MSquared's - Indoor - Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

Keep in mind it is still very early in my high Brix "experiment"...so things could still go in different directions...but as of this moment I'll say I'm seeing some of the fastest growth, and best looking plants I've ever grown, and they're growing in out-of-the-bag potting soil, a bit of manure and some rock dust! :)

It wasn't that long ago I was where you are now! I was very happy with my soil mix and using OC+. Things were simple and the weed was first-rate! I didn't want to change! But if you could see the smile on my face when I step into my grow room now... :yahoo:

We'll have to wait and see how things turn out, but if they keep going in the current direction I won't be looking back!

:Namaste:

LOL, I can only imagine you and doc with your face cramping ear to ear grins! :cheer:

I am will finish the new soil tonight. I am using coast of maines products as well for my soil base. How do you like the eggemoggin blend as a fert?

Thanks for everything Vape!

Good Afternoon :420:
~ Veg update Info/Pics and a little problem ~

Hey there everyone out in 420 land! This is just a little update for everyone. I am starting to have a couple issues that I sure hope I get some advice on. I am not sure of the cause of this, but would surely like to get it sorted all out. So any input is welcome! :high-five:

here is the left side of the room. In the 2nd pic is a more close up of the leaf issue that my RB is having. IDK if it was from light stress, I mean they did go from a cfl bank of about 400w (actually it may have had roughly 100w for this plant as I had 6 under the cfl bank) to a 600w MH and a 600w HPS (even though the HPS was raised high) over them.

Here is the right side and I have a different plant with kind of the same looking leaves as my RB, this one is an IDK so do know what this.

Here are the seedlings. I am losing one, but no biggee really, but the rest are doing well. I think out of all of them only one is a fem seed (VK2).

So that about does it. I would really like some help on the leaf issue. I am open to about anything. My medium recipe is on here somewhere and I call answer any and all questions that may come up.

Thanks everyone! :peace:

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

Looks like they need magnesium

:thumb: thanks Smokz! I agree and I have amended my soil and fed them a tea last night. I will post the pics shortly as a comparrison to yeserterdays. I think they started correcting themselves overnight!

:peace:
Yeah, I agree. Got CalMag? Otherwise :thumb:

:peace:

:goodjob: and :thanks: Abe! I was thinking along those lines as well. I believe they started correcting themselves after I made a few modifications to their medium. I will get into all that when I do my update a little later on.

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

I think the site went down for a while, lost my really long post. I hope I didn't cause it :) It is Friday the 13th after all.

Well let me try this again! lol

Happy Friday the 13th :420:

~ Veg Update Info/Pics ~

So where to start... hmm, Ok. As you know I was having some leaf issues yesterday and after a couple of suggestions (Thanks Smokz and Abe). It was concluded it was a magnesium deficiency. I needed to feed them anyway. I used my tea (which I will get into that later), but first I needed to amend the soil a little. I removed several cups of medium and put in 2 TBL of my 6/5/3 powders (I will get into that a little later as well) into each pot. I then replaced the removed soil back into the pots. excellent I thought. I then fed them with the brew I made. By looking at yesterdays pic v todays pic, I think they improved overnight. so with that lets get to the pics.

Lets start on the left side of the grow room - group shot. Here you will see JH on the left, RB2 rear middle, SSH front center and IDK2 on the right.

I am thinking that they should make a full recovery. I sure hope they recover fast as I need to take cuttings and flip them to flower soon. I want to make sure they are fully healthy before doing any of that.

On to the tea. I use to use pantie hose to contain all the solids in my teas, but it was pointed out that not all of the beneficial bacteria/fungi can get through those very small holes and I should instead use a paint mesh strainer (thanks Vape). So that is what I did this time. I started my tea on Monday and used my nice bubbled/aerated water. I then put the air stone in and fired it up. I then put the alfalfa, EWC and Bio Tone into the mesh bag and dropped into the water. Stirred and stirred it and stirred pretty often. On Wednesday night I put in the organic blackstrap molasses into the water and stirred it up and let it bubble away. Then last night turn it all off and wrung out the mesh bag and used the brew on my ladies. This is about my 3rd revision of this tea and I think it keeps better and better. Here is the sheet I use for this procedure.

I also built my new soil mixture last night which is a high brix approach to gardening. So any new plants that I need to transplant will be going into this mixture from this point forward. So here is the recipe that I followed.

I sure hope it works the way I think and want it to. :thumb:

Please let me know if anyone has any questions, comments or concerns!

:peace: and have a great 420 weekend!

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

I cant wait to see how your high brix soil mixture works out for you!

How much roughly did all the stuff cost to make your mix?

Hey there Shottafire! Been a while, nice to see you! :thumb:

That is a good question. Lets see...
Now mind you I usually buy in bulk where I can.
So after doing a little math, I am thinking about $30 bucks to build each round of soil. Now the mix I posted above gives me about 25gal of mix.
The bulk of the price comes from the soil I am using which is $9 per bag and 2 of those each time = $18. the rest of the supplies you buy once and they last quite a long time. Also keep in mind that some of my supplies pull double duty like the earth worm castings I use in my teas and of course the organic blackstrap molasses pulls double duty as well in my teas along with the bio tone.

I sure hope this helps! :thanks:

:thumb: I am trying, I guess I had to know for myself what this would be like. Great or not so great (don't think it could be bad) either way I will find out!
Yeah me to brotha! :peace:

Gotta subscribe because I am almost certainly going to have to do my growing indoors. My balcony gets ghastly hot summer sun and zero sun for 6 months out of the year. Sigh.

Grow box or tent is inevitable, so I can learn from you. I will be going organic.

No problem and happy to have you! :welcome:
I must admit I have read your journal so far and I have seen you have gotten some really good advice from some really great :420: members. :thumb:
Stop by anytime and ask anything you want if I can't answer it I know that somebody will, that is why this community is so GREAT!

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

so some really insteresting news...

I was going to start really gardening this weekend and I went out back to my compost pile on friday to see if any of the compost was ready to be used in my veggie gardens and I looked down and saw this poking out of the ground!

2012-04-14_16-12-29_281.jpg

Holy Sh.. I thought and looked around for whatever reason to see if there were more, I just couldn't really believe what I was seeing. So I kept looking around the pretty big pile of compost I had been collecting since last spring and I found....

Thats right 13 of these seedlings.... I was just dumb founded for like an hour or two!

I went inside and got the solo cups and filled them up with some of the composted soil and transd them.

So I have no idea what strain they are and I hope at least some make it. I found 13 of them on 4/13, Talk about lucky! still don't really believe it....

:peace:

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

lucky day... :cheer:

:thanks: No doubt! I still can't believe it. I have gone out each day since looking for more, but I must have found them all. I will have an update tomorrow for my grow. I am not sure what to call them. I already have 2 types that I don't know what they are.
I have called some IDKs (I don't know) and the other unknowns are TMs (tasty meds). So I need another name for these and I am hoping you guys can give some good ideas.

Thanks and :peace:

Re: MSquared's - Indoor/Soil - Multi Strain - 1800w - Perpetual

So I thought I would throw an update everyones way!

Everybody is doing well. The new LTs (Lucky Thirteen (haven't fully decided on what to call them yet)) are doing well and so far none have died. yeah!

Here is a pic of the largest that was from the first day and the 2nd pic is from this morning. So about 4 days apart.

4 days ago:

So that about does it. I have transplanted two of the big veg girls into my high brix soil and I am thinking about doing a few more. I still need to give them another 9 days or so before flipping. I will also be cloning all of them this weekend.
