Ok now for the smoke report......let me start off by saying i took 3 hits and set it down......went to do the report on the boiling water method(previous post).....and what should have taken a couple minutes took my butt 20 minutes:rofl: whew ok now on to business......intial hit went in very smooth.......expanded in my lungs quick......hacked that hit out almost immediately:)lol the taste is a green taste and well your gonna think this sounds funny, but had an oriental food undertone to it....i know i am a weirdo:)lol........i am not real good at picking out different flavors, but on my second and third hits it brought me back to a chinese resteraunt:).....the exhale was much better the second and third hits as i didnt take as much......so i set it down and went to typing the previous post......i dont know how many times i caught myself just staring at the screen off in wonderland......would start typing and drift off again........the buzz started kicking in within 10 minutes if not sooner....to be honest i kind of lost track of time:)lol........but it was fairly quick, but a creeper..........as in i didnt realize how high i was as when i first felt it coming i was like oh well this feels like a pretty mellow buzz, but a while later i am sitting here thinking about how high i am:) whew......i am baked my friends:).....its a functioning high....energetic too.....i was feeling lazy 30 minutes ago and now i cant seem to type fast enough....when i stay focused:)......this is my first time smoking Northern Lights and will definately not be the last time......next time i will grow a photo of it.........now this buzz is just after 4 days from chop....burned very nice in the bowl with no additional drying ......wow....its only been 11 minutes since my last post.....yep....she is a keeper.......like always...any questioons just ask:)

This is greatly helpful! I wanted to try but yea like your saying if its not something thats like, wow life changing, i dont want that extra work - Not to mention the crazy bleaching you probly have to do to get that anerobic funk out - I didnt think about that.......... I bleach anyways for safety, but it i dont like / want to do it out of pure necessity.......

Nice smoke report - Did you choose to grow that strain or did you just END UP growing that strain :)

Same here Robert....with the bleach.....and hell i even use bleach on my hydroton rock to clean them.....i have the zip up mesh laundry bags that hold enough to fill a net pot so i pour in there.....soak with bleach.....toss it around moving all of them really good then rinsing.......the bags allow it to dry naturally.....then they are ready for the next girl.....dont like doing it but just made sense to kill any unwanted bacteria:).....pure necessity as you said:)

what do you use to filter the roots out of it? i was thinking of making a screen or something but im curious if your bag trick does it all in one :) I have 8 gallons worth of clay pebbles i need to clean and they are just sitting there from transplanting the 6 skywalker OGs back to soil lol

The mesh laundry bags work really well for straining out organic matter, even twigs and what have you. We used a few mesh laundry bags for collecting brass after a live fire exercise on leased farmland. we'd shovel dirt/sand/casings into the bags and shake em' till the sand came out. Then we were able to pick out the brass for sorting.


Glad to hear the smoke did its job Green! I've got a NLxBB auto that is doing well, Im hoping to get atleast an oz out of it. But hearing your smoke report, I'd like more than an oz hehe.

As for the boiling water thing, Im gonna give it a try myself, should be a bit easier on me since Im using a hempy bucket. I'll just boil, pour, and watch it drain into the bathtub.

It was a freebie and being we never had it and it didnt say auto so i thought she was a photo....but wanted to try it....as a matter of fact the critical jack herrer is a freebie too....and the white widow:)lol.....i do have 3 bought strains goiing too:)

The roots from the bleach and tossing it around get tore up into smaller pieces.....when it is dried out i shake the bag up and down and most of the roots fall to the bottom or out the mesh....i then scoop the pebbles out into the net pot and just careful when i get to the bottom.....normally grab where the bulk of the roots are and turn the bag until i get all the pebbles out:)

Jinn....i use the same method for collecting brass bro....thats where i came up with it for the pebbles....i love it........give it a go...the boiling water......like i said that is just for my situation.....may work better in hempy:)

Great smoke report GD, can't wait for my little NL auto to be done, a whole left yet though..how did you find doing a auto in DWC or.did you do it in soil man i can't remember lol

I havent had success with autos in dwc, but the first two were one of my first grows with dwc and autos .......i only ended up with about 1 1/2 ounce off each.....now i know thats good for some people but i know it could have been better as i was still learning a lot and making a lot of mistakes like i topped them when they were about 6 inches tall and nute problems so they didnt have a good start....jsut like this last one....teh NL........i am gonna try another one at some point because i feel like i could do really good with it.....jsut need some more experience i think:)

Hey GD looking good, nice buds there buddy! Sometimes good things come in small packages, that's what my 4'10" mom used to tell me.

I know you probably hit this before but what was your impression with the LED lighting?? Whats next up for you in the lighting department? I'm about done my run and looking to the future as I have clones and about to pop some seeds too.... I have HID and some TopLeds I got for a song on epay and am thinking about getting a diamond XTE here .... so impressions are helpful. If nothing positive to report nuff said no pressure. I have a little runt I grew this time and test smoked it and its prolly the best smoke I've had in a long while, I think someone that doesn't smoke everyday would be in one of those wigg outs. that's probably true tho of all the good dank the we grow here, eh?

Faster turn around time (generally), although depending on your light schedule they can take just as long as photos.

its more or less dependent on the light schedule. Certain light schedules will result in fast turn around low yield, and others will produce higher yields with slower turn around.
Wildjim has a fast and vast auto that I think is gonna end up yielding about 13oz....
