Mother of Berries, M.O.B. Maine Strain

That's one hell of a defol job man. I hope they recover well for you. Just a thought. Are your small plants on a 12/12 schedule also?

I think they will be fine. I did more to the MOB and way later then I should have and she seemed to progress fine w/o leaves. I'll keep an eye on them for sure and ready to triage if necessary but confident going forward as I not only have had the past experience but read up on it as much as I could as I would do with any other decision. It will set me back some time and perhaps so by a few weeks, which is fine as I am not in any kind of hurry. The traditional argument here is that the leaves are solar panels, etc. the other is that the plants are utilizing resources for other parts of plant and can be eliminated. I'm inclined to believe the latter based on research and presented evidence. Many resources, favorite provided:

8 weeks in veg - extreme defoliation/training - opinions please

Gallery of plant above if you don't want to read about it and just see the extreme defoiled plant grow (exactly what I did above)

PossumLiquor Gallery - 420 Magazine Photo Gallery

May continue veg nutes for a week to promote recovery.

I've seen this done before with great results, especially this early in flower. I'm sure you'll be fine and hopefully your bud sites will start swelling for your bountiful harvest. Happy growing!

Do you think I should put up the T5? I used it penetrate the bottom of my canopy and now there's no need really unless you think the extra heat would provide added benefit. I appreciate your and everyone else's feedback, you've all been great!

Here Ye, Here Ye: I bring more pics of the royal garden to the attention of his majesty's people.

Man how did you ever count all your bud sites? :laughtwo: I cant even count them on one plant let alone multiples!

A LOT of patience. Had the day to myself and all of my work and home stuff was done so in routine plant and soil checks, etc. I thought, well hell. Why not see what I have going on? I admit I had to count and recount a few times after losing track but once I got my number I rechecked to ensure it was correct and it is.

My favorite time of day!

Plants are more hermie sensitive now as I understand it. I haven't done much with the T5 because of that. Here's my problem.

When they were in Veg I had to hide them, not because of losing the plants but because I'd lose my grow space as they may call it a fire hazard and my plants would just fuck up from there.
I now need to hide them again for the same reason.

Here's my question

If I have to turn the T5 off on Friday and plants will have less light and concerned that the effect would be similar to brief light exposure during darkness as there is for all intents and purposes, less light for an extended period of time (up to a couple of hours, for heat and odor control) and concerned the plant may translate similarly. In other words: can they hermie having about more than a quarter (at least) of their light source taken from them? Thanks for any input from whoever (my money is on TheGreenYeti...he should be here shortly)

Here I am Monkey! That had to take a whole lot of patience! Kudos to you for pulling it off! I do not have an answer that comes from research or anything but Duggan has mentioned on a few occasions that the lights getting shut off for small amounts of time is not a big deal. Light stress is more likely to come from interrupting the dark period. He has mentioned turning all of his lights off to take pictures and has suggested others do the same instead of taking them in the dark period so as to not stress them and cause hermies.

Thanks for the great info Yeti! Was curious as to whether you guys could discern as to whether or not this was light burn or pest damage at the root level.

Are we looking at the burnt tips? If so that is usually the first sign that your nutes are just a little too hot (strong). Some people shoot for the burnt tips as an indicator they are dialed in while others take it as a sign to back off on the feed just slightly. The tips are the only sign of stress I see so if you are asking about something else I do not see it.

That's all I'm asking about. I mis-labeled the event. I've usually seen my nute burn in the form of orange spots. Definitely something I'm going to have to remember.
