I got the new res installed after alot od cursing and bitching lol...I had to cut out 2 studs in the wall and cut the lips of the res to make it fit...barely. The drain lines are attached 5 inches higher than the last one and it seems to be working fine.the problem is the roots clogging the drains, especially on the hgk side. Because of this the hgk is obviously not happy, it isnt filling in as well as it should and I cant get to the roots because of the screen.Sooooo..I think ive decided to remove the screen next round and try a round without it.This will make things alot easier for me in several ways, I ll be able to move plants around and trim the roots if needed, I ll be able to rotate them and it will be alot easier to do maintenance, Im 6"2 250 pounds I dont fit into tight places and with the 3rd row of pots...well lets just say my big ass wont fit! the pk on the other hand is doing extremely well its starting to fatten up now and is actually putting on even more trychs. with the pk I dont think I really need the screen, it is a very stiff branched strain and with some training will self scrog nicely.Im going to place an order for some Sensi seeds Black Domina, I think it will have a very simillar structure to the pk so im thinking if I like it I can do a round of pk and then a round of Black Domina this should keep the people happy with some variety.

this is the chernobyl I was going to keep.It is taking longer to fatten up but it has alot more trych developement at this point than the other one.I will more than likely still keep this one, I have a feeling its going to be alot more potent and its for headstach:)

this is the afghan #1 that looks pure sativa to me, it actually smells simillar to the berrybomb so I think the Tude fucked up and sent me a mystery seed. hopefully its not a 14 week sativa, if it is its going in the hash pile

I really dont want to drain the res and drop each bucket idividually while my wife holds the plant up to trim the roots but I will if it gets any worse, ive had to do it before and its a messy wet shitty job lol...hope you guys enjoy the pics:)

the pk is hard as rock so hopefully 7-10 grams per cola the hgk wont be anywhere near that unless it decides to fatten up these last few weeks.this morning was the first morning I didnt have to adjust the ph and ppm's the bigger res is definetly helping but the drainage problem is going to affect my yield for sure.since im taking the screen out next round I wont have this problem and I ll be able to run the pump 24/7 like its supossed to be. that combined with more lights that are stationary should double my yield.

sooner or later I ll get this room dialed in lol...im still learning how to grow with led's and if I cant get this system to run right I ll be getting something like the flo n gro, apparently they cant be bought in canada so shipping is the same as the system itself but I like the ebb and flo design with the controller,there are other simillar systems available here.

Very interesting point about those copper disks !!! I didn't know all the above info about them, despite I have searched about iws system mostly , to avoid taxes as they are comming from uk ! I swear the god, I didn't hear good words about it in some other forums, but I'm sure cultivator will know better , to reply on this !!! Some ppl faced problems with stuck valves in the controller and frequent , floods !!!

Looking forward also to see the solution with the roots. This is something I was thinking about , but I see for example xlr8 never mentioned a clog problem, with this system. So... I'm really curious ..
Btw your pump doesn't run 24/7 ? (I missed that)

Can't you just put some tomato cages into the rock/soil like they are intended? Then attach the screen to the top.

Garden is looking good to me Jon. I can't tell some of those plants aren't happy, but you would know best :)
I'm not sure I understand what sort of hydro system you're running. I'm guessing it's some sort of double bucket system, and you can't remove the inner bucket because of the screen. Is that the problem? If it's only a couple of the plants, could you cut the screen for those plants? Cut out the problem plant's section of the net. Do what you gotta do, then put it back. You can use some twist ties to re-attach the piece of net you removed. I'm not saying to take it off the plants. Just cut a circle, or oval or whatever shape, around all the branches for that plant, but leave the screen wrapped around everything. I'm not sure I'm describing this idea very well. If you think it could be useful, I can try to clarify. Now if your branches are all tangled together from different plants, then my idea isn't going to work.

Funny shit!, and true story; for some odd reason, for a long ass time, we used to think that dog hair would keep deer away because of the smell, you know, dogs /deer. Friggin weed used to have so much dog hair in it! LOL! Deer are not afraid of dog hair, LOL, matter of fact, once havin tasted propagated vegetation, they get down right obnoxious and destructive. I have found only 1 thing that will deter deer.......3006 LOL! There is nothing like the taste of a young deers liver, floured and fried, with lightly sauteed onions on the morning of the kill!

The things (deer) are pests IMHO. Unfortunately, I live in the city limits, or I'd be eating LOTS of venison. I keep telling my buddy I'm gonna try a tazer or a crossbow with a bolt attached to a cable. I need a silent way to remove these nuisances!

I have a recurring dream like that..LOL, I shoot this deer with a bow in a neighborhood, and I'm chasing it down the street while it's screamin that deer scream...LOL...I like your idea, like a whale harpoon!

There are fewer in the yard this time of year. There are only a couple dozen a day. :icon_roll

I do appreciate the appeal of having the wildlife in town. It is certainly a testament to how rural this area is. We're planning to put up a fence this year. Then I can put in a dog door and the dogs will keep them out of our yard. I'm just frustrated because I want some venison. I did try hunting this year, but I didn't like that I could only shoot a buck. I don't care about the trophy. I want meat.

I think the tazer idea has merit too! I don't think they would be able to make that cry they make. Zap em, brain em, drag em into the garage and shut the door. If I did it in the winter, the garage would be a giant freezer.

Sorry to derail your thread about the deer. From my desk, I look out to the back of the house. There are no fences behind me at all, and it's mostly open. I'm also across the street from an old state fishery. It's a several acre area with only 2 buildings at the end furthest from me, so it's like a little wilderness across the road. A lot of deer live there and come through my yard as they head 'into town'. I can pretty much see deer at any time by looking out the windows. At least once, most days, I'll see a dozen, or more, in my yard at one time. OK I'm done about deer.

/e wanders off mumbling about 'damn vermin!'

ur going to run the drippers 24/7 mate? i think thats a bad idea personally. with drip irrigation i'd allow some dry periods to aerate the roots more. also in flower there are periods where i starve the plants for a few days then switch drippers back on. it doesnt half make the flowers swell. i actually got the idea from greenhouse seeds grow strains vids and it works a treat introducing dry spells.
