My First Journal: GG#4 In DWC & Soil

A little update on what's going on....I purchased a new 4x8 Mars-Hydro tent. I was going to add a second SP-250 to pair with my current one. One side would have gotten the SP-250's and the other side the TS-3000. Mars is also releasing a new series of lights soon so I will wait on that. One side of the tent will get both my TSL-2000's and the other side the TS-3000. I am hoping for a fast delivery date so there will be a major shuffling of plants and fans.

I am currently looking into adding these to the new setup that I will be running in the future. Thoughts? Pay no attention to the price. That's not for the net alone.

Looks like a lot of work changing the Rez once the plant hits flower.
I am putting bottom holes in the buckets to drain from the bottom and plugging them. I plan on raising my buckets off the ground then running PVC pipe from each bucket to one drain....Yes I am planning this big time lol

Theory is....if I raise the buckets off the ground on pallets, I can run pvc pipes underneath and out the tent to one main bucket. I may need a pump to pull the water from the buckets to the main drain but I am hoping gravity takes care of that for me. Only problem is buckets wont be able to move unless I disconnect the pipes underneath which I wouldnt plan on doing anways as I can just run water through the buckets from the side to really clean them. Maybe I am looking into it too much. I figure a little effort now can pay off in the future.

I am with Penny on this one. That will probably be more trouble than it's worth especially being that low. You have hit on an issue with growing in a bucket..... Not many options that stand out as the way to go.

I found an article where they took a standard tomato cage (wire formed round cages) found in most garden centers, drilled holes in the bucket tops for the (4) bottom wires and pushed the cage into the bucket lid. They then bent the legs over on the bottom side of the lid so that the lid can be moved for reservoir changes and monitoring the root system. This allows vertical growth and mounting points to tie them up when they get tall and heavy.

The TrainWreck I am growing now is a mess but the plant is known for that. Long weak viney branches. I just wrapped in in a net for support. I am going to try the cages next time.

Substantial growth in a 24 hour period. Going to start mixing a few extra gallons of nutrients per week from this point on. Drinking about a half gallon a day at this point. She's just about touching all sides of the tent as well. If she keeps going the way she is, I may need to bend down some stems on her. We will see in a another week.

GG#4 in soil is the one I am pointing at in the picture. She is just starting to stretch much faster

Love Potion #69 in her new fabric pot. I just moved her and watered her so she isn't too happy at the moment. I expect a full recovery within 24 hours. I should start the topping and training within a couple days.

To this day I am so happy that I made the switch to DWC. Still kicking myself for not attempting it sooner. I still am amazed at the overall size, growth and health of the plant. I am sooooooooooooooooo looking forward to getting the Love Potion #69 grow started. 4 in soil and 4 in DWC......

Who bred your Love Potion #69?
Lucky Seed Co. I got the pleasure to speak with them for a little bit and we decided to run these the Love Potions to see what comes of them. I started the one but that is more a little test subject for the larger grow. I should be starting them off very shortly.

Ok cool, I think it’s an old Reeferman strain. It’s won a few cups for Reeferman.
I know GSC Xtreme was one of the parents. I'll have to look back and see what the other parent was. I have always been a fan of the Cookie crosses.
