Mr Teddy's Greek Indoor Grow - Indicas - Soil - LEDs

I was just thinking Mr. Teddy. Your best attribute is that you listen (read) and learn. Then you put what you've learned to work. In a very positive way my friend. You have my admiration for sure. Glad you like the Frisian Due. I thought you would. Waiting for you to try the Mazar when it's ready. :yummy:

We have separate bathrooms too. Just saying....
:Namaste:

Pip Pip Old Boy.....

:yummy:Certainly what the OMM said:cheesygrinsmiley:

I agree OMM. Teddy is great at taking advice from everyone but applies it to his plants how he sees fit. :bravo: I love watching your ladies flourish. Keep up the good work!

Hullo Playmates :ciao:

You're very kind. But if you were getting art lessons from Cezanne, chemistry lessons from Marie Curie or songwriting lessons from Gershwin, you'd be potty not to pay attention, n'est pas? :laughtwo:
:thanks:

And anyway, OMM, that's not my best attribute. My best attribute is undoubtedly my fine, unbroken Roman nose. But you're going to have to take my word for that.

So now, especially for jaga (no-one else can look).....

DAY 38: GREEN CONFUSION UPDATE

The top tops have been triple topped. The lower not top tops have all been topped. *Thinks.....should have bought TopLEDs for a punchline* Bit of browning and MasterKush - not Mazar who I erroneously blamed for the Mag deficiency in my last post :lot-o-toke: - is still suffering. But nothing serious. Another 6.45am spray tomorrow.

It's quite busy in there. And smelling tremendously green. Tomorrow is a bit more training and possibly a water. Here, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, is the photographic evidence:

Oh! Where are you Mr. Teddy?

Here I am OMM. :ciao:

As a short introduction, it's been a traumatic couple of days. Two nights ago I was about to post a little update after watering and tying down. When suddenly Mrs Teddy and I heard this dreadful crying. I knew who it was immediately. Rushing outside into the mist I found Teddy in a terrible, shocked state and clearly hurt somewhere. We couldn't find any obvious marks on him, but he couldn't lie on his stomach. It was after midnight so the chances of getting a vet were zero. So we wrapped him up and I spent the night with him on the the sofa and floor. During which time, OMM, I read your blog. Completely. What a story. And terrifically told. What a great cast of characters and all brought to full life. You got me through a long, dark, cold night. Thank you so much for writing it. *Chapeau*.

The next morning he was still in pain so it was a family trip to the vets. He had been attacked by one of the semi-feral dogs here, of which there are many. When dogs have puppies here often the family can't afford to feed them and rely on the generosity of the shop owners in the village who always leave out food and water. But these dogs are unpredictable and Teddy is such a friendly little chap; he got mauled. I'd kill the dog if I knew which one it was. Really. I was angry.

However, Teddy is patched up now and will be fine. But he's still sore and looking very sorry for himself. And I'm not letting him out at night any more.

All of which means that this is...:tommy:...

A DOUBLE ROLLOVER JACKPOT UPDATE

Two days ago - day 40. Watered and trained a little harder. I don't see any need to feed. Just a kelp spray every two or three days. Sorry, only tent snaps:

Today - day 42 - I took some more time for the pics. They are growing fast, generally healthy and those bud sites keep reaching up to the PlatinumLEDs like kids for candy. Let's take a peep through the window first and get a faceful of fragrance. Bam. So much nicer than walking through the perfume counters.

Blueberry. Terrific plant and no signs of trouble at all.

Mazar has been most affected of the three by the hot soil, but she's leaving those problems behind (or at least below).

I think they are looking fine. Remember, this is my first time indoors, so any advice is welcome. Or just cut and paste this:

:bravo: Mr Teddy

Now I have some journal catching up to do. Let's hope Lester hasn't photographed or SoilGirl hasn't posted, otherwise there's going to be a lot to read. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:cheesygrinsmiley:

Great color on those girls - they're lookin' happy!

I thought they seemed a little soggy in the 40 day pics, but were nicely perky by the 42's.

Thanks, Gray. (Glad to see you're overcoming your little soil hitch too.) Yes, they did droop, well spotted. But it had been 5 or 6 days since the last water and they were bone dry. They are incredibly responsive these plants, aren't they? `They can be as sensitive as a wounded dog and as tough as a bad Greek sausage. *Thinks about making a comparison with Mrs Teddy but decides that discretion is the better part of valour*

LOL, as far as teasing comments directed towards wives, might I adapt an old adage ... ?

"There are old husbands and there are bold husbands, but there are no old bold husbands."

:laughtwo:

We must be on the same wave length Mr. Teddy. I just felt something was amiss. That is why I asked where you were. Poor Teddy. I am so glad he is going to be OK. Coincidently I have been thinking of writing another story. I am so glad that you found my blog interesting and it helped you through that bad night with Teddy. :bravo:

Needless to say, your plants look wonderful. Cheers.
:high-five:

Thank you, OMM. Teddy is back to almost normal now and if the muse strikes you, please do blog more. The stories are terrific and you write them so that the reader wants to know - the mark of a good teller - what happens next?

.....

I have a question for all you masters and mistresses of the art out there. When to move to 12/12? I know you can grow from the start at 12/12 - I'm watching Ricorico at it now. They are 42 days old now. I assume one can veg indefinitely. And I assume the benefit is bigger root systems, larger plants, more buds? We have enough from the summer for another couple of months or so. Please send answers on a postcard to:
Mr Teddy
Greece
or, if you have a computer, you can use the internet.
:thanks::circle-of-love:

Hi Mr. Teddy!

Oh my god, that's awful about little Teddy getting attacked. Yes, no more letting him out at night! I wish him a strong, speedy recovery... So sorry for him! Give him some love from me! :circle-of-love:

But your plants are coming along so nicely! You must be getting excited for the coming flower... which brings me to your Q.

If I were you... I'd keep holding the stronger nodes tied down for about 2-3 more weeks, but release your weaker nodes right now from training. They'll start to grow upward which translates into dominance and strength, AND you can LST them again once they get some height and strength if you so choose, (just let them go vertical again before switching to flower) that should even out your plant's nodes in strength and size alot.

Then, I'd go another 2-3 weeks letting ALL the nodes go vertical for at least 3-6 inches, opening up new growth (early fans and tips of nodes) very gently as often as you can; opening them up pre-maturely forces them to mature and really encourages tight node growth and beautiful, dense colas. (this may not sound like a big deal, but it really is if you're consistent) Vertical is a MUST. otherwise you're wasting all that effort you put into training and you wont have any big long colas, only popcorn sized buds like my latest harvest haha (Hey I'm happy I have buds at least though! And they're at least big popcorn! LOL) .... in flower, those cola sites should about double their size. so a 3 inch cola should become about 6 inches and 6" > 12", and so on.

I'd also do a little minor lollipopping on low growth to kind of...streamline your plants. (I know this worries you! I'm sorry! But it might help alot!) Low nodes that are going to be covered up by leaves or are too close to one another to really thrive, I'd remove, as well as any strong high fans that could be a big shade problem, or low fans that aren't doing much.

That's my advice! Take it or leave it hahah. :ciao:

Edit: I was just reading about those tippy top fans being important for CO2 storage during the dark phase of flowering... (during the dark phase, your plant starts using the CO2 its stored through the day, usually 500 ppm is regular in air, to build up the buds. Buds really grow overnight! If you up the CO2 level to something like 1200 ppm overnight it could really stimulate fat bud growth!) so yeah like always, there's debate to be had over their removal.

I also read they store a lot of important nutes.
But I will be removing those on my plants anyways. :) just saying

O my Mr Teddy :thumb::thumb::thumb:You have full REPs my friend that is some beautiful training
A nice even canopy ,, an they look very well :surf::clap::clap:
I was shocked to hear of Teddy being attacked like that:volcano-smiley:there is not alot other than keeping him out of the way of the feral dogs you cn do:volcano-smiley:His pride will be hurt for a while so give him a big hug from me an Ms P :hug:and keep doing what you are doing well done Love to you an Mrs Teddy
:circle-of-love::peace::circle-of-love:

Happy that mr T will be alright  stray dogs are unpredictable, good thing it was not something more.

Really love the shade of green the girls have. Keep up the good work :goodjob:
As for your question, I see you've got great answers to it :circle-of-love: Don't think there's anything more I would add, but if you are not in a hurry, the girls will eventually show you pre-flowers when they mature and want to start flowering. Look for swollen nodes and small calyx forming on them.
:cheer:

hmmmm re-reading my last post here maybe I put those time frames too long- my plants were going slowly until recently and they're now going through a growth spurt. maybe change each time I said "2-3 weeks" into 1-2 weeks, depends on how fast your plants grow. I think I stand by everything else I said though haha. And daTs had a good point too. though yeah like you said, you could veg indefinitely if you wanted. it'd be good to keep an eye for early signs of their sex though, even if those seeds are feminised they might have a male :S

Hope you and Mrs. Teddy and the plants are all well today!

Hullo Growing Friends. And thank you SG, daT and jaga for your responses. and :thanks: to you. You are really kind.

I've been a little poorly for a few days but well on the mend now thanks to the administrations of Mrs T. More importantly, little Teddy is quite better. He appreciated your concern. I did of course manage to crawl to the tent and followed your advice to the letter, SoilGirl: tied down the strong shoots further and opened up the lower ones. I took off some fans, but only the ones which had died because of the hot soil. About 5. :laughtwo: I'll wield the shears a little more confidently after lights on today. All is looking good and green in there. I shall post some photos later.

Hope everyone is :surf: the occasionally choppy waters of life happily.

DAY 47 UPDATE

Hullo Chums :ciao:

The mists rolled down the mountain today and the village was silent and shrouded with everyone hunkered down against the cold. I took Teddy for a walk and the wonderful smell of wood-smoke hung in the still air.

When I got back it was time for an airpot dunking and a very light BioBizz Grow top feed. Which meant that Mrs Teddy's bathroom had another clean. I took these snaps as I carried them to the feeding station. They do not have the infinite variety of SoilGirl's work, the purple glory of daTenshi's buds, the delight of brightlight, the sunshine of Lester, the sophistication of Ricorico, the sudden size of jaga or the eye-popping candy of Graytail (by the way, damn you Gray, damn you and your superb Destroyer to hell - my first POTM entry and you pop up. Even I had to give you my vote :laughtwo:). But they're mine and I love them.

Here's Blueberry. No problems, no worries, just fine I think.

Mazar, pretty much recovered from the early hot soil problem. The smallest leaves of the three but none the worse for that. Fragrant as Mrs T before a night out at the Taverna.

After watering I tied down some of the stronger top buds on all of them to try and even out the canopy and took off a few fans. Then back under the heavenly light. I think Gandalf did the product spec and unicorns were involved.

Thank you for coming by. It's truly appreciated. :passitleft:

May your god go with you.
