It's ages since I've had edibles & I've not enough trim to make anything with it yet :( Do autos not stay small in small pots?

I have only grown them in 3 gallon airpots except a poor attempt at hydro with a couple but that went horrible:).....didnt have a clue what i was doing.......these short ryders are small plants anyhow....i have grown 3 or 4 of them in the beginning....one in ffof with organic nutes...ended up with about 1/2 an ounce.....then the other in the waterfarms but like i said....didnt know what i was doing.....i am hoping that i can do a little better with these 3......

got some handy info.

I'd like to try some of the autos I have, but I don't really want to take any of the space in tent away from silver and pineapple =/

I'm sure you'll do better this time, I believe you can get away with quite a lot of training with autos, everything bar topping :)

good read Jinn......thank you for the link.....i ran them on 18/6 the other times but this time will be 12/12 as they will be in the flower room as soon as they pop and i transplant them

yeah Mr Skunny....i plan on lst ing them.....get the most i can......i dont expect much from them, but damn if it isnt some good smoke:)

Hey Green Dreamz :)
On the auto topic of training and topping. You can most definitely top autos to great success. I used to run auto only and worked a way to top train for good constant yield. You just have to top on a micro scale, just like skunnys soft topping but lots smaller and early on. They hardly miss a beat with this. Then just use simple lst to train limbs out horizontal and into even space. I even twist the stem slightly so limbs don't repeat over each other. :) Simple but effective! :)

This is the subtle kind of stuff that can completely change a grow, +rep for this most definitely.
If you made a tutorial with pics for this I have no doubt a lot of people would benefit from and enjoy it!

I have lst d the northern lights auto, but she is growing kind of wonky.....there is no ryhme or reason to the way the limbs are growing....one side is maybe 3 inches and the opposing side is maybe a 1/2 inch...i did supercrop what i could but wasnt much to grab onto....i will keep pulling them down and horizontal as they grow....got little popcorn buds on her right now....like a whole 6 or 7 of them:)lol
i will update some pics when i transplant the new pineapple chunk.......the three auto short ryders havve all cracked open so probably tomorrow will be a transplant day for all 4 new babies.....until them keepem green:Namaste:

Well lets think lol. I basically drown em with light from 2-4 cfls, at about an inch or 2 off plant. I also use opening up of the main growing tip from the first set of leaves when very young. I must stress this is a must!!! As often as possible open the immature tip up to the light. This gives you lots of nodes and limbs in not much height.
So by the time its say 4 inches tall I'd have say 6-7 nodes. Sometimes I top em as early as 3 inches. When the tip I take off is so micro you hardly see it lol.

A thread on auto training techniques is a great idea, there's a lot of growers using them now & it'd be a great help to em :)

You open up the new growth by pushing the baby leaves open, this gets light in & the plant responds with tight node spacing
