tent is more room and more stealth as it will be (the same place I have the little tent set up) against the same wall as the door into my room with a dresser preventing a casual peek and see the tent. Right now, if someone would walk past my door they would see the bookcase closed up and lighted inside, But I'm going to turn the bookcase back into a bookcase because I have run out of room to veg the plants to a good size in it (it's only 1' deep). The big tent should allow them to grow a little more so I will have a perpetual to get medicine for the wife and I can quit the narc's like we had planned.

But I don't have the room to have the 2 tents setup in the same room unless I put the little one inside the bigger one like I'm planning to do to separate the light cycles. A lot of it is what I need is just more room for the plants. It seems I've outgrown my original setup and just need something bigger. I already have almost everything to do it with. I just need to find a couple decent fans, one for each side of the big tent.

I was attempting to get some better pic's and got pic's of 2 things. First is Harley and you can see the colored threads that are usually hidden, the pic is still pretty blurry, but I was surprised that the colors came out in the pic of the yellowish/red threads.

The second pic is of Minnie, who got put into the tent on 3/9, but surprisingly, I think she has trichs showing already. These pics were taken thru the loupe, but on Minnie you can see the trichs with just a magnifying glass. So at least I know Minnie is producing trichs already. I was very surprised to see them so soon.

She has no colored threads at all yet and is still immature, but has trichs already (at least that's what I'm assuming is glistening on the buds). I was just surprised and figured I'd post this pic. They are trichs! Unless there are some other sparkly balls that grow on leaves! :thumb:

That's what they look like to my untrained eye, I'm just surprised to see them so early on this plant since it went into the flower tent on 3/9 (at least that's what I have written down), I need to get some painters tape to label them easier than with duct tape that leaves them all full of residue when you take it off.
