My First Grow Journal-Holy Grail Kush- Purple Kush 6x12 Scrog 4 x 600W LEDs On Movers

Re: My First Grow Journal-Holy Grail Kush- Purple Kush 6x12 Scrog 4 x 600W LEDs On Mo

I don't count from day of flip.
I start the count when I first see pistols..
But then again some people just flip the lights and start counting.
In my opinion, that transition period shouldn't be counted.
GLR and lights out before flip, can considerably shorten that transition to 5-7 days, instead of 2 weeks.
My latest flip showed pubes in about 6 days.

Hey jon,
Has the Igloo started to thaw out yet?
Or are you still frozen in!

Re: My First Grow Journal-Holy Grail Kush- Purple Kush 6x12 Scrog 4 x 600W LEDs On Mo

well i guess i have been shortening my flowering cycle by 2-3 weeks in previous grows and that is most prob why i never get solid nugs LOL wont be an issue this time. thanks for the replys

You ever try molasses bro?, they say it helps to stiffen up those buds. I have always used it and mine are comin out hard, I'll keep using it rather than take the chance without it. Seems to me that they get pretty dense within the first two weeks of full flower. I give it to em as soon as they're rooted, seed or cutting.

im getting some for the last 2weeks of flower. im going to use it as a flush additive too. i hear you can use it like that..

I'm using Molasses on flush days, and have been since 1st week into flower.
15ml's per gallon along with 1/4 strength of everything else..
Great cheap way to load up on the carbs when budding.
Just make sure to get the natural, sodium free molasses, or your plants could get overly salted.

So, youre adding diluted strength nutes on flush day? I just get the feeling my plants could take more nutes, I've given em full doses two times in a row and it didn't phase em. I'm tryin to justify giving em more...LOL...without burnin em.

yep.
Of course not final flush, but according to a Feed/Feed/Flush nute feeding sched.
X got me into flushing with 1/4 strength nutes.
Better for the plants than plain water.
Like molecules bond better with like molecules, so it's less stressful.
Has been working great for me so far with no major burn issues, and the plants seem happy.

But if you're plants are telling you they HUNGry!
Then up the ante a bit at a time!

just keep an eye on your PPM's

Re: My First Grow Journal-Holy Grail Kush- Purple Kush 6x12 Scrog 4 x 600W LEDs On Mo

Interesting information about using copper to keep roots out of the lines. I've heard that's an issue with Ebb&Gro too. I used this system a long long time ago, but I don't remember having that problem. I'm wondering if this would work. Take some solid copper electrical wire, make a sort of knot/tangle with a strait 'tail' sticking out. If you stuck the tail into the drain of the bucket, the water would be able to flow around it, and it would keep the roots away. Think that would work?

I already implemented another solution, but I'm always open to new ideas! I put elbows into my buckets and then connected those to the T with about 15" of tubing. This gives me more room to move the buckets around and it makes it less likely one plant's roots will block the line feeding its neighbor. This is just my theory though. We will see how it works :)

its - 29 right now without the windchill bro my backdoor is frozen shut and so the drain for my washing machine lol,,,its ccccold!

I can relate! I had to put a little space heater into the crawlspace 2 weekends ago. Washer drain pipe froze. Just like last year.

If you're in the "Great White North", whats the name for NE WA? We're basically southern BC here hehe

well this root problem is pissing me off, especially on the hgk side its barely draining and the plants arent happy about it.the nugs arent filling as nice as the pk thats for sure and they are starting to flop all over the place. at least I found my main strain, the pk looks awesome i ll do an update in the morning.the berrybomb looks and smells awesome very dense nugs and I csn smell the berry in it its doesnt smell like any strain ive grown kind of unique.

Re: My First Grow Journal-Holy Grail Kush- Purple Kush 6x12 Scrog 4 x 600W LEDs On Mo

the screen is only six feet wide and i can cover more space than that if the lights are at the right height so ive almost convinced myself to remove it next round and spread the plants out a bit, this would make things alot easier for me, defoliating under there with 3 rows of plants is gonna suck bigtime and if that screen wasnt there I could trim the roots back and it would'nt be a problem right now.Im feel like im wasting space what do you guys think?

my hydro shop has this copper mesh for outdoor plants, you put it around the stalk and it keeps slugs away. Im thinking of trying that out next round, I can stretch it out over the drain holes in the buckets im not exactly sure how I will attach it yet but im sure i ll figure it out.It will be very interesting to see if it works out, if it does then I will probably stick with this style of system for my new space and save a bundle.

I think that's a great idea.
Huge tomato cages paired with stakes?

or..

You know what I'd really like to see?
That room, full of of porta scrogs.
Then you could push around the room in an office chair, tending your garden like a Don.
Just make sure you put a drink holder on it.
lol

I was thinking about that last night bro, I just have to figure out a way to attached them so I can still take the net pots out. sure would be nice to be able to defoliate in my computer chair:)

Re: My First Grow Journal-Holy Grail Kush- Purple Kush 6x12 Scrog 4 x 600W LEDs On Mo

Yeah that would work and would be cheaper. Just make sure its quality copper, as not sure what effect any impurities might have.
thanks C I think its good quality copper, gonna be a pain in the ass installing it over 27 drain holes, the joys of growing:)

Thanks vick, Im growin in soil...organically. I keep rampin it up a little at a time, it's a little different with these organic nutes I'm usin, as it seems to take around 5 days for the previous treatment to show an effect, basically, I'm hittin em again when the previous application is kickin in, makes me think...LOL. I'm trying to think my way into a hibrix environment, feeding the soil, and letting the process happen the way I see it in terms of hibrix principles and fundamentals.
