Munki's "Al Naturale" Autoflower Outdoor Escursion - 2011

Day 43, afternoon. She is filling in quite nicely. Just a joy to behold nature at work. Easy, breezy grow so far! :) Watered with plain water today. Only added water or the nutrient water every other day.

An AF outdoors must definitely be easier than a photoperiod-dependent strain outdoors that the grower must manually cover or move each day in order to achieve flowering in the grower's time instead of the plant's.

Although I wonder about getting a 30-gallon or larger container (such as an aluminum trash can), planting a photoperiod-dependent strain in the ground, removing the bottom of the can and parking it "on top of" the plant, and just sticking the lid on each night.

BtW, your plant looks great, Munki!

Looks amazing! :bravo:
I aspire to sew an outdoor plot of auto's up here in the mountains.

Both sound like great ideas! and both are right: looks awesome munki!

Hey, thanks everyone for the comments. Been fun comparing the effort needed here versus a hydroponic, indoor grow. The experience has been most refreshing. As for the growth, it really helps taking these regular photos as I don't notice the growth too much in real time, but going over the past pics really show how fast she changes.

Had her under the LED last night and for most of the day today. Got pretty cloudy. She's getting some afternoon sun now though. :riskybusiness:

Easy breezy beauty. Instant action; just add water and watch it grow!

I've balked at the price of the magic bean, but
It delivers. compact & concise :hmmmm:

I agree on the seed price since one cannot easily make more of them. Would be great to have a Sea of Green consisting of these, but the price would be tough to swallow.

Day 46, afternoon. Plant is measuring at 11 inches tall and about 2 inches wide in the budzone. Trich density in increasing. She is smelling terrific! :yahoo:

Day 48, afternoon. She is still plumping out with smells becoming stronger each day.

The fan leaves are not so green anymore. The leaf below is the worst off with blotchy light green areas showing. Not sure if it is nutrient lockout, nutrient transport to the central bud region, or maybe just age of the plant. She is expected to finish in about 16 days.

Hi Munki -

Not sure about your leaves, but I had some leaves do that at about the same stage on the auto I just grew, especially older lower leaves. I think if everything else is still healthy, you should be fine. My guess is more inline with nutrient transport and the age of the plant, but that's just a guess. Looks nice and frosty! :yummy:

Munki, dude, looking GGGRRRRRREEEEEAAAAAATTTT!!!:bravo:

I typed a really long post for ya, but lost my connection, I almost punched my computer, again, lol...that one cost me $250 last time....but anyways, an abbreviated version, hehe:

Don't worry about the leaves, I am 99% sure it is age. This is common in Ruderalis a.k.a. Autoflowers, due to their limited lifespan.. Near the end of the cycle, they have to drop lower fans and even secondaries to redirect energy to areas needed to reproduce. Look for foxtailing in next week to ten days, and probably a finish about a week later than the 16 days , if I'm seeing the plant right, harder in pictures to read them...Once again, looking great as always buddy, stay green, God bless, and PEEEEEEAAAAAACCCEEEE!!!:peace:

Looks like age to me as well. I wouldn worry it looks fantastic! Never seen anyone do an autoflower outdoors so thumbs up for ingenuity!

Thanks everyone. I agree that the fan leaves are showing their age and I'll check the plant in two weeks but am willing to let it go longer if need be.

:thanks:

Day 50, afternoon. Still filling out, getting sticky n' stinky! ;)
